We here at Horizon Acres have been busy!! We have been listening to our customers about how their animals are performing and we only want the best for your animals. So we have tweaked some formulas to make them better. Better digestibility. Better taste. Better performance. Just better, but not at an increasing cost. Nearly all of us here at Horizon Acres are "farmers". Whether it be just a few chickens in the coop that we consider our pride and joy, or a few horses in our pastures or stalls that we compete or trail ride on, or a herd of goats, sheep, or cattle in our pastures that we enjoy watching while drinking our morning coffee. We know the cost of keeping animals, and we strive to bring the best as the lowest cost possible. In addition, we added some new products, reformulated some of our oldie but goodies and we hope these will help bring your herd and or flock to a happier healthier and overall better performance. It has both pellets and cracked corn blended together. We are currently running this at a special price of $250/ton bulk delivered within 25 miles of our facility. Want to pick it up? No problem! Congratulations to the Buchheit Agri Division for receiving the 2016 Excellence in Labeling Compliance Award. The Missouri Department of Agriculture has presented this award annually since 1998. The Feed Compliance Award is granted to those who maintained an average of equal or greater than 90 percent passing rate on five or more samples of feed randomly obtained within Missouri. Thank you to all the team members who helped make this possible!

Sweet Corn Boost is a great supplemental fertilizer for your sweet corn crop. It provides a time release nitrogen that feeds the plants for 7-11 weeks after application. Since sweet corn require high levels of nitrogen but shouldn't have it all applied at planting, this is a great alternative to conventional nitrogen products that are too much at once or evaporate before the plant can use it. It has worked great in our sweet corn crop! See what it can do for your sweet corn crop this year!

Temperatures are getting dangerously high for our feathered friends. Be sure to watch your flock for signs of heat stress! Symptoms can include panting, increase breathing, wing spread, and loss of electrolyes. Keep those girls cool by properly ventilating the coops (setting up circulating fans during these hot summer months is a good idea if you have electric available at your coop!), adding electrolyes to their water is a good prevention, and making sure they have plenty of water available.
