Explain this one to your children at dinner tonight... more Florida algae bloom death.

Wait... it is not explainable. It's a disgusting shame... a shame we all must bear.

What will you do to help stop this from happening again next year?

Sounds about right.

A few of Mr. Pieces followers have suggested we personalize our page more, as well as share house rabbit education. Most of you don't know that Mr. Pieces is home to 24 bunnies, several with special needs. These 24 have found their way to us in different ways, and will remain part of our large family until they choose to leave this world. While we have also served as a foster home and vacation home, there are 24 permanent residents and over the course of the next couple weeks, we will share each bunny and their story with you.

Many of you have asked about pet-proofing under the couch, so here is how I've done it.
-----
Rabbits like narrow and dark places, which is why under the couch is a favorite hiding space for most pet bunnies. Allowing them to spend their time there, however, can be dangerous and unrealistic for many of us. For example, many bunnies don' realize how tight a spot is, so once there they panic and hurt themselves while trying to escape (I have unfortunately seen disabled buns on IG as a result of this.) Another problem, particularly for me, is that some sofas conveniently double as chew toys (the construction of mine is wooden), so it wasn't unusual back in the day to question if I live with bunnies or beavers. Despite all my attempts to stop them, they were determined to chew the couch into a new shape, so I soon realized some day we might end up falling on them, as we sit. I tried everything. I blocked with cardboard - they chewed it. I put suitcases under the couch, which only annoyed them and Arnie chewed a hole in the couch trying to make an "entrance". I tried fabric and blocked off with furniture - the smallest movement that would open a slit would immediately entice the buns to attack. I ended up browsing Home Depot one day for a solution when I came about the wooden panels - they were very light and super cheap. I got a pack, wood glue, a mini saw and a measurement tape and headed home. I measured the opening under the couch and glued together a couple of the panels to make a perfectly fitted solution. It was that easy. I did it by myself, in my apartment living room - no power tools or anything fancy needed. Make sure that you fit it perfectly because a gap or pokey corner will taunt the buns to chew it.
Disclaimer (because that's the world we live in): If you are a young person under 21, do not try this at home - please have an adult help you. Dear adults, be careful when using a saw - it can hurt you if not used properly, even if it's mini.

We all know British actors are among the most versatile in the whole world of thespians, but if you'd have told us that they could go from stormtrooper or mutant to furry little bunny rabbit, we'd have been pretty skeptical. But it looks like that's exactly what we're going to get, thanks to a new miniseries production of Watership Down being co-produced by BBC and Netflix. Deadline is reporting the blockbuster, multi-national affair will feature John Boyega, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Ben Kingsley, and Gemma Arterton. The big names will play different rabbit characters in the four-part CG animated series which will air in the UK on BBC One and in North America exclusively to Netflix. It's being written by Tom Bidwell (My Mad Fat Diary) and directed by Noam Murro (300: Rise Of The Empire). Watership Down is a novel by Richard Adams that was first published in 1972 and went on to sell millions of copies worldwide. It tells the harrowing story of a group of rabbits who are forced to

Really great information.

Being picked up is not a natural experience for a rabbit. Unlike many animal parents, such as cats and dogs, rabbit mothers don't pick up their kits and carry them around. The only time a rabbit would experience this type of movement is if a predator attacks them!
