For a couple of months shy of 18 years, Amelie and I were a package deal. Wherever I went, she went trotting right beside me. My other half. My soul dog. My life.

To know Amelie is to know what true joy, love, and happiness is. She touched so many people’s lives in her time on this planet and she made every single one of those people better for having known her.

Her soft curly ears, her funny shih-tzu teeth. Her intuitive emotions, her adorable koos. Her sleepy sunshine naps, her wild zoomies. I’ll miss it all every single day for the rest of my life.

I want to always remember how absolutely amazing Amelie was. So please, comment below sharing your favorite things about her or a fond memory so we can all remember her as she was…The Perfect Passyunk Princess.

We can hardly believe it…Amelie’s Bark Shop turns 10 this Saturday! 10 years ago we opened our doors and didn’t really know what to expect. Little did we know that we’d meet tens of thousands of pawesome pups, their wonderful humans, and some cute cats on leashes too! We’re just overwhelmed with gratitude for your daily support and kindness for our small business. Laurie is the best and she needs our help! 🐈

Our friend Laurine needs our help!! Each night Laurie feeds 70+ feral cats at established colonies she is committed to caring for, along with TNRing cats around the South Philly area, and also bringing in friendly cats and kittens for vet care and find them forever homes.

Just this week she took in 8 more kittens, who our friend Jackie with Amelie's Bark Shop and Get A Gato knew about and advocated to help.

We’d love to help Laurie stock up on kitten food and food for her colony cats. Specifically canned KMR kitten formula, Royal Canin wet kitten food, and Purina Friskies wet and dry food for the colony cats!!

Please send supplies for Laurie if you can! We know we are always asking for help, but there’s so many animals that need us. Help us help our friend and animal lover Laurie. Who is also the one that saved Fishtails baby Funyun!!

🐎 Say “Hi Ken!” to our newest arrival, Ryan ‘Ken’ Gosling. Margot ‘Barbie’ Robbie’s roommate was discovered a couple of days later stuck in the same abandoned house. Now he’s hanging out in his mojo dojo casa cat house while he gets acclimated to the shop. He’s an affectionate, handsome long haired blue-grey boy and he’s ready for his forever home. Sublime!!! 🐎
