We breed, hunt, and train purebred Wirehaired Pointing Griffons We then added ‘Ascents Faith’ and ‘Ascents Lucy’ shortly after that.

Ascent Griffons was founded in 2020 with our first dog ‘Stonyridge Locked and Loaded’ or “Gus” for short. While our dogs are young we are long on experience. We have 31 years (a lifetime for me) of experience with our partner Trinity Bretons which is run by my dad and brother. Driven by a love of dogs and hunting we decided to put that experience to work for ourselves and to give our children the

same experience we had. Love for hunting both upland game and waterfowl paired with a desire for a great family dog led us to the versatile hunting and hypoallergenic Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. We love their natural drive for birds, retrieving, the water, and their love for people and look forward to many days in the field, at the lake, and in the house!

Check out Ascent’s Annie aka ‘Millie.’ Out of our A litter from Gus and Faith. That pairing has produced some pups with incredible bird drive and natural pointing ability. She is owned by Witte Reiter and Morgan Grosely who have done a wonderful job keeping us updated with photos and videos.

As a mom and hunter this breed has impressed me. They’re great in the field and at home. They’re a big part of our family and our lifestyle and I love that it can be that way.

One fun moment out of a really fun day. Willow girl (almost 1.5 years) naturally backed Gus on a nice point. A dog that backs naturally can be pretty rare. Very cool!

Mr. Gus with this tremendous point. I cut about 30 seconds off the front end and he held while multiple dogs ran around him. One of the best dogs I’ve ever been around.

Such a fun video. Faith went locked on first followed by our old Brit ray up ahead of her. As we got closer Faith started flagging and getting squirrelly. This is a Gus/Faith puppy from our first litter, call name “Tucker.” This was sent to us from his owner. He’s working on steadiness in this session. It’s pretty fun to watch at 7 months old he’s getting it. We are blessed to not just have good dogs but good families who love and invest in them.
