Leonardo, came to Roxy’s Ranch Haven when his loving family faced a tough decision. Living in the city, they couldn’t keep a crowing rooster, so they brought him to us instead of facing a heartbreaking alternative.

Now thriving on the ranch, Leo is a true showstopper with glossy black-and-white feathers and a tail that glows iridescent blue. Charismatic and confident, he struts proudly among his feathered friends, delighting visitors with his charm. Leo’s story is a reminder of compassion and second chances.

Meet Zarjya/Zara, a 3-year-old shining star. 🐾

Zara recently celebrated her 3rd birthday, bringing joy and light to everyone around her. She came into our lives through Underdog Rescue, adopted as a companion for Stassi after we heartbreakingly lost our last dog to cancer.

During what was supposed to be a routine spay procedure, her veterinarian discovered she was a hermaphrodite. Zara underwent both spaying and neutering, showcasing her resilience in the face of challenges. At just two years old, Zara underwent surgery to repair both ACLs and her meniscus in one procedure.

Now weighing a majestic 99 pounds. She continues to shine as the radiant star she was always meant to be, filling our hearts with admiration every single day. 💖🐾

From a childhood dream sparked at a farm camp to a life filled with animals and purpose, my journey to creating a ranch has been one of resilience and love.

With the guidance of a dear friend and mentor, I learned the art of caring for horses, which led me to welcome my first horse, into my life. He transformed me, offering comfort and connection in ways I never thought possible.

Today, this sanctuary is home to horses, dogs, a cat, playful pigs, and chickens—all living together in peace. This ranch is a space where others can come to experience the transformative power of animals. They teach us patience, connection, and the beauty of living in the moment.

I’ve opened my heart and my home because I believe everyone deserves to feel the magic of these bonds. This is more than a ranch—it’s a place of healing and joy, and I’m grateful every day to share it with others.

This Thanksgiving, we're rescuing our first slaughter-bound horse—a beautiful 13-year-old mare we’ve named Gracie, inspired by the story The Great Gracie Chase and the holiday spirit. She arrives Monday!

We’re aiming to raise $6,000 to cover her rescue, transport, setup, and care, along with supporting the other animals on the ranch. Let’s give Gracie the loving home she deserves.

In 2021, Nugget came into my life from a previous owner who was scared of him due to his defensive behaviors. Despite this, I saw his potential. At first, he was boarded, but I knew he needed a permanent home to thrive. In April 2022, I purchased a farm property, and by May, Nugget finally came home.

I fostered Trigger to be his buddy. The bond was instant! With love, care, and a stable home, Nugget has transformed into the most affectionate, social horse you could imagine. 💕
