We strive to improve the lives of animals and the people who love them. We rescue and rehabilitate dogs, cats, and farm animals and help them find their forever families. You can find our Adoption Center tucked between the Express and Calvin Klein stores at The Outlets at Park City in Kimball Junction. We work to save the most vulnerable animals in our region's shelters. Many of them are overcrowd

ed and underfunded, leaving thousands of cats and dogs to an uncertain fate. We take these animals in, even if they have a complicated or costly medical problem, are seniors, are injured, are pregnant or nursing, or have special needs. Over the last 30 years, we've saved over 25,000 lives. We'll stop at nothing to build a world . Thank you in advance for your support! Thank you to two of our long-standing and faithful supporters, Jane Howze and John Mann, for their generous gift of a $2000 matching grant. Jane and John, thank you for being some of our biggest fans and advocates over the years!

Our faithful supporters make it possible for us to be there for pets like Midge, who was adopted as a puppy but then returned to us after a year. As she grew up, her adopter realized that Midge was very social and was happiest and most confident in the company of other dogs, and their busy schedule couldn’t provide her with the companionship she needed.

Once Midge returned to us, we immediately set to work getting to know her better and trying to find a loving home with other dogs where she could feel safe and build her confidence with the companionship of another dog. Midge is currently on a trial adoption and seems to be fitting in wonderfully, and we hope to see her adoption finalized soon!

The Sentowski family was staying at the St. Regis for a ski vacation, and on the last day of their stay, we held a Snuggle Lounge at the hotel. They instantly fell in love with Moon (now Regis) but had to return home to FL. However, they just couldn’t forget about the little guy, so the husband flew back to Park City a few days later to adopt him!

Thank you to our next matching grant sponsors, Jacki Zenner and The Jacquelyn and Gregory Zenner Foundation for their generous $5000 gift! Your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar by this grant, so you can make an even bigger impact for rescue animals like Shepherds Pie, a sweet tabby boy who was rescued from a local animal shelter this summer.

He came to Nuzzles with a large wound on his face that wouldn’t go away. Our veterinary team suspected that he had a food allergy, and putting him on a special diet helped his wound heal.

Unfortunately, they also discovered that he was positive for FIV, a disease that compromises the immune system and is contagious to other cats. But that didn’t dampen this spunky guy’s zest for life, and he soon found a forever home with an adopter who is committed to doing everything to help him feel his best.

Thanks to the generosity of our amazing community of supporters, we are able to help pets who would not be able to get the care that they need in shelters that do not have the same veterinary resources that we are so honored to be able to provide. We couldn’t do it without you!

We are happy to announce our next matching grant – $2,500 generously donated by Wendy and Mel Lavitt. Wendy was one of the original founding members of Nuzzles & Co (originally Summit County Friends of Animals) back in 1990, and she has been an integral part of the organization for the past 34 years.

Over the years, Wendy and Mel have helped thousands of homeless animals through their commitment to and support of our mission, and we are so grateful for all that they have done to help animals in need like Opal, a little dog who was recently rescued after being found scared and alone by a kind stranger in Kamas.

When she stopped her car, Opal jumped right in. Opal was matted and dirty and had a broken leash dangling from her collar, so the woman took Opal to Summit County Animal Control in hopes that someone would come looking for her.

When no one came for her, we rescued Opal and brought her to our Rescue Ranch where she was seen by our veterinary team. While shaving her matted fur, they noticed bumps under her skin, and they later removed three small metal BBs.

The vet team also repaired Opal’s cherry eye, treated her infected ears, and spayed her. Now, Opal is recovering in a caring foster home where she is safe and loved and can rest, take some time to get healthy, and prepare to find her forever family.

Tomorrow is Live PC Give PC, and Nuzzles & Co needs your help more than ever. Your donation makes a direct and lifesaving impact — helping us rescue and find loving homes for animals in need across our community and beyond.

We’re also proud to provide critical services like low-cost spay/neuter and vaccinations through our robust community clinic, a vital resource as the cost of veterinary care continues to rise. However, adoption and clinic fees cover only about 30% of our budget, and while our annual gala is seen as a huge success — and it is — it only funds about two months of operations.

That leaves a significant gap we need to fill every year. Right now, we are not on track to meet our budget for this year, and we especially need your help to continue our lifesaving work.

Tonight, we shine a spotlight on the amazing Melissa Jackson!

Melissa has been a true gift to Nuzzles & Co. since she connected us with the Maven District in Salt Lake, where we’ve held two successful adoption events. After the first event, we invited Melissa to volunteer at the Nuzzles Rescue Ranch, and we quickly saw the incredible connection she has with our dogs. She’s not only one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, but also someone who truly understands dog behavior, enrichment needs, and how to communicate with our furry friends in a way that brings out the best in them.

We are continually inspired by the positive impact Melissa has on our dogs—her work has made a tangible difference in their progress. She has a special way of getting to know each dog and highlighting their unique personalities. And it doesn’t stop there—after each visit, Melissa shares beautiful posts on social media about the dogs she’s worked with, helping them gain even more attention from potential adopters.

Her energy, ideas, and suggestions have been invaluable to us, and we are so grateful for everything she does for our dogs and our community. Melissa’s contributions go far beyond what we could have hoped for, and we are endlessly grateful for everything she does for our dogs and our community.

This older gentleman earned his name after being found wandering near a jail in Salt Lake, and we’re pretty sure he’s been stealing hearts ever since. Jail Bird is the definition of a perfect companion—affectionate, curious, and always ready to be where you are. Whether you’re working at your desk or relaxing on the couch, he’ll happily settle in next to you, offering his silent but steady support.
Despite being a senior with a touch of arthritis, Jail Bird isn’t one to let that slow him down. He still loves to explore his surroundings. When he looks up at you with those mesmerizing green eyes, you won’t be able to resist giving him a well-deserved scratch behind the ears.
Jail Bird gets along well with other cats and might even adjust to life with a dog, as long as he gets a slow and steady introduction. He’s currently living his best life in the community cat room at the Rescue Ranch, but what he’s really waiting for is a forever home where he can enjoy his golden years in comfort, surrounded by love.

Pando's Exciting Journey! After Pando's appearance on the Puppy Bowl, our shelter was flooded with over 200 applications from eager potential adopters. Reviewing each application was no small feat, but after careful consideration, we were thrilled to narrow it down to just five perfect matches. The decision was tough, and ultimately, of the five remaining, we decided to go with the first applicant. Pando's new adopter went above and beyond to ensure his transition to his new home was seamless. They flew in from Arizona on Tuesday, spent the day getting to know Pando, and rented a car to drive him to his new home. Since being home, they report that things are great and Pando goes on long walks in the park or at the lake every day. In addition to all the excitement surrounding Pando, we had an incredible week of adoptions! The last of Pando's nine siblings found a loving home on a trial adoption just yesterday, marking another successful chapter in our rescue journey. However, Pando's mother, Ocean, is still patiently awaiting her forever family at Nuzzles. She's a sweet and gentle dog who is just waiting for the right family to welcome her with open arms. Leading up to Pando's big moment on TV, we captured a lot of images and videos of him exploring our town, preparing for his spotlight. You may have seen a recent post where we shared about a sweet dog named Lexi at Summit County Animal Control. At the time, we were unable to bring Lexi into our program due to a lack of kennel space. However, an amazing foster stepped up and offered to take Lexi so that we could rescue her! We were able to pick her up on December 31st — what a great way to finish off the year! Now, Lexi is enjoying the comforts of a loving home while she waits for her forever family. The work that we do wouldn't be possible without the help of amazing volunteers and fosters. Early this spring, we received a plea for help from a distraught person who had a young kitten who was suffering from seizures. They were no longer able to care for the kitten, and their veterinarian had been unable to diagnose the problem, so we took him in, and our veterinary team got to work right away trying to figure out just what was causing his issues. Dr. Burnside, our veterinarian who specializes in cats, discovered that he had a fungal infection in his cute little nose that had spread into his brain and was causing the seizures.
