The saga of Frisco and his allergies continues. At this point we are wondering if he is allergic to something environmental at his foster’s house. Is anyone willing to short-term foster Frisco so we can test this theory? He is dog and cat friendly 🐶🐱 Please share and help us find Frisco a new temp-foster home (or possibly a forever adoptive home!) 🙏
Beth had her dental a while back, and you can see she’s feeling great and acting quite sassy. Her spay surgery has been scheduled for mid-April which means she will be adoptable very soon. If you’re interested, Beth would make a great playmate for anyone who has a lonely dog at home! #adoptbeth #cutie
This video might not look like much, but you have to remember where these two little dogs started from. Both Duke and Beth absolutely hated the leash when they first came in to our rescue. Their favorite move was the alligator roll combined with biting the leash to get the “pressure” to stop. With the help of a trainer, we’ve put in a ton of work; and now look at this result 😍 Duke is available for adoption to the right home. Beth is still awaiting her spay surgery, but will be adoptable soon.
TW: DEATH OF HUMAN This is the story of Baby Girl… and yes, she is as sweet as her name would lead you to believe. This lovely little lady came to us because she not only lost her home, but she lost her mama too (sadly, due to alcoholism). Her mom had been sick for years, and Baby Girl stayed by her mom’s side until the very end. After her owner passed, remaining family members didn’t know what to do with Baby Girl. Fortunately, one of them reached out to us for help. This poor girl has seen and been through so much, there was no way we were going to turn her away. And we’re so glad because Baby Girl is the sweetest, easiest, cuddliest 30 lb. pup around. She is good with dogs and cats, great in the crate, and potty trained. Even with her being a senior, we know she will be adopted easily. It’s been years since Baby Girl had been to the vet. Fortunately, we were able to get her an appointment right away. We updated her vaccinations, got her nails trimmed, and ran labwork. Her mom had previously had Baby Girl spayed and microchipped, so that was great news! But Baby Girl is now in dire need of a dental as well as having some masses removed. Her vet visit totaled $294. A dental and mass removal will be an additional $500. We desperately need to raise funds for Baby Girl’s medical needs. Donations can be made from our FB page or through PayPal and Zelle: [email protected]. You’ve been so wonderful helping us with all our medical dogs, won’t you please help us once more?
❗️FUNDS STILL NEEDED❗️We are a little over ½ way towards reaching our fundraising goal for Beth. Her infected teeth are in horrific shape – causing her pain and most likely aggravating her heart issues. We are committed to getting her the dental she so desperately needs. Please help by donating towards Beth’s fundraiser or through PayPal or Zelle: [email protected]. If you are unable to donate, we would greatly appreciate a share 🙏

And lastly, please go check your pet’s teeth today (paying close attention to the molars)! Dental disease puts your pet’s organs at risk – namely the heart, liver, and kidneys. Taking care of dental issues early on will keep your pet healthier, longer 💙
Please help us raise money for Beth’s much needed medical. PayPal or Zelle: [email protected]. Link to fundraiser in comments.

We are so grateful to see Duke is feeling better and getting his energy back. And thanks to the pack, he’s also slowly coming out of his shell and in the beginning stages of learning to trust humans. We don’t know what happened to Duke in his prior life, but it’s clear this poor guy was greatly mistreated 🥺 He’s VERY defensive and hates to be touched. We know Duke is going to be a project dog that will take a lot of time and patience, but we are committed to the process. If you would like to donate to Duke’s care, we would really appreciate your support. Donations can be made from our FB page. We also accept Zelle or PayPal at: [email protected]
🆘 Duke needs help 🆘 Duke showed us very clearly today that something is wrong, and that he’s in pain. We don’t know exactly what is going on, but it’s easy to see his hind end is bothering him. We knew his hindquarters were lacking muscle tone, but now he’s presenting with increased instability. We’ve cancelled his dental that was scheduled for tomorrow and are instead taking him to the vet for a full set of x-rays to get a better picture of what could be going on. We know it’s the holidays and a terrible time to ask, but we could really use your help 🩵 Donations can be made via the Donate button on our page, or through Zelle or PayPal: [email protected]
Duke’s notes at County read: “Once leash was placed, dog immediately began thrashing, biting leash, spinning and rolling onto back, defecating and urinating. Jumped out of kennel, continued to thrash on leash. Biting leash, thrashing.” After careful review, we knew we’d have our hands full with a little dog that needed serious work. It’s always heartbreaking to see the ugly side of how these dogs are when they’ve been dumped, abandoned, or left to die. But it’s heartwarming and rewarding to watch them blossom and heal both mentally and physically. Duke’s healing is going to take patience and time. Please support our rescue efforts with a donation for Duke’s care. Donations can be made on our FB page or via PayPal or Zelle to: [email protected]. Thank you all so much for your support. As always, Shares and Likes are also appreciated 🩵
We love little Tessa so much 💞 Only 18 pounds AND dog-friendly, we know she is going to make a great addition to someone’s home. Tessa had bloodwork drawn up; and since everything looks good, she’ll have her dental done on Wednesday. Please continue to share and donate towards her care. Donations can be made through Zelle or PayPal: [email protected]. We are still in disbelief that this sweetheart was scheduled for euthanasia. Your support means everything! And we can’t do this work without you 🩵
TESSA NEEDS YOUR HELP!!We saved Tessa (Countess #A4912066) from certain death, but she needs your help to get her the required medical care before she can be adopted out to her forever home. This sweet little #borderterrier #chinesecrested wasn’t even at the shelter a week when they deemed her not worthy because she was scared and defensive. Since she has been in foster care, Tessa has started to come out of her shell and show us what a gentle sweetheart she is. This precious girl does have a few lumps/bumps, teeth that need to be addressed, and bloodwork that needs to be done. You can show Tessa some love by donating to her medical fundraiser. Donations for her care can also be made through Zelle or PayPal: [email protected]. We appreciate your help!
This chocolate beauty is Clara. She is only 3 years old, but you can see she’s a really happy, wiggly girl who knows how to sit and gently take treats. I spied her on my last visit to MCACC and instantly fell in love. Please share and let’s find Clara her forever people!! Clara #a4908462 is currently at the west shelter in kennel F-162.
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Gertie. Back in July, we noticed Gertie having some intermittent pain. She had been to the vet multiple times, had x-rays of her back and hips, and was subsequently put on a staggered course of steroids and pain killers to help with what was perceived nerve pain. The last few days, Gertie started to have increasingly more pain so we took her to the vet this afternoon for another visit. A new vet had new x-rays done – this time with a focus on her head and neck area. These new x-rays provided the answer – Cancer. Her cervical vertebrae was completely deformed and sadly the damage was irreparable. There was nothing we could do to help or make her better. The vet said there are many nerves surrounding the damaged area and he felt Gertie was in immense pain. The only humane option was to let Gertie go. So, at 5:30 PM, Gertie took her last breath 💔 Some of you may remember that we rescued Gertie off the euthanasia list earlier this January. She had been riddled with painful mammary tumors, but surgery was successful, and she was a happy and snuggly girl for the time we were blessed to have with her. We are grateful we got to spend the last 8 months with this special girl and show her all the love she was so deserving of. Run free sweet mama 🌈
Astro update! ASTRO IS HOME!! Thank you to everyone who shared his story, posted words of encouragement, and took an interest in this special guy. He has found the most amazing home where he has a loving family with 10 acres to explore and be the estate dog he was bred to be. We’re so happy for Astro’s outcome. If you are interested in adopting a dog, please check out www.pepperspals.org to view some of our pups that still need homes!
