German Shepherd Rescue of New Jersey (GSRNJ) is a 501c non-profit, breed specific dog rescue dedicated to saving and re-homing German Shepherds in NJ.

The group’s founders and members have an in-depth understanding of German Shepherds, bringing decades of experience caring for, evaluating and re-homing this highly intelligent breed. Our membership is compl

etely manned by volunteers and is virtual. We do not have offices or a kennel facility, but work entirely out of our homes. We use foster homes to care for and house dogs in our program while they await their new pack leaders.

We would like to introduce you to Toons, the newest dog in the GSRNJ program.

He is a 7-10 month old Belgian Malinois. He is up to date on shots but not yet altered. He is very playful and full of energy. He is not very treat oriented but loves his toys. He is both dog and cat friendly. He would be best in a home with kids over 7 and will need an experienced handler. Breed experience is required.

Schwarz and Teufel are looking a forever home and must be adopted together!

Their owner passed away and they ended up in the shelter. Schwarz is an 8 year old male, he much larger than his sister and he is pretty active. Teufel is a 9 year old female, she could lose a few pounds but all she wants is love and pets. They are both super sweet and they must be adopted together. They have tested well with other calm dogs, a meet and greet would be required.

Buddy is still waiting for a foster 😭

Buddy is 2-3 years old and is very friendly. He is heartworm positive and looking for a medical foster. Buddy has tested well with dogs but he must be kept calm during his treatment.

Fostering is incredibly rewarding and would mean the world to Buddy. Volunteers will be with you every step of the way. All expenses are covered by the rescue & you have the option to adopt if you fall in love.

Buddy is a three year old male who has been living in the stressful kennel environment with heartworm. Given his condition, he needs a calm, quiet, foster home to care for him while he undergoes treatment without dogs or small children (all expenses are paid by GSRNJ).

2 is better than 1 right? Well look no further, we have a perfect bonded pair for you: Teufel and Schwarz!! Unfortunately, their owner passed away, so we are looking for a home for these two to stay together in! They both are friendly, great with people, and do well around other dogs (but not cats)!

𝐓𝐞𝐮𝐟𝐞𝐥 - a 9 year old, female, traditional black and tan Shepherd. She’s super sweet and walks very well on the leash for shorter walks. She loves attention and people!!

𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐳 - a 8 year old, male, solid black Shepherd. He’s very curious, walks great on a leash, and gets a little anxious when away from Teufel.

The kennel is no place for a dog going through heartworm treatment. Please help us find Buddy a foster home 🆘

Buddy is 3 years old, not yet neutered, and is very friendly and sweet. We are looking for a foster with no other animals, no young children and a household that is relatively calm. He will need to be kept as calm as possible while getting heart worm treatment.

The rescue pays for all expenses! We just need someone to keep him calm and take care of him during recovery. Fosters always get first right of refusal if you fall in love with your foster and decide to adopt.
