Northwestern Stables, Inc. NWS, Inc. operates the historic Northwestern Equestrian Facility, a Fairmount Park Property. We are a non-profit org. Welcome to Northwestern Stables!

that offers horseback riding lessons and private horse boarding. We operate the historic Northwestern Equestrian Facility at the end of Forbidden Drive in beautiful Fairmount Park near the Chestnut Hill area. The facility is a Fairmount Park Property that is leased to Northwestern Stables, Inc. a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization. Our Mission:

1. To serve the community by welcoming people of all ages

, incomes, backgrounds and equestrian disciplines through providing affordable quality riding lessons, programs and boarding to the residents of the Philadelphia community and surrounding area.

2. To promote and maintain the equestrian heritage of the equestrian facility and Fairmount Park through the repair and beautification of the buildings and grounds.

Kent is enjoying his supplement lick bucket filled with a lot of great things to make sure he stays hydrated and ready for the cold weather. All of the lesson horses are toasty warm and have fresh stalls filled with a lot of hay and water. Thank you Brie Quinn for the buckets.

Hi everyone. We look forward to seeing you all again for lessons starting up this Saturday.
Please remember to dress warmly as the barn is not heated. Please dress in layers.

Invoices will be done before Saturday for everyone riding in the winter session.

With the upcoming cold weather coming Monday,Tuesday, and Wednesday we will keep and eye,and we will cancel if unsafe temperatures for riders and horses. Please check Facebook daily. Emails will also be sent to riders. If you have any questions please email us.

We have a few spots available if anyone would like to join us for winter riding.

Another great show at Dream park.
Sam and Mickey did well earning a third, fifth and six place.
El and Doodle did fantastic earning a first place, 2 sixth place and one seventh place ribbons.
The kids are really enjoying trying out indoors this winter.

Demo has started on the ceiling in the lesson barn. We can wait to see the finished work.
