Sifaka + snow = confused, but intrigued 😅
Since sifakas are a warm weather species, they were not outside to experience Philly's first snow day—so keepers brought the snow day inside to them!
We promise this is the cutest thing you'll see on your feed today! 🤗
Red pandas love the winter time and are especially adapted for cold weather and the snow. On top of having two layers of very thick fur, they are able to curl into a tight ball when they sleep, using their fluffy tails to keep their faces warm!
For the first time in history, experience Philadelphia Zoo like you've never seen before, only during our January hibernation! 🤯
You're invited to partake in our Premium Key to the Zoo Tours, where you'll be guided by expert staff on a custom, semi-private tour through Zoo grounds. Enjoy access to behind-the-scenes areas not typically accessible to the public, close encounters with your favorite animals, and an included catered lunch!
These tours are extremely limited in availability and occupancy, and each option offers its own unique itinerary. 🗝️

Sleigh weather or slay weather, snow leopard Marcy chooses the latter❄️☃️
A huge THANK YOU to our team that always does an amazing job keeping our animals, like Marcy, comfortable and cared for in the snowy weather!
One of these birds is not like the other...🦩
While flamingos are famous for sleeping on one leg to conserve energy, many other bird species engage in this behavior as well—including the swan goose, who happens to share an enclosure with our flamboyant flock!
Happy #NationalBirdDay
In every multi-cat 'household' you have the types who stalk, and the types who are always blissfully unaware they’re being stalked 😂
In the wild, Amur tigers usually live solitary lives, but thanks to our Zoo360 trail system, they can explore, meet, and interact in ways that enrich their natural behaviors!
White-handed gibbons are some of the most agile and flashy climbers amongst all primates! 🐵🧗
Built for 'hanging' out in tall forest canopies, their arms are longer than their body. This allows them to propel from tree to tree by brachiation—a form of movement where primates use only their arms to swing, while their body dangles below.
