This may not seem like a big deal but if you know Atom’s history you’ll understand. Atom was a semi-feral dog at one point. I thought he was feral but he transformed over the years to the point that I now classify him as semi-feral. Due to his mistrust and survival instincts, sitting or lying down in public isn’t an option. But yesterday, after 9 years in my care, he chose to let his guard down at our favorite place, the beach. It was special to say the least. No dog has taught me more about patience and acceptance. What an honor to behold his trust.
