Hi all!
As some of you may know, our staff occasionally fosters animals for local rescues and the foster animals get to spend time with us here at the kennel when there is space for them to come in.
Currently there is 1 young dog and 2 adult cats that are looking for their fur-ever homes if anyone is interested or knows of anyone looking to bring home a new family member!
Starting with the kitties we have:
~Gypsy!
My owner passed away recently, but I have always been very loved and spoiled! I miss her so much.
A bit about me:
I'm a goregous "snow shoe" bermese mix with blue eyes! I should be a kitty model!
I am told I have a lil bit of a spicy side and can be a little diva at times but I am also a lover and will protect my owner at all cost!
I may try and scratch you sometimes and have a tendency to bite if overstimulated. I usually feel bad afterwards and will come lay on your belly and give you nose boops when I'm feeling loving. I'm not a big fan of tummy rubs so please respect my boundaries! I have bent tail from when I was a kitten, so please be gentle there.
All and all I'm a very affectionate kitty who may be a little princess at times but I also am very loyal and always willing to make new friends.
I'm okay with dogs who give me my space (preferably small dogs since I feel the need to defend myself from bigger ones) and I'm okay with other cats as long as they don't touch my food. I'd be perfectly fine as an only cat, or if you want 2 kitties my sister Izzy is also up for adoption. I am not very attached to Izzy, so I'd be okay with it if you aren't ready for 2 kitties I'd just have more food and attention for myself!
I love to rub against your legs, and I like to sleep on the bed once we get to know each other. I also love to lay on paperwork if you need an excuse to procrastinate, haha!
I may prefer a home without young kids, as they aren't always gentle with me so they scare me sometimes. Older more gentle kids are fine as long as they also respect my boundaries!
If you want an independent yet loving cat, please apply! I know I am pretty, that's the only reason I act like a diva. I deserve to be a diva! I will meow at you to talk with you, and sometimes do a "double meow" that almost sounds like I am saying "Mama"!
Just remember if you do adopt me, to tell your friends about my sister so she can find a good home as well! Thank you! -Gypsy
Adoption fee is $50. She is fixed, chipped, dewormed, flea treated, vaccinated, and had a wellness exam.
Next up we have:
~Izzy!
My momma passed away recently and I've been very sad since her passing. I was very loved and spoiled, and I miss having that type of companionship. My foster mom is cool and I've known her since before momma passed, but she can tell I still feel very sad without mom.
I am a very petite tabby cat who often is mistaken for a kitten. I am a little shy and skittish at first but once I am adjusted to new people and surroundings I'm very loving and love cuddling and snuggling with my owner and giving kisses and little head bumps. I am not really into being picked up and dont really like my butt scratched. I usually get scared when people try and pick me up so I may try to wiggle out if your arms and run away from you but I usually won't bite or scratch anyobe. Once I do get used to you, I will lay next to u and be your little buddy for life! I am a very good cuddle buddy, who even liked to go under the covers when it is cold. Though I am tiny, I have a big heart and lots of love to give!!!
I am scared of big dogs, but I am perfectly fine with nice little dogs. My foster mom has a chihuahua that I really like, and when my mom was still around we used to hang out and I'd even try to play with the little dog. Since I'm still mourning, I am not as playful as I was before but I may become more playful again once I feel better and have a new family. I am okay with other cats, as I do have a sister named Gypsy that I grew up with. But I'd be okay as an only cat, adopted with Gypsy, or meeting a new sibling. Gypsy steals my food and scares me sometimes since she is bigger than I am. She is the princess and I am the "Tom boy" type of girl. I also wouldn't mind children, and I am okay with my foster mom's baby, but since I am so small I just ask for no rough kids who may try to pick me up. If you like me and think I am a good match for your family, please apply! I can't wait to have my very own family once again!
Adoption fee is $50. She is fixed, chipped, dewormed, flea treated, vaccinated, and had a wellness exam.
Last but definitely not least is:
Kramer!
Kramer is a happy-go-lucky 1 1/2 year old Great Pyrenees, Golden Retriever, and Lab cross. He is extremely friendly meeting new people or animals. He thinks everyone is his best friend! He LOVES to play with dogs of all sizes, but is very respectful to dogs who do not want to play. He is perfectly fine with smaller dogs, and will get on the ground and sometimes roll on his back to play with them to even things out. He is also fine with children of all ages, and is learning to not jump up on you (which would be his only negative trait around children)
A few things to know about Kramer that can be a deal breaker is that he can(and will) jump over any fence under 6 foot tall, so he must go to a home with a suitable fence. He has attempted to dig a couple of times, but will stop once told to stop. May not be best to be left outside too long without watching him, just to be sure.
Being he is a Pyrenees mix, he is a "livestock guardian" at heart and just wants to wander around, but this also means he is protective of his home. He is not a bite risk whatsoever, but he will bark if someone knocks at the door, or if he can see through your fence. Kramer is very easy to distract, and will generally leave it alone as soon as you ask him to.
Kramer is still getting used to jumping into the car, but he has already come a long way in less than a month and jumps in on his own most of the time. While in the car, Kramer will sometimes bark or growl at people he sees. This is also getting a lot better in a short period of time now that he realizes most people (baristas and gas station workers usually) are just trying to give him a treat and say hello!
Lastly, he is working on leash manners. He has chewed through a few harnesses and leashes, so we will be getting him a "metal leash" so that he cannot do so. Since no such harness exists, he is best on a "martingale" style collar-sized appropriately of course NOT a "choke" collar.
Considering he cannot wear a harness, he does pull on his walks and he is very strong. He is a great listener, however, so if you ask him not to pull he will generally stop.
Besides those few quirks that Kramer has, he is an absolutely wonderful dog. He is great in almost every situation he has been in, and is a fast learner.
He would love to cuddle in bed, but is also perfectly fine to sleep in his own bed. He is kennel trained, but does bark sometimes while in a kennel especially if he sees you. He is 99% potty trained, he has only made 1 mess at his foster mom's home during the night, but he went right by the door so he just wasn't sure how to ask her to be let out.
He would be fine in a home with or without other animals, as he loves to play but is just as happy to get all of the attention. He is fine with dogs in a setting where toys or food is involved, whereas a lot of dogs wouldn't be. He is gentle with his foster mom's 1 year old son, and her elderly parents, but would also love kids that can run around and play with him.
He is a great hiking buddy, and although he wouldn't be an "off leash candidate" he is wonderful on a long-lead and will swim in a pond while wearing one if you let him. He was found as a puppy running around a highway with his siblings, unfortunately one had perished before Hazel's House was able to step in. He was in a home for a while with a wonderful family, but they unfortunately had to move to a place that wouldn't have been suitable for him, so he is back with us and staying with a foster who works at a dog daycare where Kramer does great and gets to see one of his siblings, Ellie!
Kramer is just waiting for his fur-ever family to see him and instantly fall in love!
Kramer's adoption fee $300. He is fixed, chipped, dewormed, flea treated, current on vaccines, and had a wellness exam.
