Blinky Hazel is an 8 month old house panther who is ready for her forever home! Blinky’s a playful, curious and friendly kitten who wants to know what you're up to at all times. She adores people and immediately wants to be friends with every human she meets. Blinky is both sass and sweet, and will waste no time revving up her purr motor when getting scritches. Her ideal forever home would be as an only cat so she can get all of your attention and love! Blinky has a low grade heart murmur that shouldn't impact her health, but would need to be monitored during her regular exams.

Thanks to everyone who ordered supplies and sent donations for our winter cat shelters! Our volunteers were very excited to get all the supplies and start putting shelters together. This week they were able to assemble over a dozen and even deliver a few to caretakers, where the cats were very eager to inspect them! We even included a special message in one of them.

Please get in touch if you need a shelter for your cats, or if you have supplies such as coolers or lumber that could help. A donation for a shelter is always appreciated, but we would never turn down a community member in need, and thanks to your contributions, we won't have to! We were contacted about a family of kittens hiding in a cardboard box in an alley. Our volunteers rushed down there right away to try to get them all in before the snow. It took us a few attempts, but we got all 5 kittens & their mom. Kittens are getting treated for upper respiratory infections and have already shown improvement! Mom was described as a 'baby machine' for two years (😿), but her baby making days are over! She will be spayed & vaccinated, and then returned with a winter shelter for her caretaker.

When Project MEOW adopts out a cat, we want to give you *just* a cat - we make sure they're deflea-d, dewormed, vaccinated and spayed or neutered before they join your family. Recently, lovely and charming Meri Ionic presented a new challenge: this beautiful dilute calico comes with a lovely coat and a charming personality...and a big, weird lump on her chest. The vet says that it's a benign cyst that can be removed during her upcoming spay surgery.

So, yeah. You get a delumpified cat as well when you adopt from us.

Please help us underwrite Meri's surgeries on her way to her forever home. Like we said, we adopt out cats - good cats that are *all* cat, and nothin' but. Just like Meri soon will be! Looking for a special foster for some very special cats!

Lily (black/white) was a young mom with kittens Milo and Mica when she came to Project MEOW. Now her kittens are full grown (and bigger than her!) and they love each other so much. These beautiful cats have blossomed from shy cats into much less shy cats in our care. However they would very much benefit from a temporary or forever home with someone who could provide constant love (and lots of snacks, their favorite time for the day!) to get them even further out of their shells and work with them to help them increase their trust in humans. They aren't quite ready for adoption yet, but we think with the right foster working with them, they will make great adoption candidates. We would love for Milo and Mica to find a foster placement together. If you’re interested in fostering mom AND her kids, that would be even more preferable! Enzo Reno Green (formerly Denis Reno) was found on the streets extremely dehydrated this past summer. He was scooped up and fostered in a loving home where it was apparent that Enzo had already found his forever home! His human reports that he settled in right away and was happy to have someone to sleep on and play with. Enzo’s human also said that “he’s a great fourth roommate but it would be nice if he paid some rent or cleaned up after himself” - says everyone who has ever been owned by a cat. 😉😹

Phoebe is a beautiful calico kitty who is equal parts sweet and sass! She loves a cuddle on the couch, a scratching post, a good blanket fort, her blue mouse and Churu’s. Any speck of dust is her enemy, and she does not like it when people sneeze—she will meow “bless you” but ask that you not make that noise again. She’s quite confident, silly, and in true cat fashion, knows exactly what she wants. Above all, Phoebe will make a wonderful companion and roommate!

SPECIAL UPDATE on Renault & Radar, now known as Jimmy & Carter!

Both boys are doing great in their forever home, and they are the best of friends. Despite Jimmy having heart issues, his human happily adopted him, and he recently shared some good news with us! Jimmy saw a cardiologist over the summer revealing that the meds he’s been taking corrected his heart defect, and even though he’s on one medication to keep him stabilized, he has a very long life ahead of him! We couldn’t be happier to hear this, and we knew you would be excited to hear this too! Now, Jimmy and his bonded bro Carter have many years of cuddling in their future. What a happy tail!! 🧡

A new volunteer was training to care for some of our foster cats, and Her Royal Highness Bonnie the Beauty wasn’t sure what to make of this new servant. She decided to hold his bag for ransom (and subsequently fell asleep on it) until she was sure he would be suitable for the job. This new volunteer even went the extra mile and drew a picture of Bonnie to gain her trust. Bonnie took one look at the super cute likeness of her, and she growled at it. 😹 You gotta love this sassy girl!

Little Pearl Pallas was found as a tiny stray kitten on the street in West Philadelphia, and at the time of intake, seemed to consist mostly of a great big belly and a VERY loud purr. At a checkup, the vet was a little concerned about her tummy - what was in there? Fluid? Worms? Smuggled goods? All the socks you've lost in the dryer?

Actually, it was none of the above. Just a lot of food (& gas 🙀)!

That's the good news. The bad news is that this sweet kitten also has a cloudy, infected eye full of goop, but her foster family is tending to that with prescription ointment. In the meantime, Pearl has a full schedule of naps, barreling through her crinkle tunnel at the speed of light, and showing her toys who is boss. She'll be ready for a forever home in a few months, belly and all. If you ate too much over the holidays, please consider making a donation to underwrite the care of a kitten who did the same. The cats and volunteers of West Philadelphia thank you in advance, from the bottoms of their (very full) bellies.
