Hi!
I am now back to work PT!!!!

Needless to say, I'm behind as heck and overwhelmed with the task of fixing a disaster of a schedule. If you haven't heard from me, please reach out, I don't want to miss anyone in my sorting out. If youve gotten your pup groomed in the interim, please let me know, so I can book your next appointment and know you won't need me immediately.

If you're waiting for estimates, please also bear with me! I am behind on those as well. When I say the pain consumed me, I mean it. I also wasn't exactly sure how this would go and what my future held. It's been a bit rough, but we're coming out the other side and we'll keep on keepin on. Thank you for your patience! I'm doing my best! 💜🐾

Sharing some important news!

I also wanted to share that I have an injury that is thought to be a herniated cervical disc. It's extremely painful and I am not a fan!
I'll have an MRI to see exactly what's going on, but in the mean time I'm seeing a chiropractor for some specialty type therapies this week to hopefully alleviate the majority and get me mobile again. It's affecting the left arm (my dominant hand) and that side is weaker all together.

I will be working on getting caught up on estimates as I can. Unfortunately, I'm fairly sure I'll have to continue to need to reschedule into next week. This occurred in the very early hours of Wednesday. I was mostly fine going to bed. I had been having some neck and shoulder pain a couple of weeks prior, but I was able to work through it and calm it down. It got mad that night though, and here we are!

Getting older isn't fun sometimes! However, this is a really good lesson and a kick in the pants to start taking better of myself all around!

Thanks for your patience and super caring words. I appreciate yall so much! If you haven't heard from, I apologize, I was behind, and now I'm way behind. Reach out and let's chat, I have some back up plans if needed. We will work through this too! 💜

I'm considering offering one day a week for grooming in the mobile salon, parked near Dinwiddie/Chesterfield Co. This service would not be at "discounted" pricing, but pricing that reflects a one-on-one salon experience with a professional. If you've been wanting me to groom your pups, but the mobile experience is just out of reach this may be the perfect solution!

This will be offered one day a week only. Space will be limited. I will still require a 6 week or less grooming schedule. Pick ups and drop off times will need to be timely to make this work, as I will remain cage-free.
If there is interest please comment below and I'll move forward with a form specifically for non-mobile grooming. Feel free to share as well!

Hopefully this will help alleviate any worries yall have with the new respiratory illness showing up in dogs. The case numbers are still low, and the one-on-one nature of mobile grooming means there's very little potential for communicable disease to spread (disinfecting between each appointment as I've always done keeps the chances for illness very low as it is!)

All dogs shed. There is also no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog. Education is important. This makes life easier for both you and me when the knowledge is there 💜

Do Doodles Shed?

That’s the million dollar question that everyone wants to know, & the answer is YES.

When you breed a curly coat like a Poodle with a double coat like a Golden Retriever, the pup is born with a combination coat. They have both curly coat AND undercoat.

When you look under a microscope at doodle hair follicles, you can see that their hair does not grow in a synchronized pattern like a purebred dog. Since the hair follicles do not grow in sync with each other, this causes the coat to tangle more easily.

If a Doodle sheds, why are you not finding loose hair all over your house?

When the undercoat sheds, it clings to the curly coat which works like Velcro and holds all that hair in. It’s very important to brush and comb your doodle regularly not only to prevent matting, but also so that you can brush out the loose undercoat that is trapped in the curly coat. This trapped undercoat is one of the number one reasons that I see Doods matted.
