❤️ we are so honored that Clover Hill Animal Hospital chose us as the recipients of their food drive—our dogs are even more excited! ❤️

It’s Giving Tuesday & that means it’s officially the start of our annual Food Donation Drive to benefit the pups of German Shepherd Rescue of New Jersey! Your donation will go three times as far, matched by both Hill’s Pet Nutrition and Clover Hill. Muggins is excited to keep track of donations by filling up his mug of hot cocoa with marshmallows (pssst - nobody tell him dogs can’t have chocolate!). 🥰

🎄 HELLO DECEMBER… AND HELLO FOREVER HOME! 🎄

We’re kicking off the Holiday season in the best way possible — Phoebe has been adopted! 🎁🐾

While everyone else was raking leaves and pulling out their winter clothes, Phoebe was busy landing herself a family who absolutely adores her. Talk about starting December off merry and bright! ✨

She’s now officially spending the holidays where she belongs: cozy, loved, and probably trying to “help” decorate the tree (results may vary).

🎄 Holiday Break Announcement 🎁

As we head into the holiday season, GSRNJ will be taking a break until the new year to give our dedicated volunteers some well-deserved time to rest and enjoy the holidays with their families.

During this period, shelter dogs will remain our top priority, and they will continue to receive the immediate attention they need. We will work with owner referrals as needed, however, response times may be slower than usual as our team steps back to recharge.

A Home By Christmas Starts With a Thankful Heart! ❤️

Rex is grateful for the people rooting for him — now let’s finish his story strong. Share, apply, foster, adopt… any step helps him get home for the holidays. Rex is looking for a calm, experienced home—ideally with someone familiar with German Shepherds or dogs who need a little extra support. He’ll need to be the only pet in the home (no cats, please!), and he’d do best in a quiet environment without children and with limited visitors. He’s a beautiful, traditional-colored GSD who bonds closely with his person. Rex walks nicely on a leash, loves his toys, and is up to date on vaccines and neutered. With the right person—someone patient and willing to continue working with a trainer—Rex has the potential to truly thrive.

FLUGEL NEEDS A HOME!

Flugel is our gorgeous four year old German Shepherd looking for a home. She recently completed her temperament test and wowed everyone with her gentle, tolerant personality. She’s already spayed, microchipped, and completely ready to meet her forever family.

Flugel can be a bit anxious at first, but once she connects with her person, she bonds deeply. She loves knowing her handler is close and really shines when she feels secure. During her evaluation, she handled everything like a pro—ear checks, paw touches, even a full-body massage (which she absolutely enjoyed!). She showed no signs of food or object guarding and knows commands like paw, lay, and heel. She’s also very food-motivated, making training fun and rewarding.

Flugel does need to be the only pet in her home, as she isn’t comfortable around other dogs or cats. But for the right adopter, she will be an incredibly loyal, devoted companion. She thrives with structure, patience, and a confident handler who can help her feel safe and loved.

Princess is our little bundle of wiggles! This Shepherd-mix cutie is all about zoomies, squeaky toys, and doing the world’s happiest puppy hops. After a tough start living in a backyard, she's learning that life is fun, people are kind, and snuggles are basically the best thing ever.
