Wet Nose Rescue is one of many foster based rescues in the area and with the nationwide shelter crisis, we are working even harder to continue our mission to help as many abandoned dogs and puppies find their forever homes as possible.
As a foster based rescue, our ability to take in a new dog or puppy depends so much on our communities. Our space is limited to the amount of homes we have available to show our dogs/puppies the love they so deserve, either through adoption or fostering, as well as funds coming in through donations and fundraisers.
But what if I’m not ready to adopt or foster, how can I help?
Spread the word to family and friends to make sure that animals are spayed and neutered as soon as their vet deems it appropriate.
Share posts about adoptable dogs or fosters needed anytime you see one. You never know when it might help someone find their forever friend or help get a dog/pup out of a crowded shelter. Every little bit counts!
Donate money, food or supplies to help the next pup the rescue is able to bring into the fold.
Volunteer your time to help with fundraisers. Maybe you’ve got a great idea that your local rescue hadn’t thought about before!
It will take a village to end this shelter crisis and we will continue to educate, rescue and find forever homes until it does.

Today we lost a long time supporter of the rescue and one half of the family who started us on our grey nose society journey. Tony and Sandy adopted our very first senior, Daniella, so many years ago. Our hearts are with Sandy in this tough time and we are thankful she has Lady to comfort her in this difficult time.

Rest easy Tony! Thanks for all you did for the rescue. 💔

This sweet girl and her 6 other siblings are looking for foster families so they can make their way up the east coast from South Carolina! They are about 10 weeks old now.
With shelters across the country filled to capacity, fostering is more important now than ever before! Fostered puppies tend to find homes faster than most shelter dogs as they learn what it means to live in a home with a family. These puppies start off early learning what is expected of them allowing for a more well rounded family dog. If you have a loving home with a little room to spare, we would love to hear from you. If you would like to foster this sweet girl or any other pup with us, please consider filling in a foster application with us!

EDIT: Taylor has been placed in a foster to adopt home with a previous Wet Nose adopter. She was very excited!

Taylor and her adorable little mustache are in need of an adopter or a new foster home! She’s causing too much stress on the senior four leggeds in her current foster home with her puppy antics. Her current foster describes her as a sweet little girl with puppy energy for days.
If you are already an approved foster, please reach out. If not, please consider putting in an foster application to help out this sweet girl. Link in our bio!

UPDATE: Annie has found herself an foster to adopt family! She will be coming up on transport 9/3! Thanks to all who reached out to help!

FOSTER NEEDED - Commitment needed by Tuesday 8/29 to get her on the transport list. Transport comes into Wet Nose Rescue on 9/3.
Annie is a 5 or 6 year old c**nhound mix who came to our rescue partners emaciated, heartworm positive and clearly having had multiple litters of puppies. After about 3 weeks, someone did reach out and tried to get her back, but they refused to complete an adoption application and made it clear that they intended to return her to life living 24/7 in a dog pen, and continue to breed her again and again. Our rescue partner rightfully refused to allow this sweet girl to be returned to these conditions and instead was able to find her a wonderful adoptive family in Northern VA.
Despite being cat tested at the shelter (where she completely ignored the cat), Annie decided about a week into her new home that the cats were no good. Her loving family worked tirelessly for several months to get Annie to calm down around the cats, but ultimately had to make the difficult decision to return her.
Annie thought she quickly found another adopter, but they are unable to keep her since she cannot be crated. Annie is well behaved and house-trained. She can absolutely be trusted to roam if needed.
Unfortunately our rescue partner is overflowing as many shelters are across the country and if Annie doesn’t find rescue placement they will have to make the really difficult decision to euthanize her. If you are available to foster, please reach out ASAP. Annie has been treated for heartworm, spayed and had a post-spay hernia fixed already. She’s gotten along with all dogs she’s been introduced to, but DOES NOT like cats. She’s 45-50 pounds.

Getting non-blurry pictures at puppy yoga is an incredible feat, but these pups need to make sure every yogi feels supported on their journey, so it’s non-stop movement!
We had such a blast .vp this past weekend that we decided to plan another very soon. We’ve got a transport coming up, which means more pups to cater to more yogis so stay tuned!

Wet Nose Rescue

Welcome to Wet Nose Rescue, Wet Nose Rescue is an all breed dog rescue, founded in 2008 based in Southampton, Pennsylvania and is a totally foster based organization Our headquarters is located in Northeast Philadelphia, just outside of Bucks County. Our dogs and puppies for adoption are kept in foster homes as we try and find them forever families. This way our adoptable dogs and puppies have a chance to interact with families who usually have dogs of their own. While we have an adoption center, we do not kennel dogs there. We try and keep the adoption process as simple as possible and match adoptable dogs with loving and caring families. The adoption application is located on this website on the dogs for adoption page. Our Adopt, Shop and Training Center is located at 14425 Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19116 our entrance is on Philmont Avenue. Our adoption center offers adopters the opportunity to purchase all their needs in one spot as well as sign up for dog training classes on site. Our hours at the Adoption Center are by appointment only If you have any questions about adopting a dog or puppy, please feel free to call us at 267-684-6187.
