Our main mission and focus is to find responsible and loving homes for Boston Terriers & other brachycephalic breeds. Tuxedo Hearts Boston Terrier Rehoming & Rescue is a NJ Non-Profit Corporation and is recognized as a 501c3 organization. Tuxedo Hearts Boston Terrier Rehoming & Rescue was founded in 2021 by Deanna Dorio, Debra Wolfe & Angela Pisciotta. The rescue operates out of central New Jersey

. To date, Tuxedo Hearts has rescued and homed over 50 dogs in our short time of existence. We conduct video interviews with interested adopters. Once a person becomes an approved adopter, when a dog in need comes to us, we arrange a meet and greet! Our organization is unique as we offer a 3 day trial period for families before an official financial and legal commitment is made to the adoption. Our philosophy is that we do not want any decision regarding an adoption to be about a paid adoption fee. We want the best fit for both dog AND family! We are an organization who will adopt to families with children. We believe that having children is NOT an automatic disqualifier to an adoption.. And that animals help teach children a sense of responsibility. Our organization focuses on rescuing Boston Terriers and other Brachycephalic breeds. However, we will assist ANY dog in need or person with any breed who needs help rehoming a pet. Our dogs are primarily rescued from Lancaster, PA. We rescue breeder moms, retired studs, "aged out" puppies and puppies/dogs with medical issues. If you are interested in adopting from us and would like to get on our adopter list, please reach out to our page to set up an interview. They are conducted virtually Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please note, all family members must be present during the interview! Approved Adopters List/Communication Policy -

1. Only schedule an interview with our team if you are serious/actively looking to adopt a dog within the next 30 days. If you do not intend to adopt within the next 30 days, please do NOT schedule an interview to be considered.

2. Please respond within 24 hours of being contacted with a yes/no commitment to a meet and greet. If a response is not given, you will be removed from our approved adopters list.

3. If you are approved and are no longer interested/able to adopt within 30 days, please send a courtesy message to the team to be removed from the adopters list. Please note, when you are ready to adopt within 30 days, if you are previously approved within the last 6 months, you can be readded to the list without another interview.

4. If you pass on more than 2 dogs you are contacted about without reasonable explanation to the team, you will be removed from the adopters list and cannot be readded for 90 days.

Congratulations to the Rita and Michael on your adoption of Alfie!

Alfie was surrendered to Tuxedo Hearts after his previous owner could no longer care for him. Rita and Michael previously adopted a frenchie from Tuxedo Hearts, Valentina, NKA Brie. Over the summer they started to foster for us. They did such a great job with the pups they had, but they did see how hard it is to let a sweet foster Pup go..

When Alfie came to us, Rita and Michael began to foster him. They quickly saw what an amazing and loving dog he is… and after some time realized he was meant to be a member of their family!

Foster fail…. But we love that! 🖤 If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be. We absolutely love and adore our foster volunteers. We wouldn’t be where we are or be able to help the dogs we do without their help. So as always, if a foster family wants to adopt the dog they are fostering.. they get first dibs. Period.

Congratulations to Jessica and Cody on your adoption of Daisy!

Daisy was rescued from Lancaster in our last transport. She really is a doll. 🩷 When she came into foster, we knew she would be absolutely perfect for Jessica and Cody! When they met it was love at first sight! For both humans and puppy!! Daisy knew she found her furever family! Daisy has been enjoying cuddles on the couch and all things fall! 🍁

Look how big the babies are getting!! They are 5 weeks old today! Chunking up, walking around, developing their independence! 🥰

Little baby boy is doing SO much better since his aspirate pneumonia. It truly is a miracle he survived for as sick as he was. He is thriving and doing wonderful! Chloe and the babies are doing wonderful with the Parson family at their home.

They are not ready for adoption yet, so please no inquires yet. But as always, get on our adopters list. Those already approved on the list will be contacted first.

Please welcome some of our new friends recently rescued from Lancaster!

The pug ladies… Miranda and Paisley! Sweet and spicy as they come! Poor Miranda had a very severe UTI that was not being treated when she came to us. Thankfully, we resolved that quickly with some antibiotics. They are doing wonderful in their foster home. Living it up at Sharon and Michael’s house! They even had a puppy spa day 💕

Callie and Daisy are two little Boston pups.. Aged out so we got called to take them… Which of course we did without hesitation. I mean look at those faces…. How could someone not want them?!

Congratulations Jackie, Olivia and Layne on your adoption of Leona NKA Fiona!

You probably remember this sweet girl… she came to us with untreated ear infections which led to the development of severe polyps in her ears. She had to undergo a full TECA surgery in her one ear, and the other Dr Charlie was able to ablate it. She also needed NARES & pallet surgery.

Jackie volunteered to Foster Fiona after all of her surgeries and help her recover. Jackies professional medical background surely came in good use! It was truly the perfect place for her. During her time with Jackie and the girls, they bonded so much with sweet Fiona. When it came time for placement, as always, Foster’s get first dibs! And it was no question she wasn’t leaving. 🩷

Fiona is living her best life.. going to festivals at the park, enjoying all the fall and Halloween events and of course soaking up so many snuggles!

We are so happy to have met Jackie and her girls! And happy to have them also help volunteer for our organization. We love the connections we make with our foster families, who turn into our Tuxedo Fam after adopting one of our fur babies!

One of the best fall festivals in Central Jersey!!! Hamilton Township’s Oktoberfest in Mercer County, Nj! Come hang out with us THIS weekend, Sunday October 20th from 11am - 5pm. Weather is looking beautiful!

We will be there, right next to the Shop Hamilton booth near the entrance of the festival.

We will have a table set up.. some cute items for purchase for a donation. Come say hi, take a photo with us and your fur babies! We love seeing our Tuxedo Fam! 🖤

Congratulations to the Hartranft family on your adoption of Midnight!

Midnight came to Tuxedo Hearts after being rescued from Lancaster, PA. Sweet little thing in need of a home. The Hartranft’s reached out to Tuxedo wanting to adopt. We loved them when we did our zoom interview and could not wait to find them a new furry family member. When we called to match them with midnight there was so much excitement and joy! 🥹 and of course when they met it was truly love and furst sight! 🩷 You can just tell by the smiles on everyone’s face this is going to be one loved little guy!

We are so excited for Midnight and his new furever family! Congratulations! 🎉

Congratulations to John and Darcy on their adoption of Taco!

Fresh off their honeymoon, these two newlyweds decided to add a member to their family! We knew Taco would be a wonderful fit for them! He’s the sweetest little boy.. very docile and snuggly!

Pictured with John and Darcy is Uncle Joe who will be a big part of Taco’s life! He will help take care of Mr Taco while John and Darcy work. Something tells me Taco is going to be a very spoiled boy by Uncle Joe! But isn’t that what uncles are for?!

Chloe & the babies update…

Little baby boy is out of the hospital and is doing wonderful. He was released Sunday and saw Dr Charlie Monday and she was very pleased with his progress and he has a very favorable prognosis.

THANK YOU to everyone who donated to his medical costs. As you can imagine a 3 day hospital stay is VERY expensive and we appreciate every dollar that was donated to help us with his care.

Mom and sissy are happy to have him back 🩵

We want to thank our foster Mama Amy and her family… they have been taking such exceptional care of Chloe and the babes. Amy’s early observations led to intervention that saved his life. We are so grateful for her. Her and her family are such wonderful volunteers and do so much to help some of our most needy cases.

We do want to extend a thank you to Dr Lloyd at NorthStar vets for overseeing this case. We are very pleased with the care received and how wonderful the staff was. We would definitely recommend North Star for emergency needs.

We also want to thank Dr Charlie for coordinating, communicating with Dr Lloyd and promptly seeing our little guy after his hospital stay. As always, we are beyond grateful.

This little guy will be strong as ever. He is sure one hell of a fighter 👊🏻

We wanted to share with our community that our beloved hospice foster Paige crossed the rainbow bridge on Monday. 🌈 You may remember Paige.. We rescued her this past March from a shelter where she was dumped and abandoned during her most vulnerable years. One of our followers shared her post with us, and we knew we had to help. Angela and Eddie took the trip out PA to go get her. When we got her she was skin and bones. Had a huge lump on her leg. We knew she was not well. We took her to our friends at Stockton Veterinary Hospital for a work up to see what we were dealing with. After lots of blood work and imaging it was determined Paige had a very large mass in her abdomen. After a lengthy discussion with Dr. Z and our board, it was determined Paige would remain a hospice foster with Tuxedo Hearts and live out whatever time she had left with Angela and Eddie. The timeline wasn’t certain, but we knew it wasn’t a ton of time. However, much to everyone’s surprise.. Paige had good quality life for 4 1/2 months with palliative care. She lived her days with Eddie, Angela and their 4 furbabies Phoebe, Olivia, Maggie and Winston. She instantly became part of their pack. Angela and Eddie wanted Paige to have beautiful moments doing things she likely had never had the chance to do.. She went to the beach, had a birthday party, went for walks, went to a Boston terrier social, ate ice cream, dressed up, celebrated holidays, ate a cheeseburger, went swimming and got lots and lots of cuddles and love! Eddie made this beautiful video as a tribute to Paige.. some of the highlights of her time with their family. She lived her days to the fullest… & most importantly knew LOVE ❤️ She did not die rotting away in a cold, depressing shelter. She spent her final moments in Eddie and Angela’s arms getting lots of cuddles and kisses before she crossed. Thank you for everything you did Angela & Eddie. You both are truly some of the most loving & caring individuals I

Miss Paige Pupdate - Miss Paige was seen by Dr. Zydiak this afternoon. Her health status is still a question mark as we are waiting on the results of tests. We believe she is approximately 9 years old. She had bloodwork, a fine needle aspirate and X-Rays done as part of her work up. Once we get results we can then figure out what she needs next. We are still getting to know Paige. But one thing we have learned is she is very vocal and has a lot to say! We think she was trying to tell Angela how happy she is to be out of the shelter! We will keep everyone posted on this sweet girls status. 💜 Please send her some positive vibes in the comments! 👇🏼

PAIGE IS FREE! Please welcome Paige to Tuxedo Hearts. Angela and her husband Eddie picked her up this morning. Paige was dumped at a shelter in PA. Congratulations to Patricia on your adoption of Coke NKA Tazo. If you just saw our post about Ziggy, this is his littermate! They’re just an adorable little crew. Patricia traveled all the way from Rhode Island to adopt Tazo! We are always so impressed when we meet potential adopters who aren’t nearby willing to drive to adopt a furbaby from our rescue. Like his littermate brother Ziggy, he too gets a furry sister! I’m sure she’ll be keeping Tazo plenty busy! We hope he gets to go on lots of fun New England adventures! Congratulations! 🎊

Breeder Mommas are some of our most difficult cases to adopt out.. Primarily because it is so hard to undo the years of abuse and neglect these dogs faced. They often times live in a barn and are only used for breeding. They aren’t loved the way we love our pets. We take the placement of these special dogs so seriously. Meet former Momma Peach 💗 Peach was one of those Mommas who took a very long time to come out of her shell & learn to trust. But thank goodness Jennifer and her family were as kind, loving ans patient as they come. Here is Ms Peach now ❤️ She has finally found her voice. & we LOVE it! She has learned to be a dog & is loving life! This is what it’s all about ❤️ #adoptdontshop
