Penn Vet Student AVMA Chapter Penn Vet SAVMA is the representative organization of the student body to the university and to the greater veterinary community.

SAVMA provides funding for PennVet clubs, holds lunch talks, awards travel grants, funds weekly happy hours, and so much more!

Happy Sunday from ✨Athena✨, the 2 year old Chocolate Lab, Australian Shepherd mix! She loves to be outside, and she’s Canine Good Citizen certified so she finds every opportunity to show off her tricks. Come find Athena at the Happy Hours and say hi! 🐾🐶❤️

Happy Good Boy Friday from Sawyer!! He was adopted from a litter of barn cats, and now he loves to play fetch, trip people up the stairs 💖 and play with cardboard boxes. He greets his Mom at the door every day when she gets home and is a very reliable study partner (& distraction) 📚 🐱

Happy New Year 🎉 from Toes Caboose Rendezvous Galore!!
He was rescued in August of 2022 from the highway when he was only about 5 weeks old, but is now safe in his loving home with his BFF. Here are some fun facts about Toes Caboose: 1. He’s polydactyl on his front paws 2. He loves his pink chameleon toy 3. He’s always ready to fight 4. He loves watching the mouse icon on the computer 5. He loves his orange satin chair 🐈‍⬛🐾👑

Happy Good Bunnies Friday from Charlie and Cashew! They are the sweetest little bun buns and absolutely love pets (and food)! They always greet their mom when she comes home from classes 🐰❤️

Happy Good Boy Friday from Haywood!
Haywood was found as a lost puppy, while on a road trip through the Smoky Mountains. After nobody claimed him, his pawrents drove back down a month later to adopt him. Since then, he’s enjoyed endless bed cuddles, jokes, swimming in every bay, creek and pool possible, and hanging out with his equine brother Archer and feline sister Leela!

Happy Good Boy Friday from the best boy, Kunta (aka Chumpi)! He is a goofy boy who loves to snuggle all day every day. He ONLY plays with cat toys, but not with cats because he’s afraid of them. At 8 years old, he still doesn’t understand the concept of fetch - he chases the ball, sniffs it, then gets the zoomies! Kunta is loved by countless people and dogs, especially by his roommate Maia who gives him lots of unrequested morning kisses 💋 🐾

This week, our is Porter!

Porter is the sweet Cavalier King Charles Spaniel of our social chair-elect. This cutie is full of personality and LOVES his favorite toy, a crochet octopus that he loves to chew the legs off of!

Hey everyone! This week's cutie for is Biscotti Gelato!

This little character loves her TV shows and has amazing taste in shows like Better Call Saul, Abbott Elementary, and Island of the Sea Wolves! She loves to sit in her hammock and watch her best friend, a feral cat that her family has named Pistachio, sleep on their deck. They, very rarely, will try to play with each other through the window. Biscotti will show him her toys and he watches her play with them.

This week our is Minnie!

This girl has an amazing sense of style even if she doesn't love dressing up! 😆 Her favorite things are her mousey toy, snacking on tuna, cuddling with her friends back home, and watching people outside through the window!

This week we have a special segment!

Last weekend, a group of amazing students gave back to the community by serving lunch to the homeless at the Philly House! During their time at the shelter, they were able to serve about 150 members of the Philadelphia community! Great job, everyone, and thank you for making a difference!

Hey PennVet, it's that time of the week again! This week for our , we actually have two pets! This sweet pup, Clementine, and cute cat, Ziggy, live here with their owner, Kasey who adopted both while at Penn! These two were so lucky to find Kasey and now live comfy lives with her!

"Ziggy was adopted during my first year here at PennVet. He was a stray hit by a car, all fixed up, and had an FHO. My roommate at the time was fostering him. The more time I spent with him, the more I knew he was perfect, just a little crooked in his walking, hence the name, Ziggy. He loves to sleep upside down and is always purring.

Clementine was a spay dog for the 3rd year Junior Surgery Students! I met her for the first time and knew I had to have her. We picked her up and welcomed her home the next week. She now lives in a house full of vet students with her brother, Ziggy, who she loves to chase." - Kasey
