I love these little guys π₯Ήπ
Snickerdoodle relaxing with her final beans.
Retirement for the sweet girl after these little guys, and she do it with a slam dunk of FIVE little werewolves.
4 boys and 1 girl.
+ 2 standard coated girls.
βΆοΈ Note to answer some recent frequent questions :
- We do not have any available animals at the moment.
- We are located in Perry, Georgia.
We left California 1+ year ago.
- We are not really paying attention to other breeders due to lack of time. Therefore, we can not recommend any breeders in XYZ state (as we are not aware who is still active or not!).
- We do not ship. If you want an animal to travel, you must contact us with everything already planned through ground transport (example: "hey, X is gonna drive through your town, can they pick up for me?").
I do not have a car, or license : I will not (cannot) meet in anywhere else than Perry GA.
POV : you wake up the β¨οΈpileβ¨οΈ
(Optional ; you scold them for chewing the corners of their brand new hammocks π. Thats why theyre piled up on the shelf π€¦ββοΈ)
At 0.37, featuring our very special addition.
Lab tested pathogen free (we lucked out!) rattus rattus ( Roof Rats ).
They were found orphaned by one of our followers on a week end, so we stepped up with one of our nursing does who went in a quarantine place.
We decided to go ahead and test them before introducing them either in the wild or to our mischief. Clean bill ; mischief it was!
They were also way too human-friendly to safely go outside.
They're such sweeties. These two are the shy ones, the third one is almost always the first to come forward and play (even before the regular rats!).
They have a very unique look to them, a bit like a rat mixed with a show typed mouse.
They are waaaay more active (and arboreal).
They cannot interbreed with common rats (rattus norvegicus). [ it is technically possible, but records show early neonate passing.]
We are lucky in the sense that we have two males and one female, which open the door to potentially further explore this species.
Im just happy to have them around π₯Ήπ
Gave the dormice some strawberries.
This juvenile and his dad are not the brightest XD.
They could just slide out to the other side and grab them, but no.
(They are not stuck)
Sometimes, we are our own obstacles π
Such calm cuddly girls π₯Ήπ
Names have been chosen!
Rosie, Lilly and Tulip π
They're at the cutest age now π₯Ήπ
Star is inspecting the new house π₯Ήπ
Looking forward to them to make a nest in it!
This is Nubs.
Nubs is genetically a LongTail mouse.
Nubs is physically a Manx mouse.
Why such paradox?
It's mama decided to trim that tail as a pinky π€¦ββοΈ
That's just as bad as having a wonderful texel coat, only for it to turn out to be recessive hairless at weaning stage π
But since Nubs is still genetically LongTail, Nubs will stay, as to establish this project.
On a normal day, I would remove from breeding any doe who trim/overgroom their pups, BUT their mothers are litterally my only LongTails, so they get a pass until I know that I won't loss the gene.
And just like that, my merle line was resurrected π.
My last doe had given me only carriers, which finally gave me this little buckling.
Lost a lot in terms of type, but I'll take it considering that sweet and calm temperament π
Blue "Pied" Roan, carrying Satin and possibly the LongTail modifiers.

More about the K-complex of the Spotted loci ; https://hiiret.fi/eng/breeding/?pg=4&sub=11&ala=18
It has been recorded in my lines and test bred for a few years, so I'm just happy I didn't lose it fully π

DoB's ;
13th April 2024 (tabby)
21st April 2024 (white)
Stray cat mothers, one with mastitis and the other low on milk, so we took in two to lower the toll on them and the others.
The others are also being taken care of, just not by us.
Littermates and blacks, orange tabby, beige tabby, regular tabby, and blue.
Mothers are tortieshell.
The little white one is the smallest (runt), so hopefully, he makes it with some TLC.
Not sure yet if he's pointed (they're born white), white, white deaf, or albino.
And, here is the answer to the mystery critters!
African Pygmy Dormice (microsquirrel).
Here they are enjoying their daily nightine snack!
Blackberries, raspberries, plain greek yogurt, maple syrup & local raw honey.
I love watching them so much when they're active π₯Ήπ
They love getting petted, too.
Not so much on the handling, however, but they will tolerate it.
She's getting stronger every day!
It's hard to believe that 2 days ago, she was limp, cold, and barely able to move.
She will soon get an upgrade!
But she is a bit too clumsy still, and I do not want her to fall from too high.
Her little body is still so fragile.
This cage is honestly only used while im eating or sleeping. Otherwise, she's in a pocket against my chest.
She also comes to work with me (since I need to feed her).
Look!
New creatures π₯Ήπ
African Pigmy Dormice!
They are definitely fast and agile little buggers, not for innexperienced folks.
Mouse hoppers got nothing against these guys in the speed department π
You blink and they already crawled their way up and down your body at least twice.
They also have a very sharp, distinct smell, and a more complex diet.
These guys ar arboreal (likes heights).
I might swap them to a screen enclosure (generally marketed for chameleons), but for now, they are in the enclosure they were in at their previous home.
The one on the lid with the white on his back is the main male of the colony.
Say hello to our three new girls π
Thank you again Mike for bringing me these!
Tails for weeks π
Blue/Leaden Agouti Longtail & Blue/Leaden Longtail
Little video of "Chinchilla" variety pair leaving this evening π
Type isnt really great as I juuust started the project but I love their pigment regardless!
Agouti + Tan + Homozygous Chinchilla
Today i had time to photograph some of the critters at work.
Look at these 2 babies, they were so well behaved π₯Ίπ
They are parrotlets, and are pretty much freshly weaned from handfeeding π₯Ίπ
Our rescue boy has been putting on some weight and very enthusiastic about his raw diet π
He is still on the thin side, but heading in the right direction!
Here he is having fun in the bean box XD
Me too girl, me too π
Never seen an animal so angry at popsickle sticks.
We decided to call her Orbie, since she fluff in a featherball when relaxed π
Note : she has plenty of space in there to not be bothered by the toy's presence/it being in her way.
The cage is the size of a double critter nation, if not bigger π
