This we would like to share some of the amazing Valentines-themed tributes that our Care Techs made for our shelter residents! In order, we have Vivi our longest-stay cat, Dr. Stella, and Wednesday our longest-stay dog! These all look amazing and we hope you all love them as much as we do--you can meet all three of these wonderful pets at PAWS!

You may have recently heard that Save This Life microchip company based out of Austin shuttered its doors, and that they unlinked their database from national registries resulting in their microchips now showing as unregistered. If your pet was registered with them, you can register it with another microchip company.

Not sure if your microchip is registered? You can search your chip # and find out at https://www.aaha.org/for-veterinary-professionals/microchip-search/
This page also has a list of participating microchip companies it searches databases of that you may be able to register your microchip with. Best practice is to have your pet scanned annually to make sure the chip is detectable and make sure your contact information is up to date.

🐱💛 Meet Angel, a sweet 2-year-old cat who's been with PAWS since late January. Angel may be a little shy and skittish at first, but she's quick to warm up to new friends who take the time to really know her! In her downtime, Angel loves loafing, napping, and eating—typical cat vibes. 😴🍽️ Her most stunning feature? Those bright, vibrant yellow eyes! 👀✨ Angel is spayed, microchipped, and ready to go home, 🏡 come meet her at the Pflugerville Animal Shelter! 🐾

City facilities, including the Pflugerville Public Library, Pflugerville Animal Welfare Services, Pflugerville Recreation Center, Recycle Center and City offices will be CLOSED on Monday, February 17 in recognition of Presidents’ Day.

Trash and recycling collection will not be affected. For water-related issues during the closure, please call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 512-990-6700. In case of emergency, call 911.

🎉 Yesterday, Bjorn was featured on Fox 7's Pet of the Week segment! 📺🐾 He was a true star, showing off his amazing manners and calm demeanor on live TV for everyone to see! Bjorn does great with people, and he’s especially gentle with kids, even the littlest ones! 👶💖 Although he's a big boy (87 lbs!), he’s very aware of his strength and always remains calm and collected. Our favorite part of Bjorn? He can nap inside all day, but when he knows it's time to play, he likes to hop around just like a bunny! 🐇💨

Bjorn is 3 years and 9 months old, neutered, and microchipped! He’s ready to find his forever home--come meet him at PAWS! 🏡🐾
