This weather makes me soooo angry…. so angry. 🤬 In addition to frigid temps, everything is dead and ugly. I HATE winter. And supposedly we’ll get snow Sunday!?! 😭😭😭😭😭🥶🥶. This is just rude.

I told the dude today I probably wouldn’t be quite so angry if we didn’t farm. Dealing with chores and worrying about animals is really stressful and no fun.

Rant over.. lol

No piglets yet… the dude was up all night monitoring her. She has a pr*****ed uterus, so I had to call the vet this morning, (first vet call in 4yrs of owning livestock, so we’ve had a good run 🤞). Thanks to Country Creatures Veterinary Care for squeezing in a visit with Sweet Pea. Now, fingers crossed she delivers tonight 🤞❤️🐷

Oh! It’s on!! Come on Spring!!!

When we started Old Dog Farm SC our aim was to grow all the herbs, veggies, and flowers you’re not going to see elsewhere! We want to introduce y’all to all the different varieties of produce this world has to offer!

Next year we’re ramping up our herb and flower gardens… We know a lot of folks drive past our place, so you’ll see what our next phase will be!

We’ve recently added 40+ laying chickens to the farm to ramp up our egg production and we’re incubating pretty much non-stop (quail and layers).

Sweet Pea (mix-breed piggy) is due early January and our lil gilt Seven may be pregnant too… oiy! ….look for piglet photo ops coming soon! Lots going on, lots to do!!

We’ll still be raising meat birds, but on a smaller scale, mostly for us and family, and special orders.

It’s been busy here lately.. trying to fit all my to-dos into each day!

I had a couple hours to process some quail last weekend and I decided on boneless, skinless breast wrapped in bacon and leg quarters, which can be prepared and eaten like wings.

And if you love the bacon at Ruffage. like we do, you’ll LOVE these… we used their bacon!
