Unfortunately, I need to inform you of a terrible accident. While in Florida for work, Lizard Liam was in the field studying invasive giant frogs from Chernobyl. Tragically, during a snout- to- vent measurement, Liam was eaten by one of these voracious man-eating frogs. We would like to say Liam was a good boy, liked by many, and went out in the name of science.

On an unrelated side note, we now have an opening at the zoo.

An absolutely stunning new yellow rat snake we recently picked up down south. Thank you Riley for such a beautiful addition to our breeding stock. We shall name him Myakka.

Man! What a week it's been. Two back to back snow storms, all four of us being ill, Curt getting second degree burns, a pet passing away, a nightmare flight, friends fighting either depression or severe medical issues, my grandmother having congestive heart failure (she's in her 90s)...I feel I'm missing like two or three more things! As you can see, life happens and I am unable to always keep up with social media. I know YOU understand, but I will be punished by the FB Overlords for not posting regularly. This means they will continue to hide my posts from you.

Which of course is a huge bummer since I want all of you to know we will be vending this weekend in East Aurora to do a fundraiser for the zoo! Many wonderful vendors will be there so you can do some Christmas shopping for loved ones! PLUS we will donate a percentage of our sales to help support the East Aurora PTO! Come see the unique items we have and maybe meet a special animal or two. 🥰

Meet Jonathan, the Aldabra Tortoise. He resides on the island of Saint Helena, and was hatched out in the year of 1832! At 192 years old, this makes Jonathan the oldest living land dwelling animal that we know of.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...outside the zoo! We've gotten our first major snowfall of the year, marking the unofficial transition to the colder season of the year. Don't worry, though - it's always warm at REPCO's Prehistoric World! We've got a lot of big changes coming to Prehistoric World in the coming year, so we're taking a few weeks off in early December so we can focus on rolling out some of these exciting projects we've been working on. We'll be open for the winter break, though, so if the kids are out of school and you want to be warm for a little while, visit us here at Prehistoric World after Christmas and early January!
