Hi guys ♥️
I apologize I haven’t been active much online (here or instagram even though ig is mostly where I post)
I wanted to come on here and let you know that I am still actively working with spiders/breeding and I will be starting to post again.
I keep my personal life to myself for the most part and try to separate most things from my hobbies and work, but I needed a few months to kind of take some time to heal and focus on myself & my kids.
Unfortunately once in a while personal lives can bleed into other aspects of our lives and that’s basically what happened here. It took one ill willed person to try and sabotage all of the hard work I’ve put into this business/hobby and it almost cost me everything.
I don’t feel comfortable posting specific details online but feel free to message me if you want to know anything more. I just finally started to talk about it and it is helping. But it’s still very traumatic for me in many ways.
To other spider enthusiasts please take a word of advice and learn from my mistakes- not everyone is kind and not everyone can or should be trusted. This goes for snake, reptile, any out of the ordinary keepers. People don’t have to like what you do- it’s for you and you only. But when someone really doesn’t like it and obsesses over it more than anyone should, just please trust your gut. Unfortunately some people don’t view spiders and snakes and anything that isn’t your usual house pet as living, breathing, feeling creatures.
I’m not here to force anyone into loving spiders and reptiles the way I do, but I would never look down on anyone’s love of any animal that may not be my preference to keep. Not everyone will understand the place these spiders hold
In my heart and that’s okay- I am simply here to teach, to learn, and to share my love with others who share the same interest, as well as educate those who want to be taught.
I just ask that anyone who belongs to this group treat eachother with kindness and respect. The world needs this now more than ever. I will continue to do what I love and have respect for everyone else in what they love (as long as it’s not hurting anyone,of course).
So to sum it up- I’m back, follow your gut and keep a safe space from anyone that even jokingly speaks of harming your pets, and stay tuned because this is the first of many Spoodmom posts to come)
Thank you guys for all the messages, follows, love and kind words over these last few months- every single one of you that has reached out and checked in and still supported my business has absolutely helped me get back to this faster, and given me that push I needed to be Spoodmom again.
Thank you guys I love each and every one of you and I will be back better than ever this time thanks to all of the love I have received.
Below I posted some pics of Ruby, one of my older jumping spiders (p carneus) who I got from one of the most amazing businesses in the spider world a year or so ago, The Critter Carnival.
Brittany (who runs TCC) is absolutely one of the most amazing, knowledgeable and deeply caring and inspiring women in this hobby and I’m so lucky to be able to call her my mentor, but also to have her as one of my closest friends. Her and Kyla from Elegant Eight have been an absolute blessing since the day I met them and have continued to check up on me and support
Me and I owe them the world.
Please support these businesses. As I get my company back on its feet these are two businesses that I will be referring everyone to tjat is interested in adopting at the moment. I promise they dedicate so much love and time to this hobby for all the right reasons and are the most amazing women I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing and calling my friends.
Love you all,
Spoodmomz 🫶🏽
