Today Jake had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor on his third eyelid. I’m happy to say the procedure went well and the vet was able to remove all of the tumor and he has a great prognosis. Clydesdales and white faced horses are more susceptible to this type of cancer especially those that live outside. In the future he and Bonnie will get UV masks to reduce further risks. Thanks to our amazing vet Dr. Katie who caught this in the early stages and did a great job on the surgery. Jake was happy to be back home and was great through the entire process. He’ll be getting extra treats these next few days and let’s all hope he’s good for getting eye ointment because it’s a far reach if he decides to put his head up!
