Turkey, Oat, and Carrot Stew for Dogs 🦃🥕🥣🐾
This Turkey, Oat, and Carrot Stew is a hearty, nutritious meal that’s perfect for your furry friend. Packed with lean protein, fiber, and essential vitamins, it’s a wholesome homemade dish your dog will love.

Ingredients:
1 pound lean ground turkey
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 cup chopped carrots (small cubes or shredded)
1/2 cup chopped green beans (optional, for added nutrients)
3 cups water (or unsalted chicken broth)
1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for added healthy fats)
Instructions:
1. Cook the Turkey
In a large pot, heat the olive oil (if using) over medium heat. Add the ground turkey and cook until fully browned, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks.

2. Add Vegetables
Stir in the chopped carrots and green beans (if using). Cook for 2-3 minutes to slightly soften the vegetables.

3. Add Water and Oats
Pour in the water or unsalted chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the rolled oats.

4. Simmer the Stew
Let the stew simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are fully cooked and the vegetables are tender. Add more water if needed to achieve the desired consistency.

5. Cool and Serve
Allow the stew to cool completely before serving it to your dog.

Storage:
Refrigerate: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Freeze: Freeze individual portions for up to 1 month. Thaw before serving.

Third year of being involved in this amazing charity event. They had a record breaking night and we are so happy that we were able to be a small part of that! We donated a mini cavapoo for the live auction. The family that won was so excited to snuggle her! She has an amazing family and the $6000 winning bid goes to research, scholarships, and education for the muscular dystrophy association. So amazing!

I need to give another appreciation post for Brandon! He saves us daily by driving EVERYWHERE…..and I mean EVERYWHERE! He picks up dogs for breeding, takes dogs to vet appointments, runs 1 million pet related errands a week, drives to Queen Creek for dog ultrasounds, cleans the puppy room, cleans the backyard, loves on each puppy and always gets super attached to at least one from each litter. He is down for all of our crazy ideas, and greets everyone with a smile. We honestly can’t thank him enough for all he does for us here at Cactus Doods!! Go Brandon!!!!
