Hey pet parents! As the temperature rises, it's crucial to keep an eye on our furry friends. Even temps within 80°F can cause heat stroke, especially if your dog has breathing or heat issues.
🚨 Signs to look out for:
- Excessive panting
- Drooling
- Lethargy
- Vomiting
- Uncoordinated movements
During the hot summer months, we recommend just taking your dog out for quick bathroom breaks instead of long walks. Let's keep our pups safe and cool! 🐶 💙

Kerbie was found by a sweet women when she saw him roll onto a curb as she drove by. She stopped and scooped this little six week old boy up and brought him to our team for treatment. 🌞🐾 Summer Heat Reminder from Pennsauken Animal Hospital! 🐾🌞

Hey pet parents! As the summer temperatures rise, it's important to keep our furry friends safe and cool. Here are some vital tips to ensure your pets stay healthy during the heatwave:

1️⃣ Hydration is Key: Make sure your pets have access to fresh, cool water at all times. Dehydration can set in quickly, especially during hot days.

2️⃣ Never Leave Pets in Cars: Even with the windows cracked, the temperature inside a car can skyrocket within minutes. This can lead to heatstroke or even be fatal. If you can't bring your pet inside with you or leave the AC on, it's best to leave them safely at home.

3️⃣ Cool, Shaded Areas: If your pets are outside, ensure they have a shaded area to rest in. Consider a cooling mat or a shallow kiddie pool for extra comfort.

4️⃣ Limit Exercise: Avoid strenuous activities during peak heat hours. Opt for early morning or late evening walks when it's cooler.

🇺🇸 Avoid Human Foods: Many festive foods can be harmful to pets. Keep them on their regular diet and avoid feeding them table scraps.

🇺🇸 Hydration is Key: Ensure your pets have access to plenty of fresh water, especially if spending time outdoors. Prevent dehydration by keeping them cool and shaded.

🇺🇸 ID Tags and Microchips: Ensure your pets are wearing up-to-date ID tags and are microchipped. With increased outdoor activities, there's a higher chance of pets getting lost.
