CDC 051224 states that bird flu can be transmitted by wild birds and waterfowl like ducks and geese through their droppings and secretions, such as saliva. When poultry or other animals come into contact with contaminated environments or infected birds, they are at risk of contracting the virus. There's ongoing research into whether wild birds on farms could transmit the virus to cows through contaminated water or feed, according to Davis.

Many of us expose our horses to pastures frequented by birds, which means these areas may also contain bird droppings and saliva. As a precaution, I've begun applying liquid lime weekly to the pastures and covering all my hay, even though it's stored under a roof. If anyone has additional suggestions or preventive measures, please feel free to share them.

So, turns out an EXCLUSIVE Hunter jumper trainer ONLY support group is being formed by Sheri Moser ...I was invited until I advised her it was a terrible idea...it has always fascinated me and every single European professional that I know how, unlike in Europe where this sport originated that trainers control and earn 10x of their European counterparts....every single dollar that is poured into this sport comes from one source and one source only..

OWNERS OWNERS OWNERS OWNERS..

So I am forming an owner's group...with one major caveat..OWNER ONLY..that means no other title... So no owner/rider..
No owner/trainer...no owner/farrier..etc...

...this meeting aired so many of my concerns at horse shows.... typically I'm the libe wolf arguing with management about these kinds of issues....we riders and owners and trainers need to band together to hold management accountable for the facilities that they offer us for competition....footing, stabling, stabling ground, lights left on at night, overcrowding, not enough space to work horses, restroom cleanliness....lunge areas, frequency of lunge area footing...
These are the ones to come to mind first....and I still do not understand why show managers are not required by USEF to advertise shows in local magazines, newspapers need channels to attract an audience...

At the IJRC General Assembly 2023, the riders agreed that the FEI's focus should be on getting what actually matters to horse welfare right.

..I went to get a bunch of stuff at Walgreens today..couldn't quite figure out why the store clerk wouldn't make eye contact and jumped back when I reached for my bag...this pm I was..well you all know what I was doing ..and happened to look at the boxes in the floor...😳... when I go back tomorrow I'm going to itch at a pretend scab on my hand ..let's see if she runs out of the store screaming..😱

..major shout-out to WEC for the most amazing FEI organization, planning and event I have ever seen....their effort, attention to details and planning cannot be commended enough by words alone...they even allowed the FEI horses to flat and train in the AC temp controlled indoors...so that they did not overheat....just incredible...thank you...🙏🙏🙏..

...stop 1 of our fall calendar at Traverse City Horse Show was incredible....superbly run horse show where everybody cares about the details.....will for sure be on our regular calendar....so enjoyable to be at a professionally run operation.....the footing is beyond excellent and their footing management is commendable....🏅🎉🎉🎉
