But with all the festivities in Philly this weekend there are some road closures to be mindful of from 3 a.m. on Saturday, September 3rd to 5 a.m. on Monday, September 5th: The most extensive road closures and parking restrictions around the festival site will begin at 3 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, and remain in effect through the duration of the event. Many of the road closures listed below will be lifted prior to 5 a.m. on Monday, September 5 as roads are cleaned and serviced. Road Closures: 🛑 The entire width of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, beginning at 20th Street extending west through Eakins Oval to 25th Street. Note: The rear of the Philadelphia Museum of Art will be accessible to museum guests via a special route (Fairmount Avenue, to Pennsylvania Avenue, to 25th Street/Anne d’Harnoncourt Drive). 🛑 20th Street, between Arch Street and Vine Street 🛑 21st Street, between Winter Street and Hamilton Street. 🛑 22nd Street, between Winter Street and Spring Garden Street. 🛑 23rd Street, between the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and Pennsylvania Avenue. 🛑 Spring Garden Street Tunnel. 🛑 Spring Garden Street Bridge. Sometimes our emergent cases end up not being so emergent after all- this mama cat appeared to be having difficulty giving birth so she was rushed in by @greenstreetrescuephilly . Thankfully an x-ray showed that everything was fine so our staff was able to just monitor mom and her babies for a few hours. 😻😻

Fittingly, this boy, called Grimm, had a storybook of a final chapter because of a number of fairy godmothers. It was a cold October day in 2018, when this declawed, defenseless, almost entirely hairless cat landed at Philadephia's open-intake shelter, ACCT Philly. He was covered in festering wounds and emaciated, yet begged for chin rubs. I couldn't help but load him into my car and race to Art City Vets & Urgent Care. Fairy Godmother One: Nonlethal Options Rescue's Zoeann Campbell who said "Of course!" when I asked if I could pull him from the shelter. Fairy Godmother, er, Godfather (which brings about a whole different connotation) Two: Art City Vet's Dr. Eddie Aller who said "Of course!" when I asked if I could bring in this wounded, starving boy ASAP. It was the kitty who would become Grimm who cast a spell though. Dr. Aller and his team were so enchanted by the hairless boy, they adopted him, bought him sweaters then ditched said sweater as they witnessed one stunning transformation. He wasn't a hairless cat. Not at all! This past April, after a year-and-a-half of utter love, after a year-and-a-half of greeting clients, the "best hospital cat ever," as his vet family called him, passed on after a brief battle with an aggressive cancer. Grimm touched the hearts of so many, and Dr. Aller and his team help so many rescues and shelters day-in and day-out, that cat rescuer extraordinaire Liz of Liz's Kitty Boot Camp, pulled a number of us together to commission Grimm's portrait from Shelter Art by Kaity Lacy. (Liz, by the way, works with kitties who have behavorial issues. She's basically a cat whisperer.)
