A German Shepard bit a boy and broke the skin. The mother tried to talk to the owner, but he rapidly walked away from her, when she told her husband about it he walked after him across the parking lot and he cowardly continued into the woods avoiding us. Now we will spend the rest of the day in the ER because we were not able to confirm that the dog was properly vaccinated. Please, if your dog is aggressive towards people, children, or other dogs DON’T BRING THEM TO AN OFF LEASH DOG PARK! And be and an adult if your dog does bite someone and apologize and provide the needed vaccination information!

Spring Lake Park will be closed starting, April 6 so split rail fencing can be installed along the driveway.

The Town hopes to have to the project completed in 3 to 4 days, but due to use of heavy equipment we are closing the park for public safety. If the project is not completed by the weekend, the park will be reopened and closed again Monday, April 12.

All dog walkers can access open space for their dogs at Center Park East during the closing. The dog area at Center Park is located in the meadows in the back of the park, so please keep your dog on a leash in general walking areas.

Dogs may also be walked on-leash in any one of our parks.

Signs will be posted at the entrance of Spring Lake Park. Thank you for your patience while the work is completed.

Can someone post in the comments dog training videos they feel are acceptable for making dog parks safer ?

There were a few of you that didn’t like the one we posted, so I’m asking for more input to help others on how to train/control their dog.
