Your Dog's SUPERPOWER!
Nose work is an awesome way to help a reactive dog chill out and feel more confident. Hereâs why itâs so effective:
Takes their mind off triggers: When your dog is focused on sniffing out a scent, theyâre way less likely to get reactive. It gives them something positive to concentrate on instead of whatever is stressing them out.
Boosts confidence: Every time they successfully find a scent, itâs like a little win for them. Over time, they start feeling more sure of themselves, which is great if theyâre nervous or anxious.
Mental workout: Sniffing around for scents is tiring in a good way! It works their brain, which helps burn off some energy and reduces stress.
Encourages independence: While theyâre hunting for a scent, theyâre making decisions on their own, which can really help a shy dog feel more in control.
Safe and low pressure: Nose work can be done in a calm environment, so your dog doesnât have to deal with other distractions. This makes it easier for them to focus and relax.
Strengthens your bond: Doing nose work together builds trust and improves how you communicate with each other.
Overall, itâs a fun, low-stress way to help your dog work through reactivity while gaining confidence. Plus, they get to use their natural sniffing skills, which makes them super happy!

Jumping is a habit!
If we control the environment we can control the dog. Limit the reinforcement by thinking smarter and using the environment. Being mindful about how you handle the leash and use of x-pens and backties to help with these interactions.

Success in meeting your training goals is about having REALISTIC expectations. This requires to you to account for the dogâs age, genetic limitations, and environment.
With all dogs but ESPECIALLY PUPPIES itâs more realistic to limit the opportunities for unwanted behavior by creating an environment thatâs conducive to your dogâs success. Spaces shape behavior!
Comment below with your training goals with your dog? Be realistic.

Happy Veterans Day! đşđ¸
Paws in the Park
Come say hi đ
Crateâs are extremely effective for potty training and keeping our puppies safe from self-destructive behaviors. So as soon as your puppy is potty trained and/or grows up it seems the crate gets left behind.
Crateâs do way more for our dog than just help them learn when/where to go the bathroom and limit opportunites from destroying your house.
The crate provides clear boundaries, a task that rewards the dog for being calm and MOST IMPORTANTLY a place of their own that keeps them safe.
When we take away the crate our dogs can become overstimulated desperately looking for something to always do and unsure of expectations.
This restfulness and uncertainty can result in fear, reactivity, anxiety and excessive tendencies as they no longer have a space where theyâre rewarded for being calm, feel safe and/or feel like they do anything âright.â
Let us help you reintroduce a safe space back into their life.
