We are calling this adorable guy “Butch”.

Brought in on 01/18:2025 and found on Rockwell Rd in the Town of Peru.

“Butch” ~ White & Brown - Pitbull Mix - Adult - Intact - No Microchip Located~

Per NYS Ags & Mkts law, Article 7; the state allows a minimum of five days to redeem your dog however Elmore SPCA allows seven-day period in which you can redeem your dog.

The redemption process is as follows:

1-Provide a rabies certificate showing your dog is current on rabies.

2-Provide a copy of the dog's current dog license (document not tags) *if your dog is currently licensed the rabies information will be on the dog license.

3-Pay subsequent redemption fee's.

** Please be advised, redemption fees are set by the town in which the dog is seized; those fees are collected by Elmore SPCA and then forwarded to the municipality. **

Congratulations, it's been another amazing year for the Cat Art Show and Sale, that was held on December 8th at Chapter One Coffee and Tea. The 8th annual event raised $2359. Thank you Kim and Eve for all your work and dedication to this event and to the shelter animals of Elmore SPCA.

While at the shelter they took advantage of some Kitty snuggle time.

When the world is cruel, let your smile become someone’s sunshine. ☀️🐾

The team at Elmore would like to formally introduce you to Oscar. Even though someone threw him away in a dumpster emaciated and terrified, he is no grouch. He has never let his circumstances dull his smile. He is a young, very high energy little guy who would love an active family who can give him the exercise and playtime that he needs. We are unsure of how he will be with cats, but he seems to be ok with other dogs. He is a happy go lucky boy who just doesn’t know how to channel his energy. However, given some time to decompress from shelter life, he we believe could be good with kids who are a little older.

If you are interested in meeting Oscar, please stop by the shelter! He deserves to be someone’s treasure!

Employees from Casella presented $10,000 check at Champlain Centre Mall today to kick off the Elmore SPCA Capital Campaign. The presentation was followed by a busy adoption event that ended with two dog adoptions and one cat adoption.

We are going to have a popup at the mall tomorrow (Thursday, January 9) from 11am to 1pm, with a couple adoptable dogs.

Saturday, January 11, Capital Campaign Kick off with check presentation by Casella at 10am. Adoptable dogs and cats from 10am to 2pm.

Penny Hood will have a one day raffle at the Mall today along with Elmore’s adoption day from 10-2. Although the shipment of the beautiful crocheted French bull dogs has been held up in Albany, the raffle will take place today.

The ticket for the drawing will be free with donations for the animal shelter gladly accepted. The drawing will include a small dog bed, two French bulldogs (winner’s choice) delicious chocolate candy, and so much more! The drawing will take place this afternoon.

We'll be at Champlain Centre tomorrow (Saturday, Dec 21) from 10am to 2pm. Any dog & cat viewing for the public will happen at the mall location. The shelter will not have open public hours.
Any donations will be welcomed at the mall. If it is more convenient to drop them at the shelter, please leave them in the large drop container located at the front entrance of the shelter. We thank you all for your support.

Stop by the Elmore SPCA mall adoption center this Saturday December 21 from 10 to 2 for an adoption day.

Penny Hood will be holding a one day raffle. Just fill out a raffle ticket for an amazing prize. The drawing will be in the afternoon. It is a free will raffle with all proceeds donated to the Elmore SPCA.

The raffle will have a dog bed with two beautiful hand, crocheted French bulldogs assortment of delicious chocolate candy, a dog training book and greenies for that special dog pet

Below is a sampling of the lovely crocheted bulldogs . Two will be relaxing in the dog bed surrounded by delicious chocolates.

Many many thanks to the wonderful folks at Walmart who donated $173 to the Elmore SPCA! A special thank you to Store Manager Tiffany and Ann in Claims.
Puppies Onyx and Pax were a big hit with the Walmart staff

Lots going on at the shelter today, but we were able to arrange an 11am to 1pm mall pop-up opening with Jade (female) and Onyx (male), both approximately 24-week-old. Stop by and visit us.
