I have a lot of new followers so I figured it was time I reintroduced myself.

Hi there! 👋 I’m Jamie, the one woman show behind The Cookie Caper. I specialize in homemade cookies packed with deliciousness—because who doesn’t need a little sweetness in their life?

Fun fact: I donate a portion of every sale to Cape Cod nonprofits, so every bite you enjoy helps “bake a difference” in our community.

I started making cookies for fun and it quickly turned into a business because people were demanding my yummy sugar cookies for their events. I’m a washashore from PA but have lived on Cape for 10 years now and I just moved to Yarmouth Port from South Dennis the 1st of the year.

When I’m not in the kitchen, I’m working as a Sales Manager for a nail company or hanging out with my 2 rescue dogs Brady and Bane (because they’re the best).

Cinnamon has been adopted!!

This girl got her birthday wish for a family of her own. The best part is that her foster family is friends with her new adoptive family! Cinnamon will live close to them so they can watch her grow up! We are so happy that another pup has a furever home.

The chunky butts are ready!!

These puppies are ready for their forever home! Merry and Tinsel are super outgoing and little rebels. Kringle is a little more laid back. They absolutely love to play and chew things. They will need to be potty trained! We have been working on crate training with them and so far they are doing a good job.

Jane Doe.
Now named 𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐕𝐄𝐑!
She is now an official BFAR kid. ♥️

Thank you to Scott Shanley from Humarock Shepherds for taking the time to do her evaluation today. Scott has kindly offered to take her for a little while to rehab her in a place where there are not multiple other barking dogs to stress her out more than she already is. 

She’s going to take time, patience and a lot of love. She’s approximately 8-10 months old and a Cane Corso. Once rehabbed, she’s will be adopted to a breed experienced handler only. We will get her a full health evaluation with our vet next week as scheduled and share it with all of you. She will have a game plan to get to a good place.

Meet Jane Doe

This poor girl was dumped and is currently with animal control. We have agreed to finish her 10 day hold.

We need medical funds, otherwise we are not going to be able to help this dog after the hold is up. She is clearly emaciated and she is riddled with sores. She’s going to need to be vaccinated once healthy enough and spayed. 

We are animal controls last call. They have called everyone that they can and everywhere is full. She also has fear aggression and most rescues/shelters won’t take a dog like her on due to liability. This though…..
This is our wheelhouse. ♥️

If we cannot raise enough funds for this dog, we are not going to be able to intervene. We are starting with a goal of $2,500.

If you follow us, you know that we have been sending dogs to the vet left and right due to illnesses. Our dogs get great care while with us.

Meet Angel!

Breed: Pointer Mix
DOB: 1 year
Weight: 35 lbs

She is currently in TN and will arrive next week.

Bio Per the foster:
We named her Angel when she wondered up to my house pregnant. We knew it was going to be getting cold, and we felt bad because she is such a pretty dog, and she was wondering hungry and pregnant. Angel is great with kids. Loves my 3 grandbabies so much. Plays well with other dogs bigger or smaller than her. As long as we had her which was only a couple months, she hasn't been around cats so I can't say how she is with them. Anyone who would come over fell in love with Angel as she would stay to get loves...pets ....and of she was able she would lay right next to them. She is a major bed or cover hog it doesn't matter which she will take both if she can. I know I've said it before, but Angel is just a loving dog. Oh, and before I forget she is kennel trained I have a very big kennel I kept her and the puppies in when we left the house.

We are getting whacked left and right.

We thought that mama a.k.a. Eve was doing better until today. She started coughing again and acting a little lethargic so Amanda took her to Pembroke Animal hospital and sure enough she has pneumonia. So she is on a stronger antibiotic. 😔

Now…Wren… this girl didn’t really feel well yesterday so we gave her a bland diet. We were hoping that it would help. It did not. She is still experiencing a very upset stomach. She’s refusing to eat any food, so she will be scheduled for an emergency vet visit tomorrow morning. Her gums are still pink and not tacky, which is good.

🆘🆘 𝐅𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐄𝐃!! 🆘🆘

We have a litter that needs immediate foster for this upcoming Saturday!!

Approx DOB: 10/6/24
Breed: Mixed
Weight: Entire litter is under 25 lbs currently.

They were dumped like trash on a rural road and someone was hoping no one would find them. Thankfully they were located and rescued. We now need fosters here in MA to save them!!!!!

We have 4 girls and 1 boy. They are a little shy but if you get to their level they will give you all kinds of kisses. They like to get rowdy and have fun. They are great with other dogs and children approved.

Congratulations to Dak and his new mom!! ❤️

Dak was dropped off to our shelter on Christmas Eve with no real background or idea what his story was, all we knew was he was about 12-14 weeks old, very small, and incredibly cute!

Daks new mom said she was really looking to do two things: adopt and not shop and find a dachshund/doxi mix. She found us at the right time and we knew she would be Daks perfect person! 🙏🏼

He is going to be with his mom all the time and even becoming her new office pup, which will make Dak thrilled as he loves to be the center of attention!

We are so excited for you both on your new life together! 🙌🏼

Aggie‘s family had fostered her and then realized that they loved her too much to let her go. These are honestly the best kind of adoptions. You get to know the dog and the dog gets to know you. It’s a good way to make sure that the dog is the perfect fit before making the commitment.

Tinsel isn’t feeling well again. Her third vet visit in a week. 🥴😔

She is staying overnight at the VCA. They are not quite sure what is wrong, but they are running multiple tests in order to figure it out. They are starting with giving her fluids, taking a few x-rays, anti-nausea meds, and will be constantly monitored. They will also do an ultrasound in the morning and call me with the results. As of right now, we are looking at a $1700 vet bill. We could really use help.

Chevy ♥️

Age: 4 Years old.
Breed: Mixed

Long post but worth the read.

We lovveeeeee Chevy. We take as many behavioral cases as our bank account allows.

I’ll start from the beginning.

Chevy was due to be euthanized for an altercation that she had with another dog (there is no real knowledge who started it or why) and her parent got bit breaking it up.

With the trust issues that Chevy has, it is clear that she has been failed many times. We stepped forward for her because we like a challenge and she was different to me than what her story was. She was just broken.

When she first came to us she was in a 48 inch crate and she made it crystal clear that she didn’t want us touching her or reaching into her crate. She didn’t trust us and we respected her space. I knew the goal was earning her trust. While we were getting to know her we learned she also resource guarded high value items.

We had an assessment done by Humarock Shepherds. Scott asked me how much time we could give her. Knowing at the time we were moving into 275 Oak St. (thanks to Chris Shaughnessy), I told him she had as much time as she needed. He told me to work with her and wait.

I want to fast forward to today. We have worked with her every day. I can sit in her kennel run and she just melts into me. She is the most loving dog who truly just wants affection and a human to call her own. Yes, she still needs work but she deserves a home as much as the next dog. Her ideal future home is an older couple, no other animals, and the understanding she can’t have high value items (Bully sticks, bones,) she plays with toys and we do take them from her and give them back so she knows whatever life she had before that made her feel like she had to defend her stuff, is over.

She’s learning strangers don’t mean her harm and some of them are actually pretty cool.
It’s huge progress. ♥️

If you have time and patience to give her, she’s your girl. We truly love her and really want to see her in a loving home. She deserves it.

Felix!!

Breed: Hound Mix
Estimated DOB: 8/2/24

From his foster momma:
Felix has been doing great with EVERYTHING. He has only had a few accidents (p*e only) in our house the first 24 hours and since then not one!!! He is playful, loves to cuddle, sleeps right through the night without a p*ep. He loves to play hard during the day, then nap to recharge! He is learning the ropes from our resident dog, Maggie May. Whatever Maggie does, he does too! This dogs’ paws are HUGE. I think he is going to be a big dog. His sense of smell is off the charts, but he is a coonhound mix. He is going to make some family very happy.

We all love happy endings.
Especially those that had the odds stacked against them. I personally met Levi during both of my trips to Tennessee this year. I met him before, and after his amputation. He is the absolute most sweetest old man that you could ever imagine. ♥️
He is living his absolute best life and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. They love him so much and Levi loves his sibling. 🐾🐾
Moments like this is why we continue to push forward every day.

Meet Henry AKA Sonny whom we adopted out back in 2021. He is back.

Age: Almost 4 years old
Breed: Pitty Mix

It’s hard not to judge some owner surrenders when I have a behavioral case myself (and yes, I also have kids). Dogs are WORK. When a dog falls off track it is your job as their parent to help them get back to a good place with training, or at least try. Dogs do not just wake up one day and start lunging at people. It builds over time.

What I can tell you about Henry is that he has been super sweet with staff although he’s shut down and afraid. Hentry would rather just sit in your lap and take in snuggles than do anything else. He has some medical needs we will need to address. He has a raging rash near his groin area and an apparent ear infection. Henry will also need proper vaccines.

Once medical is all set we will have him complete a full board and train with Scott Shanley from Humarock Shepherds. Training alone will cost us 2K.

To the vet who refused to euthanize him, thank you for giving us the chance to help him.

We will get him back on track and into a good home. He deserves that from us.

Meet Freckles!!

Age: 6/28/24
Breed: Terrier
Weight: 45-50 lbs

Freckles the one who will come inside the most but listens to directions very well when told where to go for example, inside or outside, usually very, very playful and trips over themselves quite often but jumps up more playful is a super sweet boy and loves everyone. Freckles is going to be a great additional to a home. He arrives next week!
