Somehow I blinked and now my little rattery has 650 followers!!

Thank you all for your interest and support! I pour a lot of love, sweat, and tears into these rats and it’s an honor to be able to provide happy, healthy rats to my community of fellow rat lovers.

(I wrote this 11 years ago, when I had my very first mischief)
Things to remember about rats:

If you get them a new cage, they will systematically check every inch for a spot to escape. Like the raptors in Jurassic Park with the electric fence.

If you make them a toy or hammock, don't spend too much time on it. It WILL be nibbled on. Make them toys anyway.

If it can make noise, they will use it to make noise. They think its funny.

Anything close enough to their cage to be pulled in, will be pulled in and nibbled.

They know that your armpits are ticklish. If you plan on putting a rat in your shirt, plan on enduring whiskers and tiny cold noses. They really like to go in your shirt though. They will talk you into it.

Your food? Hahahaha! No. It's theirs. Give it back.

You want your rat to go there? No way, not happening.

You DON'T want your rat to go there? Well, that's the only place they want to go now!

They don't live very long. So try to indulge their mischievous little ways while you have the chance. You will miss the chaos when they are gone.

Hello! Here is some bean spam for you lovely folks!

I am mildly (intensely) obsessed with this line. Dumbo, velveteen and silvermane, and I’m getting blues and pearls and black self! Pinch me!

It almost distracts me from the fact that none of my Peach Tea girls are giving me litters.

It’s been a very chaotic few weeks for me, my grandmother has been to the ER 3 times since Thanksgiving. I appreciate everyone’s patience with me getting back to them about rats.

I still have lots of boys ready for 🏠 asap. And girls growing up who will be ready soon.

I will try my best to respond to pending applications this weekend. At this time, I cannot promise that I will get to everyone.

I may take a hiatus after January, just depending on how things go. I’ve had several rats from my Peach Tea line paired up for months with no beans, which is very disheartening for me as that is my very favorite line. I have Handsome and Sypha paired up right now, who are both from outcrosses of Peach Tea and just wonderful rats all around, two of my very favorites. Handsome is a Dumbo Dove (or possibly Blue) DWS Rex, Sypha is a Dumbo Mink self Silvermane. Here is hoping they give me a litter.

I’ll be spending some extra time in the rat room after work tonight. I’ll get videos of the boys that are ready for 🏠.

No girls ready at this time, but the amazing Fuzzy Peach Exotics has girls ready to reserve!

I have 3 litters born last month who will be ready when they are 8 weeks old. I haven’t picked my holdbacks from those litters yet, but I’ll get some videos of them as well.

I am going to go through applications and reach out to folks tonight. Those wanting males, we can schedule a pick up right away. Those wanting females will be put on the waitlist for late December/early January pick up.

Moving forward, I am going to be donating $10 of every rat adoption fee ($55 per rat, this has been my standard adoption fee for over a year now) to PLANNED PARENTHOOD!!!

Just a friendly FYI that it is extremely dangerous to let your rats interact with your dog or cat. It puts the animals at risk, and the only benefit is whatever enjoyment the owner gets from this.

As a pet owner, it is your responsibility to prioritize the safety and wellbeing of the animals in your care.

Please don’t take unnecessary risks with your pets lives. 🖤
