Hello all! This is a call for help. Please only consider helping if you have the means! Everything counts in this sad situation.
Peyton is a two-year-old Australian Shepherd owned by my MIL who was recently diagnosed with a PDA ( a congenital heart defect where the ductus arteriosus, a temporary blood vessel that allows blood to bypass the lungs during fetal development, remains open after birth). Unfortunately this defect was not picked up by any vet untill now. He will require a catheter procedure to close up the flap in his heart that did not develop. Any donations will go towards his surgery, follow-up EKGs, and heart medications. Peyton is such a lively, loving puppy and with this surgery, he will go on to live a full life. We just want Peyton to get back to his happy self. If this procedure is not done, unfortunately he will have less than a year to live.
His appointment is on Wednesday January 15th at 10:30 at Purdue Veterinary School in West Lafayette, Indiana. Thank you all for the help, we really appreciate it during this hard time! π
NEW INFO FROM MIL: I spoke with the hospital and people can phone in to make a payment. It's the Purdue Small Animal clinic in West Lafayette, IN. The number is 1-765-494-1107. They can speak directly to the receptionist to handle payment. So I suppose they'll need to wait until 1/15, when he will be approved for surgery.
