Without the ability to clearly see, Hallie relies on touch, scent and sounds to understand what's going on. She gets nervous since she can't see which is exactly why building trust (such as talking her through the process and gentle, consistent touches so nothing feels like a surprise) is important to make her feel safer!

Infected ears should NOT be cleaned 🚫👂 Dexter had some redness, an odor, debris and moisture in one of his ears, which are signs of infection. Cleaning that ear would've hindered a diagnosis and treatment by removing the symptoms a vet would need to look for and could also risk pushing bacteria, debris or yeast deeper into the ear canal, which can make the condition worse.

"Why won't Oliver let me brush him at home but he's good for grooming?" Your dog sees you as their comfort zone so the relationship and dynamic with their parent is different from their groomer. Being in an environment that isn't their home can also help, at the groomers they learn it's grooming time and not play time.
