Tristan ACCT-A-167784 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Tristan must have confirmed placement with an ADOPTER, FOSTER, or RESCUE PARTNER by Friday, July 26th at 10 A.M. Should Tristan's medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change.

Tristan is affectionate and enjoys all kinds of handling. He takes treats gently and engages enthusiastically in play, running around and bouncing with joy. Behavior Notes:

Per Staff 7/8/24:

Tristan did really great for his meet today with potential adopters! He was calm and leashed easily. Walked well on leash but he's also not feeling well so he wasnt able to show his true typical energetic self. He seems like a lovebug and was offering kisses and allowed all petting. Went back into kennel on his own! He really does not like the leash on him though, I dont think he understands it. He tries to take it off himself lol. He's a good boy that needs the right person who will give him the proper care and attention he deserves.

Per volunteer on 6/30: Tristan had 3 clips indicating he wasnt out with a volunteer for several days. He is deaf, but that is easy to forget and so I'd whistle to make sounds to get his attention.

One of his distinguishing features is his light blue eyes, and the other is the Merle markings on his coat. I'm not sure if he has vision issues since the Merle coats and blue eyed dogs can.

He enjoyed pets, freely gave me kisses, but when he got overexcited, he got a little mouthy.

He chased a ball for a little while, but then lost interest.

He met a Life Saving staff person who gave him butt scratches which he thoroughly enjoyed.

He was not difficult to walk or return to his kennel - I just had to step in with him.

6/27/24 during a behavior evaluation staff noted: "DEAF Tristan was peacefully sleeping when I approached. I tried calling to him several times but he would not respond (Didn't realize he was deaf at the time) so I ended up tapping him with the leash. He eventually woke up and came to the front wagging, allowing for easy leashing. No issues returning. Pulls minimally on leash. Tristan is such a happy and social dog. Despite being deaf he does not let it slow him down. He is a very silly and in the room was social with multiple people! He was very affectionate and would allow all handling and even allowed me to pick him up at one point when he almost escaped the room! He took treats gently when offered as well! Engages in play, very playful and will run around and bounce around with you! Can be a bit jumpy and mouthy but very easy to handle. Accepts a trade with toys.

6/28/24 during a meet staff notes: "did dog meet which went ok. Tristan is a lot. He likes to hump, flails around on the leash, and is a bit difficult to redirect due to being deaf. He seems like a fine boy but will definitely need daily monitoring and training.

6/28/24 staff noted: "Helped get Tristan out for an adoption meet. The adoption counselor had him out, but was uncomfortable handling him and asked me to handle him instead. Tristan was excessively leash biting, and began going after legs/pants. I tried to use a rope toy to distract him, but he did not take the toy even once. He was determined to bite the leash or a leg. He wasn't being super rough, but was not being gentle either. He escalated to repeatedly mounting, but allowed me to keep pulling him off. He was better outside, and was more focused on everything going on around him than leash biting. However, when we returned inside, he was so stressed that he would not stop mounting and leash biting in the building. When returning to kennel he tried to pancake right at the door, but with some leash pressure returned easily.

Medical Notes:

6/27/24 during a vet exam staff noted: "Eating 100% offered food (cheese). EENT: Mild dry ceruminous debris and moderate erythema AU - mildly sensitive on palpation. INTEG: Right hind lateroventral D2 near pad lacerated (2cm). Staffs overall assessment was:

1. Presumed bilateral otitis: r/o allergic vs. yeast vs. bacterial

2. Small paw laceration

6/27/24 during an intake exam staff noted: Tristan had dirty ears and a possible ear infection, a dirty coat and, a cut on his right hind paw. Staff noted Tristan to be quiet, alert, responsive and friendly.

Our new foster, Let’s meet Sofia aka Bear ( name on her paperwork) she is beautiful 7 months old sweet , calm, chocolate standard size doodle. We picked her up on Tuesday evening and gave her a much needed bath ( which she was very easy to handle). She gets along well with other dogs and cats. She is crate trained and also house trained. She sleeps on her bed in my bedroom at night. She has no food or toy guarding issues. Overall a perfect dog. Philly Rescue Angels INC

Please share, this is neglect. If they are to take the dogs, they have to insure their safety and wellness. Stop the cruelty. Bans on dogs are insane. It’s not the breed, it’s the idiots that raises the breed without proper training and socialization.

The babies are 4 weeks old now. Going to permanent foster tomorrow until adoption day! Will miss them cuties…. They are in my incubator if you’re asking what they are in. lol if your interested in these babies lat me know. They will be ready in 4 weeks.

Happy Memorial Day!! These guys are pooped a from playing outside !! CeCe has gained all her weight and is now ready to go to get forever home. She loves her foster brother Kato ( Bull mastiff) Brooklyn is doing much better. Her URI is finally gone, the UTI is better, we exercise her to get her legs stronger. Ear infection almost gone. Our newest foster from Philly Rescue Angels INC this is Brooklyn, she is approximately 2-3 years of age. She was at ACCT Philly found as a stray ( possibly dumped after it was hard for her to have more pups) It was hot and she was stressed out and with an elongated palette, it was hard to breathe. She is currently on meds for her URI, UTI, she has two bad rear knees and an old injury that didn’t heal right on her rear right. At times when she gets up too fast, her leg hurts so bad that she runs to the corner of the room and try to climb the wall. I would have to rub her until she calms down. Her ear infection is getting better and the missing furr on her rear, legs and tail is slowly growing back. Doc doesn’t know if surgery is in her future due to her heart murmur. We will need more testing before making that decision. Overall she is slowly getting better and now sleeps and lightly plays with her foster brothers and sisters, did I mention that she is amazing with cats!! They love her!! We are working on potty training as she was afraid to do her business on the grass or outside the house until this past week. So we are moving forward to give her the best life. This little sweet nugget Neville is still waiting for his forever home. He is 18 weeks old now. P*e pad and crate trained. Sleeps with us at night, climbs off his bed to potty if needed then climbs back up. He will potty outside with the group and loves to play with his foster brothers and sisters. Meet Tommy, he has been with me for a few months now. Gained all his weight back plus a little bit more. He has all his shots, neutered and waiting on his forever home. He was abandoned by his family because he was not neutered and sprayed the home. So instead of neutering him, they kicked him to the streets and got a new puppy. He was left to fend for himself on the Philly streets. He was thin, dirty and full of fleas when found. He loves people and is great with our other cats. He has not sprayed our home, not once so you need not worry about that. Don’t care for dogs much but will tolerate them and ignore them. He just needs a family to love!! Are you his new family?? Please share to help him find a home of his own.

A three-legged shelter dog named Maci doesn’t understand why people continue to pass her by. She is a sweet dog who loves to run, play, and cuddle.

Last August she arrived at the shelter emaciated with a badly broken leg. The vet decided to amputate the leg to give her the best chance at a normal life.

After months of recovery in a foster home, Maci is ready to find her person. Her foster family shared that not much slows her down. “Maci is so spunky and sweet! She plays hard but she also knows how to settle herself. She loves to cuddle and be the center of attention, every time we went into the clinic for her appointments she would go around the room and say ‘hello’ to EVERY SINGLE person. She does not know a stranger!”

Sadly, people walked right by her kennel at the shelter when they see she is missing a leg.
