Yesterday, we celebrated our official first day as partners with with a ribbon cutting!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support and celebrate with us and just for everyone who came out in general to spend time with our cats.

They were super tired after a long (and their very first first) Saturday here at the cat lounge.

Stewie is a bright-eyed 1.5 year old who arrived with his brother Michael to Get a Gato! You wouldn't believe this guy is an ex-street cat because he's so super friendly!

Maggie and Helen are two of our sweetest new girls at Get a Gato!

These girls are 9 years old but their age hasn't slowed them down a bit. Both are incredibly sweet, friendly, and love to play.

Maggie and Helen are sisters and you can tell based on the way they sometimes get on one anothers nerves, but they're a package deal through and through.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at Get a Gato!

Our new kitties are getting settled in and preparing for our lounge reopening tomorrow!

As a reminder, at 10 am, we will be having a ribbon cutting to celebrate the new partnership, but this will not affect ticket availability. As always, we do suggest you reserve your space in advance on weekends so you can guarantee some quality kitty time.

Come stop by tomorrow to welcome our new cats, new partners, and enjoy the festivities with us together as we get into the holiday spirit.

Say “yo!” to Walter White. This guy doesn’t need to study science to know that he has great chemistry with everyone he meets. He’s is the sweetest and he promises he would never angrily throw a pizza onto your roof...as long as you endlessly pet him!

Walter is 7 years young, affectionate, vibrant, and playful.

He would do well as a solo cat, with other friendly cats, or with a calm dog.

And last but not least, Ashley is the last cat to graduate from the cafe.

As Ashley sets off to her forever home, we want to thank F.A.R again for starting this journey together in rescuing so many cats in the 9 months we have been partnered for. Over 60 kitties have found homes within that time and both the patrons and staff at Get a Gato has loved every cat that has come through, from a warm welcome at their arrival and tearfully saying farewell to them as they went off to their new homes.

We close this chapter with F.A.R as the 2024 year reaches its end. This week, the lounge will be closed as we reset the space to welcome our new rescue partners' cats from

The cafe will remain open with an early closure at 5pm. As we eagerly await the reopening of the lounge be sure to stop by to support by grabbing a coffee and join us on December 14th at 10am for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the new partnership!

Today we say adiós to (most) of our kitties at the cafe.

Mama Max, Brie and Pepper Jack, Fennec, and Nadja all went to their forever homes today.

Ashley will get her own special post when she goes home tomorrow!

Katya is still available for adoption and is back with her loving foster family. She did appear to have the onset of a cold leaving today and went to to get evaluated, so please donate to Fishtails for her visit and medication 🩵

This is the last weekend of our partnership with , so all of our current cats will be leaving after 3pm on Sunday. The amazing news is that almost everyone is adopted and just awaiting pickup, so we couldn’t be happier about that! It will be a bittersweet weekend as we say goodbye to all of our cats and say thank you to Fishtails for all of the cat lives they’ve helped us save since April.

The lounge will be closed for the week starting on Monday (the cafe will remain open with shorter hours) so we can deep clean and settle in our new cat arrivals from . We can’t wait for y’all to meet all of the newbies and celebrate this new beginning with us!

Be sure to join us when we re-open on Saturday December 14th at 10am for a ribbon cutting to commemorate this new and exciting partnership and to meet the amazing folks at Morris. We can’t wait to change so many cats’ lives together!
