Simon is a very timid and fearful dog. He’s a young boy that started showing signs of reactivity on his walks.
He’s been working hard on learning to trust and build confidence in new environments.
We had a family member come walk him yesterday and run him through his commands. Although, not a stranger to us, he was a stranger to Simon and because Simon has been working so hard with his training he was able to trust and follow the instructions and guidance he provided on his walk and putting him in place. This was a huge stride for Simon and we are pleased with his progress!
Dolly learned her “place” command today and we were able to add some duration for her to continue practicing and getting a clear understanding of what place is.
Lily is working on her recall skills with Katelyn while Kupcake and Cookie holding their commands.
Bella came to us very anxious and unable to slow down and process what is asked of her. This week she is working on fine-tuning her commands with her e collar. She is learning how to self soothe and settle much easier.
Nala
Nala is so eager to please, this is a video from last week of her fine tuning her sit command and learning her down command. You can see a few times she wants to default into a down command and I work her through that by having her keep trying until she listens and completes the command I’m telling her to do. She loves learning and she’s so willing.
Blaze is back with us for his off leash training! He completed a puppy program with us several months ago and is now taking his training to the next level!
He is a very active dog with lots of energy. He has so much try that he gets ahead of himself and makes the wrong decision when Alex is calling him. You’ll see as the video progresses that he settles down and makes the right choices!
Jasmine is hanging out on her place cot in a down while Blaze is being worked. This is a huge step for her as she often would break her command and fixate on other dogs especially with higher energy.
Great job guys!
Karma is working on her special awareness while there was city workers putting in new lines. Karma came to us being very pushy and all in your space as she has had time with us we have been teaching her to be more respectful and mind her space. Here we are using her ecollar for communication however we have her prong and leash on for extra guidance as needed while she is learning.
Roscoe is working hard on his commands with his ecollar during his session with Alex. You will notice that he has a difficult time to begin with wanting to hold his sit command as Alex walks around him however with guidance he is able to work through the difficultly and succeed! We are moving nice and slow with him so he is able to think through what is being asked and allowing him to digest the session with what was learned.
Roscoe is working on his ecollar skills with Alex. Roscoe is with us for a behavioral modification program as he is very insecure and anxious causing him to be reactive in those moments. We are moving nice and slow to help work on his state of mind and show him how to trust his handler. Stay tuned for more updates!
Evie, Millie and Dollie practiced their commands with duration by the baseball game tonight. They got some great exposure with tons of people walking by, music, traffic and the announcer. That’s just some of the things that makes up socialization.
🐶Millie is the youngest in the group. Her puppy brain caused her to break commands a few times, we addressed it and put her back into command. She got the hang of it and as time went on she had a clear understanding and did better and better.
🐶Evie loves cutting up with Millie, so having her also just hang out was big for her and really important. She took everything in really nicely. You’ll see her sniffing some grass and chewing on it. Those are some efforts of her trying to take everything in and working towards relaxing. As time went on she relaxed and just hung out.
🐶Dollie needed some exposure, but did a great job hanging out. She joined us about halfway through and she practiced all of her skills she’s learned throughout her program as it comes to an end. She loves any reason to just lounge around ☺️
Ranger and Blaze took on Tractor Supply today. Blaze had an adventure, he’s here with us for boarding. So he’s getting additional exposure and practice out and about.
Ranger went out to practice his skills and ability to walk next to a cart and to get additional exposure. He’s going to be a big brother soon. So he needs extra skills being patient and walking beside things. He needed a little confidence boost when we first arrived. Once we worked him through the nervousness, he was so great! He loves doing his commands and he loves his praise. So proud of these boys.
We brought personal dogs Missy and Ruger along with us.
Ruger & Ranger!
Both of these boys are super energetic and love to be in the middle of everything with their families.
Both are working on confidence building but in different aspects.
Ruger does not like the texture of the floor in our training room and requires lots of praise and reassurance while working on his here command.
Ranger does great inside just becomes easily distracted whereas the roles are reversed on their walks. Ranger is insecure on his walks with the cars, bikes, and loud noises and Ruger has very little issues with those things.
We are proud of both of these boys! Stay tuned for more updates!
Ranger has been learning his foundation skills while building confidence. These are stepping stones in building a successful life for him. As we continue to work him over these next few weeks we will continue to add in distractions and practice these new skills in different enviornments.
Rosie has been practicing her skills on her own. Now we are implementing distractions like our cats and one of our own dogs. You can see she breaks her command twice, but she’s addressed and placed back in her command. There were some tough moments for her with the cats, but she’s doing great and responding well!
Otis accompanied Whiskey for his adventure to Bass Pro Shops. Whiskey is with us for boarding and Otis is one of our Adventure Pup training dogs. Otis got to practice learning how to adjust in public to different environments and distractions. Whiskey is a pro and goes on adventures every time he boards. Personal dogs Ruger and Missy joined us as our experienced role models.
Otis is heading home today! He is fine tuning his ecollar skills with Alex before his go home session with his family. Otis is a dog that is easily over excited and wants to be apart of everything going on in and out of his home. Through training he has learned how to relax and settle his mind and body. This will help him make the correct choices as his family continues to maintain what he has learned with us. Great job Otis!
Mr. Charlie! Charlie is also heading home later this week and is working on reviewing what he has learned during his time with us! He loves working and his little nub goes a mile a minute the whole time! We are proud of his progress and excited to see him and his family continue to grow and improve at home!
Stax is working hard on his recall skills utilizing his here command with added distance and distractions. Charlie & Otis are relaxing in their place command after their training session. Roxie is also hanging out in a down next to Alex while recording Stax. Great job guys!
Roxie is heading home later this week and is working hard on fine tuning her commands. She has come a long ways in building her confidence during her time with us. We are excited to see the progress she will continue to make with her family once she heads home. Good girl Roxie!
Otis! Otis is a spunky dude who likes to do things his way and when he wants to do it. He has been working really hard on learning his basic obedience commands and adding duration with those commands. We are proud of the progress he has made thus far! Stay tuned for more updates!
