I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! Unfortunately I have some bad news to share. As most of you know I had 3 surgeries in 2018, 2 of which were to relieve severe pain I was having in my right hip. Not only were they unsuccessful, they actually made the situation worse. Then I developed a number of other health issues and was hospitalized for a week in 2021, adding a rare type of vasculitis to the list of issues I was having. We had to make the difficult decision to close after that, but with full intentions of reopening at some point in the future once we were able to find a way for me to continue doing the job I love without pain and vertigo and the other things I was experiencing. It’s been a very long 2 years, going to see countless medical professionals of all kinds. They’ve tried to get me into more specialists and clinics than I can count, including Mayo’s, University of Chicago, places in St Louis, Iowa, Springfield- everywhere. But all of them have looked over my charts, the bloodwork and imaging and refused to see me, saying they didn’t believe they could do anything for me. I’m heartbroken to have lost so many clients, both human and canine, that have passed away during this time. I’ve been continuing to participate in grooming classes and lectures, with the intention to put that knowledge to use once I returned. But I’ve now come to the realization that that may never happen. I’m going to try to leave this page up so everyone can see all the old photos, I know I look through them and see friends I miss dearly. Should anything change you all will be the first to know, but as I am still getting appointment requests I thought I should update everyone on the reality of the situation. Please know it was truly my pleasure and an honor that you trusted me with your fur babies, and I will be forever grateful for that.
