Old Dog Farm SC Veteran-owned farm in Pendleton, SC. We have KuneKune pigs and heritage American Bresse chickens. South Carolina registered meat handler and poultry slaughter.

We also have layer and meat chickens, Jumbo Coturnix quail, seasonal heirloom & rare produce.

It’s been a busy summer! It’s been nice not having chicken processing fill every minute of my weekends which provided a few minutes to catch up on restocking our dehydrated chicken parts.

Bob’s Body Bag includes all the parts in the picture, heads, necks, feet, and wingettes; this one is $8.

We also have bags of only heads and only feet; these are $6/ea.

Get ‘em while we still have some!

We’ve just started harvesting white eggplant too! It’s called a casper eggplant and described as, “Medium-sized, very attractive, smooth ivory-white fruit with a mild mushroom-like flavor.”

The skin is more tender than traditional eggplant and I feel like the flesh wasn’t as mushy as eggplant can be. I sautéed it with butter, salt & pepper, simple and delicious!

This is a passion flower. We didn’t plant it via seed nor plant. It’s amazingly right next to a sheoard’s hook that holds a solar light, perfect for it to attach to. Where the heck did it come from!?!?! It’s a mystery and we’re loving it!

American Bresse chicken.

These two are being processed for dinner tomorrow.

American Bresse are a medium sized dual purpose breed. They grow very rapidly until they reach their adult weight of up to 8.5 pounds.

Bresse Chickens have been described as the best-tasting chicken in the world, especially in France. Terms like "the queen of poultry" and "poultry of kings" penned in the mid-19th century are a reflection of the unique richness of this breed.

Although we didn’t finish them (feeding them a diet of grains and whole milk while contained), we’re looking forward to tasting these awesome birds!

I’ve had great “time off” this weekend… lol I got some extra things done that were waiting on me to have time for.

I can add quail processing to my resume! I processed these two guys today and we’ll have ‘em for dinner tomorrow.

Also, we LOVE to trade with friends! So happy my friends stopped by today with their honey and they took home some Old Dog Farm SC goodies! 😁❤️
