😻Happy Father's Day to all the dads of two-legged and four-legged creatures!
Happy Caturday, friends!
That tiny stomach only holds a couple of tablespoons of food at a time. And they're also prone to gorging...that's why they urp. 🤢 Feeding your cat smaller meals during the day is helpful, and feeding your cat a raw diet is the best thing you can do. Because their stomachs are so highly acidic, a fresh food diet is the kindest on their digestive systems. 😻
🐶 Solid advice for a Thursday afternoon, just sayin'. 😻
It's hump day...er, WAG YOUR TAIL WEDNESDAY!! Let's see you pics and vids! We could all use a little happiness right about now!

🤓Okay smarties, here's the answer: No one really knows the true purpose of a Henry's Pocket! Some scientists suggest the pouch may help animals better hear high-pitched noises. Others argue that the pouch helps cats pinpoint where sounds are coming from.
Or, it may help cats angle their ears efficiently to locate the source of sounds. It could also allow cats to move their ears to express emotion. 😼

😻Ever notice that cute little notch on the side of your cat's ear? It's called a Henry's Pocket, or more technically a cutaneous marginal pouch. Any guesses as to why this is a thing?? Take your best guess. 👇 I'll tell you the answer tomorrow. No Googling! 😂
😉 😂 I can't be the only one...right?? 👇
Happy weekend, animal lovers!
If you partake, have one for me! 🍩
😻Let this be the permission you need to be PROUD of the voice you use to talk to your kitty. 😅
❓❓Since putting up my blog about feeding raw to your cats and dogs (if you haven't read it yet, head to https://www.healthyanimalhealing.com/post/raw-diet-for-dogs-guide), I've been asked what brands we carry. Here's a rundown for you!
WE LOVED all the pics from last week's so much I decided we should do it again! Let us see the 👅👅👅!!
Hairballs. We hear ‘em. We see ‘em. What to do about ‘em?
Here are a few tips:
🐱Groom your cat regularly to reduce the amount of hair they ingest.
😻Add a digestive enzymes, prebiotics, and probiotics to help promote digestive function. We recommend Feline Gut Soothe by Adored Beast.
🐱Add Marshmallow Root Extract to help ingested hair pass smoothly and easily. We recommend Animal Essentials Hairball Relief.
😻Feed a fresh food (raw), human grade diet along with fish oil. That helps your cat at both ends of the issue, creating a healthy coat and skin for less shedding and helping your cat’s digestive tract work properly. We recommend Ultra Oil skin and coat supplement and Potent-Sea Omega-3 by Adored Beast.
I'd love to introduce you to Nala and her human, Robyn Avery! 😻Read an article recently that said that although we'll never be SURE what dogs dream about, every indication is that they do dream about lived experiences. So if your dog has never chased a rabbit before, chances are that's NOT what they're dreaming about! Got a video on your phone of your pup's dreams? We wanna see!! 👇
💤
😻Here's a little bonding tip for you and your cat: Since cats often greet each other by sniffing noses, allow your kitty to sniff your hand, then gently press on their nose. They'll actually like it!
Happy !! Join in the fun and lemme see yours (or your dog's 😂)
Have a safe Memorial Day!
😼Studies indicate that most cats have one particular spot they like to be petted. Is this true for your kitty? Show me where your cat's puuuuurrrfect spot is 👇😻
😴Does your Frenchie, bulldog, or pug sleep a lot during the day? Do they sleep in some odd looking positions? This could be due to sleep apnea. Flat-faced (brachycephalic) breeds tend to have this disorder more than their longer snouted friends. If your dog is displaying signs of sleep apnea, there's a new procedure that can help. https://www.barkandwhiskers.com/2023-08-09-french-bulldog-breed/

🤓According to a recent Oregon State study, dog tail wagging is asymetric! Often if there's something a dog encounters that it wants to approach, it wags more to the right side of its body, whereas if there's something it wants to withdraw from, it wags to the left side of its body. Perhaps the coolest thing is that dogs can perceive those asymmetries in other dogs. Does this hold true for your pups? Keep an eye out! 👀
😻Have you tried any of the enrichment activitites from my latest blog post yet? If you haven't seen it, you can read it at https://www.healthyanimalhealing.com/post/dog-enrichment-ideas-for-indoors. I'd love to see a pic of your pet playing with a game, puzzle, or toy!! 👇
If your dog has allergies, they might be allergic to common protein sources. Give venison a try! 🦌Venison contains more protein than any other type of red meat and has up to two times more amino acids than beef 🦌Venison is higher in healthy fatty acids, particularly omega-3 fats, than factory farmed beef 🦌Venison is a good source of B vitamins, which play a role in skin health, energy and carbohydrate metabolism, as well as enzyme function 🦌Venison is considered a novel protein source, making it a potential protein source for pets with food allergies 🦌You can feed venison to your pet raw, freeze-dried, dehydrated or cooked. When fed as treats, keep in mind that it should constitute less than 10% of your pet’s daily caloric intake Source: Dr. Karen Shaw Becker
Fiction! Garlic has been shown to assist a dog's body in staying healthy! Just chop a clove a few times to activate the healing food components and add these amounts to your pet’s food daily (or whenever you decide to offer garlic, remembering that like people, some dogs love garlic and some dogs don’t): 🧄10-15 lbs, .5 clove 🧄 20-40 lbs, 1 clove 🧄75-90 lbs, 2 cloves 🧄100+ lbs, 2.5 cloves Source: The Forever Dog
With a heavy heart I have to tell you that our beloved Teddie passed away on Monday. Teddie had a kind heart and made me laugh everyday of his life. He truly was here to enjoy life. And was the most loyal dog I ever knew. We loved each other deeply. 💙
