When God doesn’t seem to be answering our prayers in the way we expect, then we must trust there’s something God knows that we don’t know.

Even when what we see in front of us feels confusing. Even when what we see in front of us isn’t at all what we thought it would look like. Even when we don’t agree that this is good. We don’t have to understand God to trust Him.

C. S. Lewis created a beautiful word picture I like to think of when I cannot understand what God is doing. He told us to think of ourselves as a house God is renovating. We think we know what work needs to be done—maybe some small repairs here and there—and then He starts knocking down walls. We are confused and feeling the pain of this level of rebuilding. But maybe His vision is much different than ours. “You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.”

We see a cottage. God sees a palace. We see destruction. God sees construction. We see only what the human mind can imagine. God is building something we cannot even fathom. It’s not what we wanted, but it is so very good. And in the end, maybe it’s not what God is working on but how God is working in us that matters most of all.

Don’t give up hope, sweet friend. He is faithful, and we can trust Him.

This is well said if you aren’t a breeder doing things the correct way you have no idea what goes into a baby. This will give you a pretty good idea.

Copied from another breeder..

POTENTIAL OWNER: How much is the puppy?
BREEDER: $1,500 USD
POTENTIAL OWNER: What?? It's way too expensive!!
BREEDER: What do you think would be a good price?
POTENTIAL OWNER: No more than $500. You breeders are so over priced.
BREEDER: I am sorry you see it this way, why don't you try it yourself?
POTENTIAL OWNER: But I've never done it!
BREEDER: For FREE I can teach you how to do it, and in addition you will have the knowledge to do it again.
POTENTIAL OWNER: Perfect, thank you!
BREEDER: To start you will need a female(average minimal cost $1500 and up). Also a male(average minimal cost $1500 and up) or semen (average $1000 and up). You will need to do genetic & health testing on them, averages about $750 per dog. Raise and provide daily care and feeding for 2 years.
POTENTIAL OWNER: But I don't have that much money...
BREEDER: For $500 you can raise a litter for me and then keep one of the puppies. Obviously, you also have to pay the cost of whelping & care.
POTENTIAL OWNER: I can do that.
BREEDER: OK so I have a female due to whelp in 2 weeks. You will need to be available 24/7 around the clock for at least 8 weeks to help with delivery and care. Possibly tube or bottle feed puppies every 2-3 hours if the mom is low on milk the first couple weeks.
POTENTIAL OWNER: Eight weeks?? it's way too much time for me! I have to work.
BREEDER: You may also need the reproductive vet to do xrays($200-$500), possibly progesterone testing($75-$250) & a C-section($1000-$5000) and initial vet care on pups until old enough to be placed. Pups vets exams ($250 and up depending on how many puppies are in the litter)
Have on hand a scale, thermometer, latex gloves, sanitizer, absorbent tissues, scissors, hemostats, heating pad, whelping box, blankets, cleaning supplies, appropriate food with supplements for mothers, formula, medications & hand feeding supplies in case of emergency....
POTENTIAL OWNER: But I don't have all these things!
BREEDER: For $1000 you can buy them.
POTENTIAL OWNER: Ummm .... You know, I think it might be better if I just buy a puppy.
BREEDER: Wise decision.
For us breeders there are no vacations or holidays, while you go to visit with family & friends we are home at our dogs side caring for them. It is a no breaks commitment.
THIS IS THE REALITY
When you choose a professional, you don't only pay for the puppy but also:
Tools, knowledge, experience, love, time, sacrifices, etc...

If you understood my words and not just my heart....I would tell you, the minute you are born, I worry.

Don't misunderstand, I love you fiercely. But I'm also weighted with worry.

Will you thrive?
Will your new humans love and honor you?
Will you be afforded the opportunity to grow, learn, make mistakes, & have lots of fun with a trusted human?

Will you burdened with worry for your human that you become anxious?
Will you be healthy?
Or taken too soon from us by tragedy? Once I hand you over to new hands, my wish for you is that you are gifted a human that is committed. Dedicated.

Understands YOUR needs. Makes sure they are FIRM but KIND. Shows you the world is safe. That you are not responsible for them.That dogs are friendly, but you don’t have to engage if you don’t want too.That people are kind, but you are not forced to be hugged and handled if you are uncomfortable. That your stress signals are caught, and you are protected. That you know without a doubt your human has your back, just like you have theirs.

That if you join a family with children, you are given the respect of uninterrupted sleep and freewill play. That the children are taught to not taunt or tease. That they learn compassion as you teach them unconditional love.

That you won’t be returned because you cried at night in your kennel your first nights away from home. Or had a few accidents in the house, even though you were given far too much space to truly understand. Or maybe chewed up an expensive shoe that they gave you access too. That they understand you do not know their rules or expectations and that you will need them to be a leader.

That they will laugh at your silliness and puppy zoomies, because far too many of us know that your time on earth is far too short.

That you will want to do good and be good, but you have to be taught.

Given time.
Patience.
Training.

That taking home a puppy is a considerable decision. And not something bought on a whim without a true dedication to YOU.

That you have needs that need to be met in order to be happy and fulfilled and that you need a human that empowers you and shows you that no matter what, humans can be faithful and nonjudgmental companions too.

My story with the miniature schnauzer began after the death of my mom who had Alzheimer’s. I’d taken care of her for a few years. After she passed the home was way to quiet my husband worked out of town so it seemed every sound I heard startled me knowing I was home alone. I’d always wanted a miniature schnauzer but for one reason or the other I’d never got one. That’s when my search began far and wide until my daughter found Gracie. She’s a beautiful black miniature schnauzer with a heart of gold. I’d never really know the true love of a dog until she joined our family. It’s hard to explain the love of a schnauzer until you’ve experienced it. I wanted to share the love of this beautiful breed. That’s when we brought Sargent into our home. After they were old enough they had a liter of 6 beauties 5 girls and 1 boy. So if you want a special kind of love try a miniature schnauzer you’ll never be sorry 😊
