Even when we think all is well suddenly things take a turn for the worse. That’s exactly what happened to our sweet Snickerdoodle. After months in foster care recovering from severe malnutrition, ulcers covering the inside of her mouth & throat, trying to survive outside with her only friend being a rock she sat on everyday crying for help. Snickers, as we lovingly call her came into our care after someone finally noticed her.

Many vet visits, lots of medication, high end foods, and costly surgery to remove all her teeth, she was finally ready for her new beginning. Then suddenly she started having painful attacks while eating that required emergency trips to urgent care but without a clear diagnosis. We were just heart broken.

Finally after weeks of watching her decline she was diagnosed with Refractory stomatitis. It is a severe, painful oral inflammation that does not improve with standard treatments like Snickers had with full mouth extractions. It is an immune-mediated condition that causes a chronic painful inflammatory response to oral bacteria, often triggered by viruses like calicivirus or herpesvirus.

Snickers is recovering once again now that we know how to help and manage her painful condition. We are hopeful she will once again be ready one day for her forever home, but it has certainly been a very long & expensive journey. We will always do whatever it takes to give Snickerdoodle everything she needs regardless of the cost.

Every single day we have to make choices but the day we first were introduced to Andy there was nothing to think about, we needed to help this boy. Andy was on the streets with a gapping wound on his neck, alone, in pain & suffering in silence. Andy deserved better, he deserved care, comfort, love and a home!

Today Andy has come so far, his wounds are fully healed and he is very loved, and he’s ready for his forever home.
Cats like Andy are why we’re here to help them heal physically & emotionally. To find them their perfect family where they will never have to hurt or worry again.

When you’re just not feeling your best at all, with clogged stuffy noses, countless sneezes, yucky snot boogies and eye goop galore. Then you share and all of your siblings are sick too, it’s just no fun at all.

This family of 5 being born outside and off to a rough start just can’t seem to kick their kitty colds, so off to see the vet they go. Well we all know how much it costs for just one pet to see the vet, but just think what that means when it’s 5 at the same time! 😮

That’s why your $5 entries in our Halloween raffle are so critically important, they literally are helping our babies get well. Without you that is just not possible.
