Brining back a Gelinas Farm staple!

When I was a kid growing up here at the farm, there was always a Saturday morning group lesson with Joanne Gelinas Snow. All of us kids would come in first thing in the morning, do chores, have breakfast with Joanne and Artie, and then ride in a group lesson.

These mornings taught me so much about horsemanship, grit, work ethic, and friendship. They are core memories for me that I still look back on, they made me the horsewoman I am today.

Hoping to help continue the journey for the next generation!

This c**t starting clinic is a great way to start a young horse under saddle. Starting c**ts in a group atmosphere is a wonderful way to use a horses natural instincts to advance their training. With Tom and Trina’s instruction, in this group atmosphere, your c**t will go from being a part of the herd to relying on you for support. It is an amazing feeling when this interaction happens. Tom and Trina are very intuitive to both the horse and rider which makes this clinic impactful and fun for those participating.

There is not a day that goes by that we aren't grateful for the land that this farm resides on and its role in the health and wellness of our horses, our cattle, and our community! Getting to watch these guys run and play is always such a gift.

Get your cow fix here at GF! Last Friday we picked up 20 head of angus cattle. We have several fun ranch/ stockmanship events lined up for the season. From working cattle with Tom Curtin Quality Horsemanship: Back to the Basics to some fun NZN Horsemanship Ranch Days… or perhaps check out the New England Working Equitation scene and join our ease of handling and cattle clinic with Stephanie Hayes later this season. Learn how to apply basic horsemanship and stockmanship principles and give your horse a job!

With that, we opened the books for NZN Horsemanship, DBA Gelinas Farm. And it’s been an amazing ride! NZN Horsemanship is all about honoring quality and versatility. My goal is simple, to help, share, and inspire. I offer opportunities to build your horsemanship through training, lessons, and clinics on and off the GF home base. I specialize in the fundamentals of horsemanship to build a foundation that will take you and your horse in any direction.
