Charlie is here to ask kindly for 8x10 and 8x12 tarps, please. The tarps allow the dogs to stay outside when it is cold and windy by giving them some shelter so they are incredibly helpful and important to us. Help us get our dogs back outside to play!

And if you are interested in the perfect hiking/running partner, please come and meet Charlie! He is sure to make you smile!

Right now Elmore SPCA is at capacity. We are not able to take in any additional animals at this time. We know winter is coming, and there are cats that need help, but we currently have a waiting list for cats and dogs. If you would like to be added to the list, please email us the information about your animals at [email protected]. We cannot give a timeline on how long it will take, as we can only take them in as fast as the animals in our shelter are adopted.

We are only able to take in animals when we have space to humanely house them. We understand that this is frustrating, but a crammed shelter is a sick shelter, and we need to protect the animals we have in our shelter at this time.

All of us at Elmore SPCA want to extend a huge thanks to the very kind gentleman who brought in his annual savings of $2046 to put towards for our building renovation project.

In addition, we want to thank Gerald who made $1000 donation for shelter veterinary expenses at Palmer vet clinic.

We are overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of people in our community. Thank you so much!

I have an amazing report from our Bottleman Jack. In four days you have all kept him very busy. His monthly total went from $1784.95 to an incredible $4001.50. This brings Jack to within $3000 of his 5-year $100K goal. Today is three day's into November and he is excited that the returnables keep coming. Thank you.

Penny Hood’s goal to raise $5000 through her raffle for the Elmore SPCA shelter animals. Please stop by Rescued Treasures or the shelter for tickets or purchase them directly on the Elmore SPCA website.

Penny will be at Perkins Wednesday, November 6th from 10 to 4 with some of her amazing prizes. Stop by and get your raffle tickets.

Tickets are $5 for 8 tickets. The first and second prize are below. More photos will be listed this week. There are approximately 30 drawings. The drawings will take place on December 7th

We apologize that we are unable to record the hilarious things Brutus said while coming out of anesthesia (he is clearly feeling it). But we wanted to let all of his supporters know that his surgery went very well, and he is on the road to recovery!

We have many people to thank from our successful Legislative Forum on Tuesday...

Karry Taylor from ZUKE'S DELI their meal donation was nothing short of amazing. We know that Zuke's is a mainstay in downtown Plattsburgh. We could eat there everyday!

Eric Day from the SOUTH PLATTSBURGH FIRE DEPT for use of their beautiful training room.

To our attendees and others that reached out for information and have participated in the discussion:

Veterinary: Dr Palmer, Dr Sherman, & Dr Kiley. Also, to Dr Bentley for her guidance.

Sheltering: Tri-Lakes Humane Society, and Jody Perrea from White Knight Kennels. Also, to North Country SPCA. These connections and discussions are so very important to help rural areas be successful.

Legislative Offices of Daniel Stec and Billy Jones. For allowing us to present the challenges faced by rural shelters.

Clinton County Municipalities: Ten of the thirteen municipalities either had a representative present or have reached. Extra thanks to Melissa from Plattsburgh Police Dept, T’Chaka and Diane from Peru, and Jody representing the Towns of Plattsburgh, Rouses Pt/Champlain, Chazy and Beekmantown.

Our community members and business representatives. Special shout out to Sue from Tails in the Adirondacks and Tina from Balanced Life K9 Training, both give so much to help to Elmore. Also to Joe, our architect, who is hard at work developing Elmore building plans.

Lastly, the management, staff, and board of Elmore. They live, breathe and dream Elmore 365 days a year.

Shame on the person in the black Mercury that came and stole all the bottles out of the shelter bottle box this morning. It is a bold and shameful act to take away from the needs of the dogs and cats in our shelter's care.

Bottleman Jack's update to reach goal for October. He needs $400 in bottles in the next four days.

Just a photo of Brutus being the most dapper in his plaid jacket. He is feeling much better. He sends his gratitude to everyone in the community who has shown him so much love this past week. (Even the staff at Palmer’s who poked him so many times.)

But seriously, thank you to the team at Palmer Veterinary Clinic for getting our boy through a tough couple of days. We are grateful for you!

We will update you all again after he has his surgery next week. 🐾🩷

An update on Brutus. He spent two days at Palmers this week with critical medical issues. We are happy to report that he back at the shelter and doing well. He is still scheduled for surgery at the end of the month with a good prognosis.

Brutus’s puzzle fundraiser is complete. Thank you to all of you that donated. We will post an update after his surgery that is scheduled for next week.

And just like that, the last 2 dogs have left the Clinton County Jail! We have moved all remaining dogs to the shelter. We want to send our deepest gratitude to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office for working so hard on this case and for being such gracious hosts. Working with them has been an incredible experience and we are proud of the relationships we have built. Thank you as well to our incredible community! Onto the next chapter for these sweet dogs! 🐾❤️
