Macaroni is still looking for her furever home. When you’re a breed focused rescue, it’s really hard when we get a friend who isn’t our normal type. But just because she isn’t braceo, doesn’t mean she isn’t equally as amazing and fun as our short faced friends.

Please share her post on your page and social media pages. This dog is so so sweet. She’s instant dog! House trained, up to date on shots, spayed, great with kids.. She just has such a large energy that sometimes it’s a bit much for other furry friends…. In her social classes at training she has been doing wonderful. She walks beautifully on a leash and is such a joy… She will really make a fantastic companion!

5:30pm Update - We are no longer taking inquiries for Hazel due to the overwhelming response.

Little sweet Hazel girl is looking for her forever home 🩷 She just turned 14 weeks.

She’s a little love bug! She has been doing great in her foster home. She loves to play, bounce around - but is also very happy to have a cuddle sesh on the couch. She is fine with other dogs. While she hasn’t been kid tested, we do not have any reason to believe she would be a problem.

She has so much love to give.

Preference will be given to those on our approved adopters list or if you are a previous adopter! We look forward to Connecting!

Jackson Update!!!!

We are so excited to share that Jackson has been adopted!!

You may remember Jackson… he got loose on a foster and we spent nearly 4 days looking for him. Drones, communities and volunteers all involved in the urgent search before a winter storm hit the area…. He was found by a wonderful healthcare worker Alexa at Bayshore Medical Center. Before her shift she saw him and sprang into action and was able to capture him safety.

When we picked him up, Alexa shared with us that she adored Jackson and was very interested in adopting him. We told her once he healed up, decompressed and got neutered - we’d be in touch. And sure enough, when it was time - she couldn’t wait to come meet him again with her fur baby.

Needless to say, it was an instant click! I mean look at that second photo -
“Did we just become best friends? YUP!”

Jackson is now home with Alexa, the person who was able to secure him… and loving life with his new furry sibling. This story couldn’t have had a happier ending! 💙

Thank you again to everyone involved! Without your support and assistance, Jackson may not be here today.. He sure is loving his new life! 💙

We have seen such a crazy uptick in French Bulldogs needing our assistance 💔 We are happy to help our frenchie friends. The crisis with this breed is real.

The release of French Bulldogs from commercial breeders highlights the dark side of high-demand dog breeding. The numbers of discarded popular breed dogs by Midwest puppy mill, profit breeders are staggering!

These dogs were rescued, but many are killed. No one thinks the website they bought their puppy on or the breeder they used is a puppy mill. This chart says it all. If you can't meet the mother dog to see her mental and physical conditions in person, don't buy the puppy!

Happy Sunday Tuxedo Fam! We need your help!!! 🚨

We are sure everyone is busy watching football.. But we hope you could spare some time to read about our friend Fronch… because we’re going to need your help!

Fronch is a 3 year old French Bulldog who was dumped on the streets from whomever he lived with. He developed issues with his ear that clearly were never dealt with.. and got very out of hand.. he was taken to the shelter when he was found.. and we received notice he was there. Because of the severe issue with his ear, which then developed an open drain tract in his neck. He was also very underweight, clearly very neglected…. 😔 The shelter did not have the resources to help him, and were going to euthanize him.

We did not want that to happen to him, because he is so young and healthy otherwise! He just needs the right veterinarian who can take care of him… and luckily for Fronch (and us!) we have Dr Charlie!

Fronch has a severe infection in his ear. 3 kinds of awful bacteria requiring 2 antibiotics for 3 weeks before he can have surgery to remove the large tumor in his ear. We are praying the tumor can be removed without needing TECA. 🙏🏻 But we won’t know until Dr Charlie gets in there.
He is also likely going to need NARES and soft pallet surgery… surgery is scheduled for Feb 25th

This guy has been through so much. We just want to give him the best possible life we can!

Say hello to our two new Mamas 🩷 Reba and Sadie.

They were rescued two weeks ago from Lancaster, PA. A life of making puppies… but that stopped the day they entered our car. They are so sweet and just learning to be dogs right now. It’s a whole new world for them in foster.. but they’re doing great! Getting much needed TLC. ❤️‍🩹

🚨🚨Adoption Alert🚨🚨

Mr Charlie was surrendered to Tuxedo Hearts after his owner had a sudden change in living situation which left him unable to keep Charlie. We are so happy his owner found us, as a shelter is not the place for a pup like Charlie.

Charlie is a 10 year old pug. He’s a senior guy looking for a loving home. He is neutered. Up to date on vaccines. Charlie does have a form of IVDD common in Pugs. He is currently on prednisone and medication to manage the IVDD. It does impact his back legs.. He has moments where he moves great and moments where he slides.. We just got him a pair of wheels that he will begin using. Note, he can walk, but the veterinarian believes having the wheels may be very beneficial to him. The wheels will be provided to his new owner. He can no longer hear, but this does not change his sweet and s***ky personality.

He’s great with other dogs. He does need a home without a lot of steps.. as steps aren’t great for his back. Charlie is such an amazing boy, with SO much love to give.

We really hope someone will open their heart and home to this amazing senior boy. He has so much s***k in him and will make such a great companion!

Silver and Hunter are looking for their forever home 💙

Silver and Hunter were rescued from Lancaster, PA last weekend. They are “after Christmas leftovers” … aka dogs that didnt sell for Christmas.. so it’s time for them to go 😑 Well, we are happy they’re with us!

They are not biologically related. But both boys are looking for a home. No, they do not need to be adopted together.. but they could!
They are born 6 days apart - 10/10 & 10/16. Both dogs would be great with kids… other dogs etc. Silver especially would love another dog to play with!

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Just wanted to give an update on our friend Jackson. It has been a very interesting 24 hours for this little guy..

Despite what he went through for 3 days, he walked away VERY lucky. As you could imagine his paw pads are in pretty rough shape.. he has some cuts on his skin that are infected.. and he is really exhausted! He went almost 4 miles in 3 days! But overall no major injuries. We are so grateful!

He was caught near Bayshore Medical Center.. he was limping because his paws were hurting him. Alexa, one of the healthcare workers saw him and was able to grab him. We are so grateful she was there and able to capture him. She brought him inside and we quickly got in touch with her.

Thank you again to everyone who helped us look for Jackson.. whether you shared his post, came out to search, handed out flyers, donated AirTags/supplies, donated to USAR fundraiser for Jackson- you made a difference! We are so appreciative of the support we were given!!! Everyone rallied together to try to save Jackson!

Jackson is now in foster with Judy & Bill. Quickly realizing lounging on a nice warm comfy couch is way better than being on the run!

🚨🚨JACKSON HAS BEEN FOUND!!!🚨🚨

This morning we received news that healthcare workers from Bayshore Medical picked up a Boston terrier. Angela just went and confirmed, it’s Jackson!!!!!!!! Off to Dr Adler for medical care… He seems to be ok, exhausted.. limping. But considering all he has been through for the last 4 days, we are grateful!

He went nearly 3 miles from where he was last spotted yesterday, in the opposite direction!

Thank you SO much to all of the volunteers who have come out to search for Jackson! Special shout out to Angela, her husband Eddie, Breanne, Mike, Christina, Michele, Nikki and the neighbors of Red Coach Lane, Winderset Road, and everyone who has been out there everyday looking for him! Your efforts to search, create awareness have all led to this positive outcome for Jackson.

Thank you to everyone who has shared his post on various social media pages and groups. This was truly a village effort!

This community we’ve built has sure been amazing.. and one we are extremely proud of! The love and generosity of complete strangers who have the same passion, a love for animals is inspiring.

🚨🚨URGENT - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED🚨🚨

We need volunteers TOMORROW, Saturday January 18th beginning 11:30am for briefing and search to begin starting at 12:00pm.

Today we have had several encounters with Jackson.. almost catching him.. but we need more bodies!!! Jackson is afraid, and won’t come to anyone.. so unfortunately he has to be trapped. We are working with a volunteer wildlife trapper, but we need bodies!

10:45pm Update - thank you SOOOO much to everyone who has ordered AirTags! We have gotten such an overwhelming response of generosity! We have temporarily pulled them from the wishlist as we don’t want to have too much of an oversupply. There are big needs coming.. we will be sharing more soon! Stay tuned Tuxedo Community! We will need you in big ways!

In light of the recent event with Jackson, the Tuxedo Board has decided we would like to equipt all of our Foster’s with AirTags to keep on the dogs at all times.

If anyone is willing, we are seeking donations from our Amazon wishlist of these items. Currently the AirTags are on sale with Amazon!

Update - 2:15 he was just seen on Red Coach Lane around 1:30! Took off running when approached. Reminder to approach slow. He is still in this neighborhood.

Update 12:00pm - Unfortunately our searches from last night did not lead to finding Jackson.

Please please share this post. We need to get the word out to everyone in that area! Sighting tips are our most valuable tool right now.

If you live in this area continue to regularly check your bushes, deck, shed, patio etc. We are desperate to find him, especially before the anticipated snow storm this weekend!
