These days everything is an emergency. We have no downtime or days off from rescue and responding to urgent situations. We are just absolutely exhausted.
Just reminding everyone that our “team” consists of like 3-4 people that deal with all of this. Running out on a moments notice to pick up these cats. Coordinate all of their care and fundraise for them while begging a foster to step up and take them.
We always encourage people to be proactive with the cats they see and take care of.
🛑 Don’t wait until they’re pregnant or gave birth to
reach out
🛑 Don’t wait until they’re half dead to get them help
🛑 Don’t just snap a pic, make a post saying “I saw this
cat” post and then walk away
🛑 Don’t let cats suffer and die in your yard because
you refuse to do anything
Here are just 2 of the emergency situations we had to deal with this weekend.
Imogen (black floof) showed up in a yard pregnant and crying. The person immediately set a trap for her but she disappeared only to be found hours later a few yards over having given birth to a single baby we named Finley. You have to look real hard but Finley is indeed in the pic.
Then we have Talullah and her babies that were birthed a few days ago in a dog igloo shelter. Tallulah is a former pet that was discarded and has had many litters.
There are at least 4 other known cats that have given birth these last few days that we have people out there searching for so stay tuned 😔
