We are looking to add an assistant trainer to our team. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and easily gets along in a team atmosphere. Riding experience is a must and would like to have someone who is comfortable starting two year olds.

We all feed, clean stalls and do chores around the barn so if you think you are above that please don’t apply.

Pay is dependent upon experience. Housing for a single person or couple may be available for the right candidate.

In 2017 we purchased this little bay gelding “A Smart Napoleon” for some comstomers and their little girl. “Little Man” taught her the ropes of reining and lots more. In 2019 we decided it was time for him to move on a teach another little girl and her family about horses and reining. Juliana and her family have become lifelong friends of ours. Juliana and Little Man competed at several prestigious events including the NRBC and the Houston Rodeo. When the time came for Juliana to move up in classes she had to make the tough decision to sell Little Man. Juliana found her “mini me” in her local barn who she thought would be a perfect fit for Little Man and Brynn started her chapter with Little Man! Brynn has grown up over the last several years with him just minutes from her house. As time commitments with other sports became more demanding Brynn also had to make a tough decision to find her horse a new home. When we heard that Little Man was for sale we just happened to have the perfect family looking. Congratulations to Lana, Owen, Sarah and Sid Pennebaker on their purchase of this remarkable little horse. We can’t not wait to see what Little Man will accomplish with you guys in his next chapter and we feel so fortunate to just be a small part of his journey.

We don’t all have the privilege of keeping all of our horses forever but love them and train them well and they will end up in the right hands.

Cody Patterson wasn’t the only one competing last week. Several kids from the Patterson Team were cleaning house at the Texas 4H State Finals! Madison McCulloch, Serafina Campbell, and Charlee Baker had great runs in multiple divisions helping Parker County bring home the win! Keep up the good work, we can’t wait to see what this next year brings!

We’ve made it home from the National Reined Cow Horse Association Hackamore Classic and while missing the finals by one spot sure stings, we are so proud of this team who put together some great runs in all three events. Thank you to owners Heart Bar Horse & Cattle Co.for your unwavering support in our program and this little mare.

The dust has settled on the Panhandle Reined Cow Horse Association Red Dirt Rendezvous. We had a good show picking up checks on several horses and had productive schoolings on others! Some highlights from the weekend included Michael Heath’s mare PW Smooth earned checks in the Limited Open Bridle and the Non Pro Two Rein. Caitlynn Smart’s This One Weedy Cat earned checks both days in the Limited Open Hackamore, and Caitlynn marked some personal best scores in her boxing class! Serafina Campbell and her mare Smart Rey Star won both slates of youth boxing.

We’d like to thank Nelly Murphy and all the show staff for putting on a well run show and Texas Tech Equestrian Center for hosting! As always thank you to our customers for trusting us to guide you and your horses through the showpen! We’ll see y’all at the next one.

We had a great time showing at South Texas Reined Cow Horse Association Heritage Days Classic! Emily Patterson and This One Weedy Cat owned by Caitlynn Smart were Limited Open Hackamore class winners on day one and finished second on day two. Cody Patterson and Shawty Cat owned by Emma Martinez picked up a check in the Intermediate Open Hackamore. Cody and I Got Metallic Genes owned by Heart Bar Horse & Cattle Co. put together some great runs as well! Thanks to Tina McCleary and all of the show staff for putting together such a great show, our customers who send us down the road doing what we love, and our great crew at home, Nick Haley, Hailey Rasmussen, and Sammi Nack, that keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes.

Introducing "Biscuit". This 2022 gelding is sired by Feel The Sting - Pink Buckle Stallion and out of HR Wilys Annie. This c**t is stout, quick footed and athletic. We are so excited to see “Spinner’s” babies hit the ground this spring. He was one of the first Heart Bar Horse & Cattle Co. c**ts we started and brought through our program and we couldn’t be more excited to see what the he next generation holds.

Introducing Bar T Super Twister!

"Spinner's" first c**ts are starting to hit the ground this spring and we are really liking the look of them. Heart Bar Horse and Cattle Co. purchased Spinner as a weanling for his strong, correct conformation and historic bloodlines. A grandson of the great Shining Spark and out of Lil Super Sugar who goes back to the historic Sugar Bars on the top and bottom side. Spinner displayed speed, athleticism and cow sense in the showpen in his younger years and is making a top ranch horse now that he is back home at Heart Bar. Bar T Super Twister is an NRCHA money earner and enrolled in The Southland Incentive. We will have a limited number of his foals available for purchase this year.

Stall cleaning position available!

NOT A RIDING POSITION. We are in search of someone to feed and clean 30 stalls twice daily. The ranch is between Mineral Wells and Perrin. Candidate must be comfortable around young horses and stallions and be able to lift at least 50lbs. Work is Monday through Saturday, and occasional Sundays. Must be able to pass a background check and provide references. Message me directly for more information.

We are home from a great show. We got some great schoolings and runs in the pen in preparation to head to the NRCHA Celebration of Champions. We would like to thank the show staff at South Texas Reined Cow Horse Association and Texas Reined Cowhorse association for putting on a well run show with ample practice opportunities.
