We did our cross country move from WA to FL over the last week and Odin and Ori have become quite the little travelers! They were able to go to 11 out of 64 national parks in the USA which was awesome! We aren't in Florida just yet though. We are staying at my late grandfather's house in Mississippi until Saturday where we will make the 4.5 hour ride down to Pensacola where we will be living for the next 3 years (or more). Our trip has definitely been very eventful in a good way though! The only bad part was the driving time between destinations and when Ori decided to roll in some sort of diarrhea on the second day of the trip 🤢 We have been very fortunate with the weather the whole way with only some strong winds in Oklahoma and Texas. We are sad to be gone from Washington which became our home and we loved very very much, but we are excited for a fresh start somewhere and new adventures!

2 years ago today I came up with my kennel name Ragnarök Kooikerhondjes! I ended up doing a logo revamp but I still like to use the original artwork for my own merch. Odin is and will forever be the face of Ragnarök Kooikerhondjes! Thank you to everybody who has supported me so far and has given my pups and I lots of love over the years ❤️ let's hope we will start seeing some Ragnarök kooikers in the ring in the next few years 🤞

Today Ori passed her CGC, CGCA, and CGCU and Odin passed his CGCA and CGCU (FINALLY)! AKC confirmation will be awhile since I can't submit until after we move, but this feels like such a huge burden that's been lifted off my chest! It took me 2 years to finally get around to getting Odin's CGCA and CGCU done because I was such a chicken about it 😂 I will have to order their CGCA and CGCU ribbons later so just enjoy the photos with Odin and his test sheets and Ori with her CGC ribbon lol

Quick recap from our weekend at the Timberland Valley Dog Fanciers Association show: Friday Ori went BOB/OHBOB. We had planned to do rally but unfortunately there was a ring conflict with groups and I had to decide which was most important to me at the time. I chose groups because I'm trying to get Ori back up in the rankings. No love in either groups but she performed beautifully!
Saturday Ori went BOB/OHBOB again with no love in groups. Thankfully there was no ring conflict so we were able to finally do our first rally trial where Ori earned her first leg towards her first rally title! She scored an 80 and placed 3rd in her class. She honestly did a lot better than I thought since our main goal was to have fun, see what we need to work on, and learn the flow of a rally trial. It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot including what we need to work on as a team.
This was officially our very last show in WA. I'm not sure when we will be showing again after we move but we still have to work towards Odin's last major to finish his championship which I have faith we can do after a nice long break

Odin and Ori's FastCAT photos from Hurricane Ridge Kennel Club! Thank you to the NorthWest Rhodesian Ridgeback Club for hosting another great event! This was sadly our last FastCAT run in WA before we move and it was a great way to end it on the Peninsula in Sequim. Great people, fantastic weather, and supportive friends both new and old. I will greatly miss seeing all of the regulars we see at FastCAT events. Odin has always been known as the "kool aid dog" at these events when getting called up for his turn because nobody knows how to say the breed name 😂 Odin and Ori ran their final run with their fastest run times for the weekend which was amazing!

Owner Handler Group 4 today at the Hurricane Ridge Kennel Club! Thank you to judge Mr. Brian Meyer for picking my boy out 🤍

Along with showing, Odin and Ori got to run some FastCAT this weekend giving them more points towards their next titles! It was a very busy and very long weekend but we had a great time by going on adventures.

If you've never had professional photos taken of your dog, do it! They make wonderful keepsakes and they are a great way to immortalize your dog forever. I have done several photoshoots with different photographers over the years, and I have cherished every single photo taken of my dogs. The photoshoots make for a fun experience because while the photos make them seem like perfect models, dogs are going to be dogs so have fun with them!

It was a weekend full of CAT and FastCAT for us! 4 runs total of CAT and 4 runs total of FastCAT. Ori had her fastest times yet for FastCAT and is almost running in the 7 second range! 😱 yesterday Ori earned her CA title and today for Odin's birthday he earned his CAA title! It was a great way to spend the weekend as well as Odin's birthday doing what he loves most

2023 was a great year for Ragnarok Kooikers! Odin got his first OH group placement, various group placements in IABCA and UKC, sired his first litter, became the first kooiker to compete and title in weightpull competitions, got numerous titles added to both ends of his name, became a UKC Champion, was recognized for being the top kooiker for trick dog in 2022 at the national specialty this year, and passed all health tests getting his CHIC number! We also welcomed Ori to the family as our potential foundation b*tch 👀 Ori has proven herself to be a force to be reckoned with in the ring by getting various group placements in IABCA and got a Group placement in BPUP at her very first one, got her first AKC point towards her championship title at 8 months old, and got her first few international championship titles. I am really looking forward to what 2024 will bring us next!

Today was a very long day at the Northwest Cluster in Lynden. Odin and I ran back and forth between our ring time and FastCAT all day which was quite exhausting in the heat. Odin did EXTREMELY well in FastCAT today though and he finally got the hang of it. He was so eager to be released and ran 9 seconds both times which gives us a total of 113 points now! If he keeps this up, he will have his BCAT by the end of tomorrow! No love in a very competitive groups but he did very well with the most kind judges. We are all very tired now and ready to relax until tomorrow

Odin did weightpull for the first time ever today! It is possible he is the first of his breed to do this sport. He was definitely hesitant at first since kooikers are quite a sensitive breed. But he lives to please and he toughened up and pushed through it like a champ! He pulled 240 pounds approximately today which gave him 2 qualifying scores! I am beyond proud of Odin today and all that he is willing to do once he puts his mind to it! ❤️

Odin won BOB/OHBOB/BOW today at the Peninsula Dog Fanciers Club in Bremerton, WA! That's another point added towards his CH title! 🥳🎊

Handling class last night! We haven't been to handling class in about 8 months so it was nice to get back into it and improve on our techniques for when it comes time to get in the ring again in a couple weeks!
