At Sunshine this week! Super kind three ring packer for 2’9 and under - will take all the jokes and loves a kick and pull ride. Not limited in scope (has jumped 1.45m GPs) and with the right partner easy to go up to the 3’6. But does an absolutely phenomenal job at teaching for the lower levels as well. Has been a career jumper with a great 1.20 record last year, and converted to the 3’ eq & hunters this year and has loved it. Her soft spot is for a nervous ammy who loves to pull and chip around the 2’6 - 2’9, but she is versatile.

1. Top quality small junior hunter & derby prospect. Jumps a 10 & takes a top hack prize. Extremely simple to ride, no prep, no peek at any fill, and very special. 15.3h, flashy 7 year old gelding (coming eight). Champion 3’ greens at Sacramento International, has done several national derbies, & ready to do the 3’3 - 3’6 now. Record to 1.35m in Europe, all the scope and step. This is one to win junior hunter finals on and do derby finals to boot.

The only thing she does not like is an electric rider who wants to run at the jumps. Is otherwise very forgiving, no spook or funny business. 10 year old 17h imported mare.

This week at SAC International able to be tried:

1) Exceptional big eq / derby horse. 10 year old big bodied 16.3h gelding (but does not ride like a big horse). 4th in 3’6 NorCal Medal Finals w/ a catch rider under the lights in the GP ring. Huge top hunter record to 3’6. Cleaned up in 3’ & 3’3 eq in Kentucky this summer w/catch riders. Has also packed an amateur around the 2’9 low adults. Beautiful, simple, honest, brave, all the buttons & judges adore him. Easiest horse you’ll have in the barn, is stall to ring. Would be a phenomenal top Maclay finals horse and easily will march around indoors this year if needed.

2) Three ring 10 year old 17h mare, currently competing in the 3’ hunters and eq. Has jumped 1.45m GPs but prefers the lower pressure gig. Would absolutely be able to move to the 3’6 eq with a steady partner or up to the 1.20m jumpers. Very brave and kind, super simple lady. Only thing this mare does not like is when a rider runs at the jump as this makes her nervous. Let her know you’re there and she’ll do anything for you. Jumped a great year at 1.20m last year with a consistent partnership and has also had excellent rounds with a junior in the eq and hunter rings all summer. At 2’6 / 2’9 she’s a packer, but also very appropriate for a more ambitious confident rider on a budget!

3) Superstar packer jumper 1m - 1.35m, will jump 1.40m with the right partner as well (record to 1.40 in Europe). Lovely to ride, goes in a snaffle, straightforward, simple, and brave. Has recently been competing in North America in the 1.30s with an amateur. Very kind, sweet guy and a joy to ride, makes you feel like a million bucks. Very competitive. 16.3h 11 year old gelding

4) Fancy, flashy, but very very easy small junior hunter prospect. Jumps a 10 and gets a top 3 hack prize. Very petite horse but with a massive step and loads of scope (jumped 1.35m in Europe). Will be a top top top jr hunter. Will also be a true derby finals contender and has scope for internationals despite his small stature. Will jump anything, minimal prep, loop the reins and hunt the jumps. Lead changes do still need to be asked for as he was recently imported, but not difficult to get and he will also land the leads in the ring. Value will increase significantly once these are auto and he has a larger US record. Has shown in several US venues since import. 1st, 1st, and 2nd in the greens at Sac week 1. Jumped a national derby first US show. 7 year old 15.3h bay gelding with four white socks.

**Not in a hurry to move this one as he just gets better and better, but potentially avail for select clients to try if the right match for someone who wants to snag him early on. This horse is very special.**

ISO of a working student for Sept / Oct in Northern CA and then for the Thermal winter circuit beginning last week of October through end of March at DIHP for a small but busy development and sales program with a focus on young hunters and equitation horses. Ideally someone who is looking to hone their skills in young horse development, particularly in developing hunters and eq horses, and who would like to learn the ins and outs of a boutique sales business. Position will be primarily riding based but will also include some general barn activities on occasion (grain, tacking, cleaning, etc) and added bonus if can also assist with social media and marketing. There will be show opportunities for the right candidate!

Preference given to riders who have successfully competed through the 3’6 hunters, derbies, and big eq and who are confident, soft, and empathetic riders with feel as we have a very detail oriented program where each experience a young horse has under saddle is critical. Must be comfortable riding 4 - 6 year olds and new imports. A strong flatwork foundation a must as this is the base of our program!

Will include a minimum of two lessons per week and a lot of time in the saddle as well as career & riding mentorship.

Must be able to provide own housing in Northern CA. Housing is available off and on during thermal but not able to provide full time. OK if not able to attend the full winter circuit but must be available for Sunshine Series, Desert Holiday, mid - late January, and end of March. Potential to bring own horse if needed.

ISO of working student in Petaluma, CA September / October anywhere between 3 - 6 days per week (flexible schedule). Also opportunity to come to Thermal during winter circuit! Housing not provided either location. Must have own transportation. Need some assistance with grain / turnout / turn in / walker at home for the next two months and with flatting horses. Would like a rider who is proficient through the 3’6 hunters and 1.10m & comfortable flatting young / green horses. Preference given to riders with a good equitation / hunter background and who ride with soft hands and who are kind to the horses. There will be daily riding. Several flat and over fences lessons included weekly and also happy to help mentor on the business side of things as well as stable management, top level grooming skills, etc. If able to also attend Thermal there may also be showing opportunities.

1. Absolute machine for the 2’6 - 3’6 eq, can also cross into hunters and derbies. 10 year old big bodied 16.3 gelding. Loads of presence, marches around ANY venue. Won the Taylor Harris, reserve champ children’s hunters, & top 6 every age eq class out of 47 at KY 1 & 2 with a 14 year old catch rider.

2. Packer eq/hunter 9 year old gelding for 2’ - 3’3. Has also done national derbies & can take the 3’6 options. Ultra safe, takes any joke, quiet. Attractive, cute jump, & a doer. Can do all 3 rings.

3. Packer jumper for .65m - 1.20m. Competitive 16h 10 yo mare, not mareish, simple, competitive. Adorable and can also cross to the hunter ring. Super fun and safe. Goes in a snaffle. Jumps anything, forgiving.

4. Packer jumper mare for 1m - 1.30m, very honest and brave. Takes a joke. Has blood but is not overly hot. Confidence builder. 10 yo 16.2h big bodied mare.

HUNTERS / EQ

1) Westminster’s Coquette Carmen - 5 yr old 16.3H modern & typey bay mare. Old soul type with zero spook, super brave to any fence. Already taking top placings in the 3’3 greens and national derbies. Will take a top 5 hack prize in most company. Jumps a 10. Will make into a great large junior, AO, or derby horse. Flatwork still rather green & needs to Americanize but mare is sensible, quiet, and easy enough for a jr or amateur to bring along in a program. Low 6

2) Calando SR - 9 year old 16.1h saintly dapple grey gelding who is incredibly useful for both the hunter and equitation rings. Straightforward, reliable, and experienced and will give confidence to any rider from 2’6 - 3’3. Very attractive with a lot of presence and fits right in at any venue. Nice jump technique that feels flat and soft in the air. Excellent child/adult hunter and medal partner and is a trainers dream to have in the barn. Packer. Very low 6

3) Oscar Van De Helle - Amazing 10 year old 16.3h Hunter/eq partner who has competed to top placings all over the country, including WEF and WEC. Exceptionally safe, reliable, and brave, Oscar is a true confidence giver and also has loads of presence in the show ring. He has been a career hunter with versatility ranging from the 2’9 low adults to the 3’6 performance. Won the Taylor Harris & reserve champ children’s hunters KY week 1 with a 14 year old catch rider. He is adjustable, comfortable, brave, and has excellent flatwork. Super safe and needs virtually no prep. Packer type. Mid / high 6

JUMPERS

4) Casual - modern, sporty, SAFE, easy to ride 10 year old 16.1h black bay mare with loads of chrome. ANYONE can ride! Gorgeous to look at and gets noticed everywhere she goes. Has been winning the 1.10m with an amateur since import earlier in the year, but easily can move up to the 1.20m division, or can teach someone at lower levels. Will also tolerate a total beginner rider and can move a rider up with confidence from the .65m to the 1.20m. She is medium blood, snaffle mouth, brave, sporty, simple, and just lovely to both ride and have around. Perfect ground manners and also hacks out on trials like a champ. Suitable for a kid coming off a pony, a learning child/adult rider, or a competitive low jr/am rider ready to win. High 5

5) Leo 657 - tall, uphill, and attractive 10 year old 17h narrow bodied gelding by Lordanos with miles to the 1.30s. Best suited for the .90m - 1.20 jr/am job. Will also long stirrup hunter and LOVES it! Simple and sweet guy. A bit unconventional in front end technique but gets the job done and the jump feels flat and comfortable. Was 1.10m children’s jumper champion march thermal & reserve champ open 1.10. Good record. Pretty horse and very sweet on the ground.

6) Jadinia - the ultimate winning jumper partner for the competitive child / adult rider. 10 year old 16.2h black bay mare with chrome. Successful miles to 1.35m, she is a powerhouse for the 1m - 1.25m jr/am divisions or even an aspiring pro on a budget wanting to jump 1.30. As brave as they come and will forgive any mistake and have your back. This mare does have a good amount of blood, but for the right rider it is fun and competitive and gives confidence in the ride. Can be spicy in the warmup but medium blood in the show ring and at home. Safe safe safe and loves her job. Hacks out on trail, impeccable ground manners.
Low 5 L / mid to high 5 P

**Also have a very very fancy small junior hunter prospect, will be the jr hunter finals winner and also an amazing derby horse. Top 3 hack prize, jumps a true 10 over every jump. Recently imported and just started showing so not publicly marketed but possibly available to be tried for the right situation. Jumped a national derby first US show and marched right around. Brave to the jumps, beautiful balance. Very flashy looking horse. 16h big stride.

Has been winning the 1.10m with an ammy since import earlier, but easily can move up to the 1.20s, or can teach someone at lower levels. Will tolerate a beginner & can move a rider up with confidence from the .65m to the 1.20m. Medium blood, snaffle mouth, brave, safe, competitive. Perfect ground manners, hacks out on trail, NO prep. High 5s

2) Leo 657 - Uphill, simple, pretty 10 year old 17h narrow bodied gelding by Lordanos with miles to the 1.30s. Perfect for 1m - 1.25 jr/am job. Good flatwork, brave, and loves a leg ride. Perfect for the jr/am rider who may light other horses up as he loves an active leg! Can take a joke and is kind. A bit unconventional in his front end technique visually but plenty of scope, carefulness, and clear rounds and the jump feels flat and comfortable. Kids and amateurs tend to love that his head & neck stay right in front of them for stability. Beautiful horse, tons of presence, and so sweet on the ground.

This mare does have blood, but for the right rider is competitive and gives confidence via a sled right that takes you to the fence.
