Adopt Philly Phil!
Have you ever wanted your very own energizer bunny? Meet Philly Phil! This playful 2-3 year old is a perpetual puppy who’s the life of the party wherever he goes. He absolutely loves people, and lets you know it with lots of enthusiastic tail wags and snuggles!
Phil’s manners are also very puppyish, so he’ll make great strides with an active adopter who can provide, structure, exercise, and ideally a big yard to goof off in (though he’ll be just as thrilled to trot around the neighborhood with you). The great news is that Phil loves to work for treats and is super eager to please. Once he’s burned off his energy, he’s happy to snuggle up with you for a well-earned nap!
Phil’s boundless energy and curiosity make for lots of fun and non-stop laughs, and while it takes some fine-tuning to keep those puppy behaviors from causing mischief, he is the sweetest, most loving dog who will reward you with endless affection.
Phil is ready to find love with an adopter, but would also be thrilled to find a foster home in the meantime. Email [email protected] to learn more, or check out Phil’s adoption bio here: https://phillypaws.org/adopt/animals-for-adoption/?20989017.

Shy Maxine needs a foster home ASAP!
It doesn't take an expert to see that Maxine is one scared kitty. Can you help her feel safe again? This very shy kitten spends her days hiding in the back of her cage, and is suffering from a painful eye condition on top of it. She'll be getting surgery soon so she can live more comfortably, but is likely to withdraw even more during her recovery. Maxine is at a crucial stage of her socialization, and needs to find a foster home as soon as possible or risk missing the window where she can learn to trust humans. If you'd like to help, please email [email protected] to learn more!
Buddy Biscuits is looking for a foster home!
Poor Buddy Biscuits is feeling really crummy 🥺 Can you foster this sweet senior to help him get well again? He was fending for himself outside and was in very poor condition when he was rescued, suffering from a severe upper respiratory infection as well as painful dental disease that will require surgery with our medical team once he’s well enough. Buddy’s appetite is suffering due to his severe congestion and mouth pain, and he’ll have a much easier time recovering with some rest and TLC in a cozy foster home. He’s a very gentle and loving soul, and always some chirrups and head nuzzles to share in spite of how poorly he’s feeling (you can hear one of his tiny sounds in the second clip)! If you’d like to help Buddy get well again, please email [email protected] to learn more!
Buzzy is looking for love…very enthusiastically
Buzzy is ready to find love – maybe a little *too* ready, if you know what we mean 🫣 Since arriving at PAWS, this little guy has been showing his excitement in ways that may make you (and your furniture) blush. Yes, we're talking about humping, and yes, it's okay to laugh.
Luckily, Buzzy was just neutered, which will hopefully help him cool his jets a little. When he's not in what his foster mom refers to as a "hormonally-driven fugue state," he's a playful, hilarious, affectionate ham who she calls "a sweet little donut with big puppy energy." He'll run and play for hours if you let him, then pass out on the couch by your side when he's done. Plus, it's scientifically impossible to stay grumpy when he looks at you with that underbite!
While we hope Buzzy's "special behavior" will decrease significantly now that he's neutered, it may require some further support if it's stemming from misplaced excitement or anxiety.
He's looking for an adopter with a great sense of humor, some space in their day to help him burn off that puppy energy, and a bit of patience to work with him as he settles into his home and learns to channel his feelings more appropriately.
If you don't take yourself too seriously and have a special place in your heart for adorable weirdos, 2 year old Buzzy is ready to bring you unconditional love, endless laughs, and a *very* unique definition of personal space. Live from PAWS' ringworm ward with some of the sweetest kittens around! These little ones have been under treatment at the shelter for several weeks now, and they're desperate for companionship and affection. They loved having us visit them for some playtime and snuggles, but what they want more than anything is to finally leave the shelter and finish their treatment in a home with a foster or adopter like you!
PAWS provides everything you need during their treatment, and in exchange for a few weeks of extra TLC, you’ll be getting a lifetime of love ❤️
To foster or adopt one or more of our adorable fungal friends, email [email protected] with the subject “ringworm kittens”!
Some ringworm fast facts:
🔹 It’s not a worm — it’s a fungal infection of the skin that usually shows up as small patches of hair loss in pets.
🔹 It’s a mild infection, but contagious to people and pets, so a separate room for fosters is the best way to prevent it from spreading during treatment.
🔹 It usually takes 4-8 weeks to clear up.
🔹 We have twice weekly “dip days” at our Grays Ferry clinics for ringworm fosters/adopters to drop their kitties off for medicated baths — no need to do it at home!
Make Sports your MVP!
Are you ready to draft a new MVP (Most Valuable Pup) into your life? Meet Sports! This pint-sized, loyal lapdog is ready to steal your heart and fill your home with tail wags and love. While he's no athlete on the track, he's a total pro when it comes to cuddles, walks, and working his way into your heart (no overtime required)!
Sports’ ideal day is all about quality time with his human(s)—he loves curling up on the couch for a snuggle session, followed by a few walks, and then setting a new world record for finishing his dinner from a slow feeder. He would thrive in a quieter home with adults or older kids since he can have some handling sensitivities around his face, but he really is an affection enthusiast.
Sports is around 9 years old, and also gets along well with other dogs, having already shown himself to be a great teammate in foster care with his foster sister (cats are an unknown, but they're not off the table)!
