It hot out, which means flea season is in full swing! We have a quick request for our shoppers: although we love to see everyone’s furry friends in the store, please leave them at home for the time being if you are dealing with an active flea problem on your pet.

We’ve had a few situations in the last month where shoppers come in with their dogs and later mention to staff members that they have come in because their pet has fleas.

Fleas can spread diseases to humans and pets, easily jump from one animal to another (including other shoppers’ pets and our two store cats — who are fortunately treated with monthly flea preventative), and can live for 2-3 months (if left untreated) in carpeting. When someone comes in with an animal with fleas, the entire staff must stop what they’re doing to clean the store afterwards.

Please help keep our staff and other customers flea-free! We will gladly help you select items to remedy the problem and visit with your furry friend at a later time!

Of course, Flea the musician can feel free to drop in at any time.
