We strive to improve the lives of animals and the people who love them. We rescue and rehabilitate dogs, cats, and farm animals and help them find their forever families. You can find our Adoption Center tucked between the Express and Calvin Klein stores at The Outlets at Park City in Kimball Junction. We work to save the most vulnerable animals in our region's shelters. Many of them are overcrowd

ed and underfunded, leaving thousands of cats and dogs to an uncertain fate. We take these animals in, even if they have a complicated or costly medical problem, are seniors, are injured, are pregnant or nursing, or have special needs. Meet Penelope, the sweetest and incredibly resilient pup!

In October, Penelope found herself in an overcrowded California shelter, limping from an old injury. X-rays revealed untreated trauma to her femoral head (her doggy hip), requiring a surgery called an FHO (femoral head osteotomy) to relieve her pain. Unfortunately, such a surgery was impossible at the municipal shelter.
That’s where Nuzzles stepped in. We welcomed Penelope with open arms, knowing our skilled veterinarian could give her the care she needed.

On December 12th, Penelope underwent her life-changing surgery, and her spirits have already soared! She’s well on her way to recovery, though she may always have a slightly unique gait (meaning how she looks when she walks).

Penelope adores everyone she meets—humans and dogs alike! She’s playful, affectionate, and loves leaning in for attention. Whether it’s going for walks or simply being by your side, Penelope’s greatest joy is making you smile.
While she may not be a mountain climber, her determination to be your best friend is boundless. Penelope is ready to start her next chapter with a loving family. Could it be yours?

Give a dog a holiday to remember!

Nuzzles & Co. is inviting YOU to host a holiday sleepover with one of our adorable Nuzzles Pups! Spend the Christmas holiday making memories with a furry friend and giving them a cozy, festive experience in a loving home.

By fostering a pup over the holiday, you’ll give them a calming and fun break while also allowing our hardworking staff a chance to enjoy a little extra time with their families. It’s a wonderful way to share the joy of the season and make a difference for animals in our care.

Pick-Up Options:

Monday or Tuesday, Noon–4 PM from the Rescue Ranch

Drop-Off: Return your holiday guest the day after Christmas to the same location you picked them up at, between Noon–4 PM.

During Piper’s time(s) at Nuzzles and Co., I had the privilege of working with her and getting to know the incredible dog she truly is. From the beginning, it was clear she was smart, kind, and eager to connect, but the stress of the shelter environment often made it hard for others to see. She had been adopted and returned twice at no fault of her own, she just hadn't found her true home yet. Piper was one of those hidden gems—a dog who needed just a little patience and understanding to shine.

I remember the day Bash came back for her. He had fostered Piper before, and on that final day, he told me he wanted to take her permanently if he could. In that moment, everything seemed to fall into place. I couldn’t think of a better family to care for Piper. Bash and his family saw in her what we at Nuzzles always knew: she was the best dog, just waiting for the right people to look past the shelter stress and see her heart.

Now, hearing about Piper’s life with Bash’s parents on their beautiful property in New Mexico, it’s hard to imagine a more perfect ending to her story. She’s thriving, happy, and loved—finally living the life every dog deserves. It’s a reminder that sometimes the best things are right in front of us, waiting for the chance to be seen.

As Bash shares, "I don’t believe that one is taking a ‘chance’ with an older dog. You simply accept them, provide a good life, and reap the rewards. I would have been happy if anyone had adopted her, but knowing that she now has a great life in New Mexico almost makes me want to tell everyone, ‘I told you so!’" Piper’s story is the kind of happy ending we all hope for.

A huge thank you to Amanda, Lauryn, and the Brighton High School Business Club for hosting the Pupsgiving Fundraiser as part of their DECA project!

The students went all out—organizing an online store filled with donated items and sold pizza to their classmates. We brought some of our adorable puppies for students to cuddle, which was a hit! There was even a 45-minute line just to snuggle a pup, and the smiles said it all.

Thanks to their hard work and creativity, the Pupsgiving Fundraiser raised an incredible $1,300 to support the animals in our care.

Say hello to darling Corona! This sweet, resilient mama dog was rescued from a high-kill shelter along with her four adorable puppies (Temecula, Rubidoux, Norco, and Rebel), just hours before they were scheduled to be put down. Now safe and sound, Corona is ready to find a home where she can finally relax and enjoy the love she deserves.

Corona has a gentle, loving personality. She’s shown incredible strength in caring for her puppies, and now it’s her turn to receive love and care in return. While Corona can be a little protective of her food, she’s a smart, silly girl who just needs a family that understands and respects her space during mealtime. For this reason, we recommend a home with older children who can be mindful of her boundaries.

If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who has been through a lot but still has so much love to give, Corona could be the perfect match for you. Come and see her goofy smile in person, she would love to meet you!

Say hello to Rubidoux, a sweet and spirited 9-month-old mixed breed with a lively personality and an endless supply of affection!

This lucky girl was rescued just in time with her mom (Corona) and siblings from a crowded shelter in California. Rubidoux is now looking for her forever family to share her gentle, loving nature with.

She’s friendly with other dogs and absolutely adores playtime—it’s her favorite way to make new friends! Rubidoux is eager to please and has been making great progress with basic training, especially when tasty treats are involved. She’s smart, attentive, and ready to learn more with a family who will help her become her best self.

When the playtime winds down, Rubidoux is all about snuggles and pets. She’s searching for a loving home where she can continue to blossom, surrounded by care and patience. Some cool things have happened recently, and we want to share it with you! We are thankful for the generosity of this community.

Cheryl and her husband found out about us online and decided to help. They came by the Adoption Center with toys, cleaning supplies, and a cash donation to support the animals at Nuzzles. It’s acts of kindness like this that make such a difference for the pets in our care.

Pet Supplies Plus in Lehi also brought the holiday spirit by creating a Giving Tree. Their customers came together to donate supplies for our dogs and cats, turning their tree into something truly magical for shelter pets.

If you’re feeling the holiday spirit, there are so many ways to get involved! You can organize a donation drive with your workplace, church, or a group of friends, or simply drop off supplies like wet dog food, wet cat food, treats, toys, or cleaning supplies like laundry soap, paper towels, and bleach. Every contribution big or small helps spread kindness to the animals in our care!

Peach came to Nuzzles & Co. from the reservation with her puppies and waited nearly two years for her perfect match. She needed someone who could see past her timid exterior and give her the time and space to bloom. She found that—and so much more—with Rami and his family.

Rami saw something special in Peach the moment they met, and even though the road wasn’t always easy, their connection only grew stronger. From her cautious beginnings to the playful, confident dog she is today, Peach has transformed in ways only love can inspire.

Now, she’s has claimed her place in Rami’s family, sharing her unique affection with gentle nose boops and her signature smile that lights up the room. Stories like Peach’s remind us of the incredible impact adoption can have—not just for the animals but for the families who welcome them home.

This holiday season, we’re working hard to raise $100,000 to continue saving and transforming lives, just like Peach’s. Her journey from scared and uncertain to loved and confident wouldn’t have been possible without the support of people like you.

Here's the adorable round two of Rap Royalty! These 8-week-old cuties came to us with the other litter of our furry friends from RezRoads Rescue, and while they’re not related to the first litter, they’ve got just as much charm and personality to share. This bundle of mixed breed cuties are named in continuation of the celebration of Rapper the Cat's Foster to Adopt, NOW Adoption!

Fluffy, playful, and full of adorable energy, these puppies are the whole package. They’re snuggly, adventurous, and confident—perfect for families of all ages, and maybe even your dog-savvy cat! Their little playful barks, sweet kisses and happy tail wags are bound to melt your heart. We expect them to grow into medium-sized dogs, but right now, they’re all about belly rubs, silly antics, and making a bond with you.

Straight outta the Navajo Nation and into our hearts—meet this adorable Rap Pack! These 10-week-old puppies were rescued from animal control with along with another litter of puppies by the amazing team at Rez Roads Rescue. After all of the puppies made their way to the Rescue Ranch for a fresh start.

These little stars also arrived on the same day we found out that Rapper the Cat, one of our long-time residents, was heading off to his Foster-to-Adopt home. To celebrate, we named this crew after Rap legends: Che Noir, Lil Simz, Snoop Dogg, and Big Daddy Kane!

These pups are packed with personality, sweetness and charm. They’re smaller than many of the dogs we rescue from the region, but we think they will grow up to be a medium size. Confident, curious, and always ready to explore, they’re great with kids and love making friends. They’re also expert snugglers and have the cutest little grunts and noises that will melt your heart. Oh, and did we mention they’re treat-motivated? Training them is going to be so much fun!

Meet Pinocchio! He will be at our Adoption Center today, from 12:00 - 4:45pm.

The handsome guy is a ten-month-old mixed breed with the energy and heart of a true puppy, and he's ready to share it all with his new family! He loves people of all sizes and he's happiest by your side, whether it's cuddling on the couch or happily trotting along on a walk. After a fun play session or a good run, he's content to settle down with his favorite toys, making him the perfect blend of lively and laid-back.

On outdoor adventures, Pinocchio shines as the ultimate trail buddy! With a long line, he explores with confidence while still keeping an eye on you, responding to whistles and checking back with just a call. He's picking up on commands like "sit and "down and is eager to learn more with a bit of structure and some tasty treats.

Pando's Exciting Journey! After Pando's appearance on the Puppy Bowl, our shelter was flooded with over 200 applications from eager potential adopters. Reviewing each application was no small feat, but after careful consideration, we were thrilled to narrow it down to just five perfect matches. The decision was tough, and ultimately, of the five remaining, we decided to go with the first applicant. Pando's new adopter went above and beyond to ensure his transition to his new home was seamless. They flew in from Arizona on Tuesday, spent the day getting to know Pando, and rented a car to drive him to his new home. Since being home, they report that things are great and Pando goes on long walks in the park or at the lake every day. In addition to all the excitement surrounding Pando, we had an incredible week of adoptions! The last of Pando's nine siblings found a loving home on a trial adoption just yesterday, marking another successful chapter in our rescue journey. However, Pando's mother, Ocean, is still patiently awaiting her forever family at Nuzzles. She's a sweet and gentle dog who is just waiting for the right family to welcome her with open arms. Leading up to Pando's big moment on TV, we captured a lot of images and videos of him exploring our town, preparing for his spotlight. Although he only received about 22 seconds of air time, we wanted to share a bit more of his journey with you. Shout outs to @TroveGalleryParkCity, @AtticusParkCityUtah, and @StRegisDV! Lastly, a huge thank you to Puppy Bowl XX for this incredible opportunity to feature one of our beloved rescue pups. You may have seen a recent post where we shared about a sweet dog named Lexi at Summit County Animal Control. At the time, we were unable to bring Lexi into our program due to a lack of kennel space. However, an amazing foster stepped up and offered to take Lexi so that we could rescue her! We were able to pick her up on December 31st — what a great way to finish off the year! Now, Lexi is enjoying the comforts of a loving home while she waits for her forever family. The work that we do wouldn't be possible without the help of amazing volunteers and fosters.
