Forgot their favorite toy at home? No problem! We provide enrichment for those super chewers in need! Fully sanitized between pups, the big box of toys at Falcon Kennel has everything from antlers to tennis balls. (Nothing that can easily be chewed/ingested of course) Rest assured your pup will have fun at Falcon Kennel! Louie was so happy to get his! :)

At Falcon Kennel, every kennel has a raised cot! We want your pups to feel at home, so if there's a blanket or bed that your pup loves, bring it with for your reservation! We just ask that it is machine washable. Bentley sure does love snuggling up in his cozy bed. :)

Some of our customers ask why we require collars be removed while boarding. This is a good example of why this is a requirement.

Sweet 14-week-old Golden Retriever puppy Percy is on the road to recovery after spending some time in our ICU over the weekend! He was an excellent patient and feels better already thanks to some time in our state-of-the-art oxygen kennel. In this photo he had popped his little head out to say hello to our staff during one of his treatments, and we don’t think he could get any cuter!

How Percy ended up spending the weekend with us is an important story that his caring owners allowed us to share to help keep other pets safe. Percy and his big brother were rough-housing, when Percy’s collar got stuck on his brother’s mouth. Percy panicked when he was suddenly stuck, and while twisting around trying to escape he caused his collar to become even tighter around his neck! Thankfully their owner noticed quickly that something was wrong and freed Percy before he lost consciousness. When his owners rushed him to see our ER team, Percy was struggling to breathe, drooling profusely, and very distressed. Radiographs showed that Percy had fluid in his lungs (non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema) caused by the time he spent struggling to breathe. Pain medications and oxygen support quickly helped Percy breathe more comfortably as his body worked to heal from the experience.

The strangulation hazard of dogs playing while wearing collars is a hidden danger that many pet owners don’t know about, but a story we hear with some frequency in the ER. Thankfully Percy’s story has a happy ending, but if his owners hadn’t been there to intervene it could have been tragic. Please, get your pups microchipped so they have a permanent form of identification, and then take those collars off when they’re playing with or interacting with other dogs!

A friend of ours found this very sweet pitbull on Curtis Road near Hwy 94. We scanned her for a chip but couldn't find one. If anyone knows of someone missing their girl, please call me at 719-728-0642.

We are blooking for full-time help as a kennel assistant at Falcon Kennel. The starting pay is $13 per hour. Duties include feeding and cleaning up after customer's dogs as well as sanitizing dog runs. We will also train to check in and out dogs as well as take reservations.

Today Friday, August 6th, marks the one year anniversary of the opening of Falcon Kennel! All dogs kenneled here today will receive a celebratory dog treat to celebrate this special occasion with us.

Opening a travel-related business during the travel shutdowns related to COVID-19 had us worried about the future of the kennel. However, thanks to the support of our local community, we were able to get through that and are now having consecutively sold-out weekends. Two or three weeks in advance is advised lately to secure a boarding reservation, sometimes more for holiday weekends!

Since we opened, we have added six outdoor exercise yards (that we are starting to get covered) to the perimeter yard and a storage shed. We enhanced our heating/cooling systems and upgraded our music system. We have also hired three full-time employees (Meagan, Jasmyne and our son Pete), to work along side us to help with cleaning our facility and ensuring the welfare and comfort of all the dogs housed here. We are grateful to have made many new friends in the local community- of the human and canine kind.

During this next year, we will be sending out occasional email announcements. Stay tuned!

We just experienced an incredible lightning and thunderstorm. We were very worried how the dogs would react but walking the kennels to check on them, were surprised how 83 dogs were all sleeping or sitting comfortably.

The largest United States Flag ever made displayed proudly at Hoover Dam. Each star is over 17 feet high. It takes a crew of 15 to unfurl it. God Bless America!
